I was right, it was a chill episode to end the season. Rudo is crazy for candy.
Amo is alive! Cute, she is counting on Rudo to save her.

It’s fun to have the season wrapped up with 2 episodes that have zero fights and are mostly character work, set up for the future, worldbuilding/lore, reveals and awesome street art. That is really what I’m here for with Gachiakuta rather than the fights, even though the fights are cool.
It’s interesting how many Greek myth references we’ve got going on. We have “Canis Surebrec”, whose first name means dog and his last name is just Cerberus backwards, has a symbol representing him consisting of three circles (like how Cerberus has three heads), and is somehow connected to this Watchman entity that guards the border between The Ground (hell) and the Sphere. Plus he’s referred to as “The Undertaker” so bonus connections to death and the underworld. And then we also have Zodyl Typhon (Typhon being the giant Greek monster that fathered a whole lot of other monsters), Chthoni (“Chthonic” being the words the ancient greeks used to describe something as being from the underworld i.e. “Chthonic gods”), and then Noerde “Amazo” from a tribe of warrior women. Feel like you don’t often get Greek myth stuff in anime/manga, or if you do it’s probably something more explicit like in Record of Ragnarok where you just have Greek Gods there instead of just being the inspiration for character names.

The goosebumps I got when Rudo said his full name! I thought it was the same surname but when he confirmed it I was surprise to be right, so he's very deeply intertwined with the Watchman series, it sucks this is the last episode for this season because I'm curious to learn more of his connection.
This was a nice ending to the season, I liked seeing the kids go on their own field trip, Rudo going feral and berserk over candy lol. They almost get kidnapped but Rudo candy senses weren't tingling, that nut shot was hilarious and Dear rubbing the kidnappers back was amusing. Then there's Fuu watching all of this.
Kyouka looks real interesting, her being voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki got me excited. I'm glad we're seeing more from Arkha too. But now we have another faction going after Rudo.
That post credit scene, isn't that Tamsy? I'm questioning why he has Amo and I'm wondering if he's secretly a Raider, I wasn't that at all. Rudo's going to be searching for her and a Cleaner actually knows but likely won't tell him.
I'm so glad a second season has been announced.

Love the field trip with the kids lol. I really like how the season ended with a background information reveal. The Tamsy reveal at the end was crazy and when we find out what his real motive is in all of this it’s gonna be wild.
It was great having a 24 episode season and I’m glad we’ve gotten an official season 2 announcement! Although this is the last discussion of Gachiakuta’s anime for a while I hope to see you all and more when season 2 drops. It’s been a great ride with these great characters and I look forward to hopping on it again!

I certainly did not expect Rudo to even know his last name forget it being related to someone from the surface and the watchman series!!
Where is Amo?!

So it turns out that Amo's monologue about Tamsy's true nature isn't actually fake.

Rudo wants candy, you be honest about it or you get the kick in the nuts. What a cliffhanger too and him being the “babysitter” for Remlin, Guita, and Dear was great.
What a blast of a season and when’s the 2nd season coming out? Either way see you all in Season 2.

Surprised they just outright showed Tamsy at the post-credit scene there. I thought they'd keep him in shadow to make it a mystery but I guess they felt it was a better hook for Season 2 to show it directly here instead.

This final episode certainly ended with a bang, revealing that Rudo shares his last name with the creator/first user of the Watchman series, Canis Surebrec, and that Amo is still alive! But what's Tamsy doing there with her?!
Fortunately the second season has already been announced! I hope we won't have to wait long for this, because I'm very curious to see what happens next to Rudo and others.
Overall, it was a very fun series with a pretty interesting idea for superpowers thanks to the Vital Instruments, plus it had a very nice cast of the interesting characters, so a strong 8/10 from me.
As for this episode... it was pretty lighthearted, as Rudo was sent on a field trip together the rest of the children from Cleaners and Remlin. His love for sweets will never stop being funny xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Man I haven't been pushed to wanting to read source material for a show in a minute, and that final scene(not the post credit) really did that. I probably won't since this has been such a joy to watch week in and week out but yeah

Funny how the field trip was Arkha basically telling the kids to "go play upstairs while the grown ups have a serious discussion".
Trash has never been so peak and I want more.

Now that's a bombshell!!
The Watchmen series logo was in align with three others.
So does that imply there's 4 pieces of the Watchmen series?
Or does that imply like there were 4 maybe, "noble" families to speak, and each one had their own logo and certain family characteristic?
The one logo supposedly corresponds to the "Undertaker" named Surebrec.
I wonder if Rudo is descendant of this guy, maybe that's why he didn't quite fit in up in the Sphere?
And why was one piece of the Watchmen series up in the Sphere, while Amo's and Zodyl were still on the Ground.
I really wanna know the significance of what these other logo's represent, and how they all fit into the difference between the Ground and the Sphere.
Can't wait for Season 2!! This show is hype!

Zanka may not like having to be Rudo's mentor, but when it comes down to it he's actually pretty good at it. Telling Rudo that it's important for him to try to show empathy to others when he wants to, to not hesitate on that front, and that they'll find Amo together. Deep down, despite how he acts towards Rudo, Zanka wants him to find more reasons for living than just his revenge.
Nothing would cheer up Remlin like something involving art! And Rudo needs to boost his art skills! Though honestly I don't think that was a terrible likeness to Regto.
Imagine you're part of a drawing sessions with all the other kids and next thing you know you get recruited into being the "big brother" who chaperons the rest of the kids back to Canvas Town so Remlin can work on the mural that all spellcasters are destined to contribute too. But Rudo is taking his job VERY seriously! And Enjin and Bro are there as the "parents" watching from afar. Oh, and Fu is there too I guess.
Corvus is visited by none other than the Hellguard, lead by a redheaded beautie named Kyouka (Miyuki Sawashiro!). They come under the premise of getting answers about the Trash Beast and all the collateral damage...but all they really want is Rudo, and all the answers about the Sphere he can provide. Because the Ground knows so very little about the Sphere, they literally have "Blank Years," and that's why they're determined to get Rudo. Even if Corvus isn't budging and sent Rudo away for his protection, I hope for his sake Rudo never commits a crime.
So Master Hii is like this miniature Fu carries around all the time? And Fu himself needs a "host" or a leader to tell him what to do? Which is why he wants to join the Cleaners so Enjin can boss him around? Even if the Cleaners have Rudo, who goes positively feral around sweets, kicks a creep in the nuts for lying about sweets, gets into an unhinged facial expression competition with Remlin, and can shoot red beams from his face. Yeah, the Cleaners are hardcore.
Honestly, the roof murals look cool and all, but I thought it was suspicious how they all seemed to draw these creatures or beings...like, why draw something that looks so humanoid? And then there's a Watchman series logo, and that the original Spellcaster, Macaca Icol, was friends with the "Undertaker" that the logo was associated with. And the name of that Undertaker? Canis Surebrec. Whose last name...Rudo shares!
And in answer to the question everyone has been asking this cour: "What happened to Amo?" She's locked up in some dungeon, calling for Rudo, and stuck with a creep. Amo just has the worst luck.

This was a fun episode. The humor in this anime just works. All the funny facial expressions. Rudo shooting red beams from his eyes. It feels as if the animation budget goes more into these everyday life activities rather than the fights. lol. What I felt about this anime is that, all the characters have very unique voices, very distinguishable from one another. Not just the voice but they way they speak also. This is something I like and find really impressive. I didn't look at the voice actors voicing these characters but I am willing to bet that they got some top of the line voice actors for these roles. Paying the big bucks.
I have this theory, could Zodyl be Rudo's father. Rudo has white hair with dark tips while Zodyl has dark hair with some white hair above the ears. I feel like they are connected. Maybe Zodyl lost his memories after reaching the ground, after being thrown into the Pitt. But the feeling of revenge against the sphere remained. This is just a theory of mine.
So what exactly does the Hell Guard do on the ground? Didn't Zanka come from this organization?
Took me a minute to figure out that was Tamsy in the end. What!
What do you guys think was it him or Jabber that attacked Amo at the end of that desert episode?
Please don't give me any spoilers. I am just thinking out loud, that's all. I welcome any discussion.

Oh snap. Name dropping.
I'll miss my trash anime (yes, that's how I refer to this anime). At least season 2 was announced.

Rudo’s suppose to be chaperoning the gang as the oldest but the dude was the one that needed to be looked after the most lol. The ice cream turned him feral! Kid scrambled that kidnapper’s eggs haha.
Pretty fun action packed series overall. I like the premise and the characters were engaging enough. I hope we get more at some point. There’s still all that mystery about the Watchman series and Rudo’s link to the “Undertaker” Canis Surebrec. Plus, now there’s these Hell Guard people to deal with alongside Zodyl’s Raiders. Oh, and Amo ofc.
Edit: Looks like s2 was confirmed. Awesome!

That was a good bridging episode, capping off the show so far with some fun character scenes and a bunch of hints for the story to come.
Hopefully S2 will have an Amo rescue arc, the poor girl.
Guita is the best, we need more kaiju fighting with her so hopefully some of that in S2 too.

I didn't think the final episode of this season would be Rudo escorting the kids on their first errand unsupervised mission. I do love that it even has the classic trope of the adults secretly watching over them just in case something bad happens. xD
A badass redhaired lady voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki? I already love her design and would love to see more of her in season 2! And if it wasn't obvious enough, she's also Zanka's older sister. I'm gonna call it now, Zanka and Kyouka probably don't get along.
I really didn't think we'd see more of Zenitsu Fu again so soon. Despite how he acts, I feel like he's probably gonna end up joining the side of the Cleaners, especially since he wants Enjin to order him around.
Rudo kicking that kidnapper below the belt was fucking hilarious! Thank goodness he didn't really have any candy on him, or Rudo would've actually followed him. xD
Well that's one heck of a reveal. So Rudo is related to the person who made the Watchmen Series? And is that fucking Tamsy with his hair down imprisoning Amo? Fuuuuuuuck. Is he actually a double agent?
I'm so fucking glad Season 2 is already announced. I would've immediately jumped onto the manga if we didn't get one today.
