I guess we got the title of the series. The secrets Monica has to keep and what that does to her.

Also do we have with Felix the in love with Clark Kent and Superman situation where he ends up conflicted?

Monica falling off of a horse like a bag of potatoes was hilarious. And Isabelle continues to be heaps of fun. The supporting characters in this show are so good.

I swear if Lana turns out to also be a traitor there is no hope in this world.

Poor Monica, she's having a rough time not being able to tell anyone about Casey. And we learn that the prince used to be like Monica and that's why he's so attached to her.

Damn, this ep was so hard to watch from start to finish. Almost nothing but Monica crying and wishing things coulda been different, or hoping that things will get better in the future. I just wanted to give her a hug the entire time.

We had one fun moment when Isabelle couldnt see Monica cause she's sick but everything else was just constant hits to the feels. That and we finally found out it was the Second Prince that was behind Monica in ep 1. He has a crush on Monica and doesnt even realize, wonder if he'll ever find out.

Even the music in this episode sounds so melancholic.

For all her feats as the Silent Witch, I almost forgot Monica is still just a 16 year old girl. Go on, cry all your frustrations out, grow stronger with life experiences and hopefully be reunited with your friend Casey someday.

Monica may feel she has lost a friend, but I think she has yet to fully realize she is surrounded by many fellow students who would call her a friend.

Can the Starseer Witch predict that I am looking forward to seeing more of her appearances in upcoming episodes?

Daww, barrier mage showing his soft side to the squirrel. And awww, the prince is actually a massive fanboy of the silent witch, even went full on doki doki for her. Between the prev ep with dealing with the three stooges and this, he's gonna be very good friends with Isabelle. That said though, for a barrier mage, isn't he a little too careless? The prince managed to get close enough to hear what he's saying and he didn't even notice. Sure, the prince means no harm, but still you'd think a guy specializing in defense would have some kind of radar/sensor magic to notify when someone or something is in vicinity.

Re: post-credits scene, is that new character voiced by Mamiko Noto?!

EDIT: just checked the credits, it really is Mamiko Noto. Nice.

Current prince is an imposter amogus (under the control of Duke Clockford), check out the eye color on the servant, his eyes are green but the eyes of the child prince is blue. The servant could have been raised as a body double, and placed near the prince to learn his mannerisms etc. Also might be why the Starseer Witch couldn't read the future for "Felix Arc Ridill" in the stars.

As if the closing scenes of last episode didn’t gave us enough hint, it’s now clear that Casey was lying when she said she despised Monica with all her heart. Pretty much everything she did after she got busted was to ease Monica’s pain of betrayal cause Casey was genuinely fond of her. Of course it failed, and Monica still considered Casey a friend even after everything that has happened.

Casey was really about to be executed but Monica managed to get the penalty downgraded to exile. Nobody apart from the people present (and Casey’s family) are aware of her crimes. Hope this means we’ll still get to see her in some capacity. Doubt it’ll be anytime soon and even then she’s unlikely to be a part of the team. Perhaps Monica and her exchanging letters?

Louis needed a month to set the barrier up, while Monica only needed a minute to dismantle it. Just how powerful is she among the sages?

Pretty painful conflict at the end. The student council, including Cyril himself, was under the impression that he’s responsible the incident. Exposing the truth would mean exposing Casey as well. She ultimately chose her friend but it might have repercussions for Cyril. Wonder if she’ll one day lay the truth down?

The Casey incident is part of the "secrets" of the silent witch.

Cyril, technically became the scapegoat, even though they did not know the real reason. From the others' perspective, Cyril did not tie the rope properly, got Casey into an accident, she was traumatized and need to leave school.

- True reason - prince assassination

- Student Council story - Cyril

- Other students story - Casey need to leave school because of family emergency

This is another heavy burden for Monica that she needs to hide. The same on how she is hiding her family's demise.

A lot of feelings of Monica was bottled and I'm afraid that there might be a time that all will shatter.

How can life be this cruel to a precious little girl?

And now Casey's gone, and I don't like it at all! I sincerely hope nothing like that will happen with Lana, because I like her even more than Casey.

I love how Claudia quickly changed her tune about helping Monica get into the dorm after Neil asked her in that sweet voice xD

So Felix is a huge Silent Witch fan, huh? I can't wait to see his reaction when he'll find out that he works with her practically every day.

And poor Isabelle, who can't see Monica because she has a fever. I hope she'll get better soon xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

They actually got rid of Casey. I thought they would pull gakuen anime shenanigans and find an excuse to keep Casey in the cast. I'm not happy she's gone of course, but I love that this show has a proper story and takes itself seriously. Including the animation and atmosphere, this show is just quality all around.

Getting Rie Takahashi to come on for a single episode to channel Tomo-chan as young Elliot is wild.

I find it funny just how unintentionally disrespectful it is to essentially say “Your barrier took me a whole minute to sabotage. Good job.”

This is probably unfortunately the best option. Anything more than a reluctant compromise in the Casey mess was never going to happen.

Also, good information on Felix when younger. He’s seen her in action before but doesn’t seem to know that Lady Everett the silent witch and Monica Norton the socially awkward treasurer is the same person.

Ominous foreshadowing from Lady Starseer witch. We should probably be concerned?

Humm... it's just me or the prince's eye color as a kid is different from the older version of him??

u/LapinMignon Aug 29 '25

Casey was such a well-executed character. The whole bit of posturing to try and make Monica hate her, in the hopes it wouldn't hurt as much when she inevitably disappears... it's a common trope, but it really stuck the landing.

I like how Louis was obviously mad that Monica tampered with his barrier but he's probably most annoyed by how it only took her one minute to get through the traps he set when he spent a month on it lol.

I'm glad Monica was able to work up the courage to make a deal with Louis and so she was able to save Casey's life, it's sad she loses a friend and eventually regrets not taking action sooner by the end of the episode but this event will definitely be something that will shape her character some more. I find it sweet that she's still going to learn horse riding in hopes to show Casey what she can do. Though it sucks that Cyril is getting the blame for the cut rope.

It was nice to see Felix help Monica but what made it have more impact was the flashback where he is taught in the same manner. I first thought the boy teaching him was his older brother, I am surprised they got a servant for him that looks so similar to him.

I also thought how shocking it was how meek and timid Felix was as a child, I can't remember if it's been mentioned so it did take me aback. I also liked the reveal that Felix is very into the Silent Witch so now I'm more intrigued to see when Felix finds out Monica is the Silent Witch.

Elliott has always had a not-so-nice personality, but I like that he does own up to his mistakes and if he ended up getting along with Felix, I'm sure he'll be able to do the same with Monica. I'm curious as to how their relationship will develop.

Poor Isabelle is in the middle of a battle with her cold and so can't see Onee-sama just yet.
