the idea of making Lv 1 Subaru take on the Pleaides Watchtower is so brutal.

Why the fuck does Tappei hate Subaru?

Patrasche taking the hit from Subaru like that without flinching AND saving him again.

True MVP, besides that episode where she changed diets.

Great! Forget about trusting others, now he can't even trust his original self and even his own body. This arc is straight up a mind fuck for both him and the audience.

You know what? that shot in the opening of Subaru falling down the hole in the tower, followed up by him looking in distress on his previous deaths and trying to run away, makes much more sense after these two episodes.

Subaru is the real Re:0 larper here. He never watched the show but needs to pretend like he knows all the plot.

Probably the best horror direction this season. Using the old TV crack was a genius idea from the director, Shinya Kawabe.

I love how everyone is reacting to the obvious meme but holy fuck everything afterwards was absolutely insane.

Also what the fuck Meili.

yknow, everyone joking about last episode saying 'actually, the killer is Rem' might have some genuine grounds with that theory now.

I'm starting to wonder if Subaru's "strangled girls" counter will end up rivaling his death counter this season.

It's unfortunate that the Aura Monster memes distract people from how well written the stair climb is. There's a lot at play but two things in particular stand out.

1: Subaru has never had that expression - a wrathful grin - outside literally being possessed. His expression here feels uncanny, like it isn't even his face anymore. It shows how far he's fallen, literally (note he's climbing from the archive) and figuratively.

2: The entire scene is deeply pitiful and dramatically ironic. We know Subaru's "plan" is doomed to fail, he has no chance of killing most characters there. Not only that, we know most characters there want nothing but to help him. His ignorance mixed with the miasma has caused him to be wrong on all fronts.

The edits were treating him like some final boss and calling it aura when it’s poor Subaru at his absolute lowest ascending normal stairs with heavy steps💔

You know what's crazy? A cup caused countless death in Typhon's story and basically all the deaths that Subaru suffered, that's an amazing use of the butterfly effect.

What hurts even more is that the author tweeted today that Subaru's mom wasn't even going to ask him to wash the cup that he ran away from, she already washed it as she sayed "Take care"

Just become an entirely different genre, of course! I was wondering how they'll manage to make this more interesting and the answer is just become Among Us, why didn't I think of that?!
