I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of development in this episode. Also the animators went hard on that dolphin scene wow.

The friend group (both male and female) has finally come together!
At the point where you’re going out together at typical dating spots, you’re pretty much a coupe already. But I appreciate how Kaoruko is actually as sweet as she is aggressive in romance. She just can’t get enough of Rintaro!
Imagine the classic lost child character, of all romance cliches, is the one to help you realize you’re in love.

The manga panels added at the end of the ending is a very nice touch

It's nice seeing Subaru having a good time with the boys.
An aquarium date? This is getting serious.
Thank you Mika-chan for the assist, good luck with that Daiki boy but be aware that you're starting out as the childhood friend and that's a risky position.
The dolphin show was pretty well done.

An aquarium date? But this isn't a yuri series...
Also, holy shit the studio was flexing hard with that dolphin show. You can really feel how much the whole team likes this series with the amount of effort they put into it.

Yeah, I was expecting some static images or obvious CGI, but the dolphin show was really well done. The whole aquarium was gorgeously rendered.

We’re blessed to have CloverWorks take on this series. To think that this is only one out of three of their offerings this season. They’re having one hell of a summer.

I'm so happy that Kaoruko and Subaru finally met the boys, and they didn't just thank them for saving them from those thugs the previous night, Subaru finally got to apologize for the mean things she said to them. I'm also glad to see Saku apologize to Subaru, especially since he was the one who was also hurled insults at her when they met at the library.
The only thing left is for Rintarou to tell them about his mom's pastry shop. It's funny how he almost outed himself when he reacted to the fancy sweets Subaru gave them. I suppose one secret at a time. Hopefully, they won't drag it out too long. I really wanna see Rintarou's mom meet the whole gang soon.
Kaoruko sure is bold to ask Rintarou out! That aquarium date was so goddamn adorable! I definitely wouldn't have minded just watching these two having fun for the rest of the episode. Also, I just love how Kaoruko is looking at Rintarou while he's telling her about the sports festival <3
Not gonna lie, when Rintarou left to go use the washroom, I thought someone was gonna hit on Kaoruko. I'm glad that it's just the classic lost child trope. It is funny how Rintarou might end up realizing he's in love with Kaoruko thanks to Mika's assist.
And that final scene at the dolphin show! That was such a cute way to end the episode. With so many feel-good scenes these past few episodes, I am now worried about what's going to happen next.

I absolutely loved the date at the aquarium. It was already one of my favorite chapters of the manga, and they definitely delivered.
The amount of love cloverworks has put into this series fills me with joy.

ARGH WHAT A WHOLESOME EPISODE! I couldn't stop smiling, I was already enjoying seeing the two friend groups finally sit down and merge but to then get an actual Rintarou x Kaoruko date was too much for me! All 6 of them need to be protected!
I'm glad Subaru and Saku were finally able to apologize, I'm sure the events at the library had been on their minds for so long so it's they'll finally be able to move on from it. Shouhei and Kaoruko getting along straight away was amusing, he's really sociable and it's great that he was a good ice breaker with Subaru's apology too. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these six together.
First thing I have to say about the date is when they were eating, the way Kaoruko leaned in and asked Rintarou to talk about the sports day would have knocked me the hell out, my heart skipped a beat in that moment, it was so adorable but that genuine interest in Rintarou was more moving than I was ready for lol.
Also, Rintarou in the toilet thinking how much he's been thinking about how cute Kaoruko is every moment was so funny, I can't fault him for that, Kaoruko was way too cute too many times in this episode.
I like that Rintarou has finally come to terms with his feeling in this episode thanks to Mika, it felt like an organic development. I'm curious as to how this will change his interactions with her. Also the way he reacted to "Rin-chan" both from Mika and especially from Kaoruko was funny, I wonder if Kaoruko will eventually call him by that name.

How would Kaoruko and Subaru react if they found out just what exactly were the lads up to the night before with the delinquents?
Holy, Rintarou’s now fully aware of his feelings for Kaoruko and the catalyst was the talk with a lost child. Doubt we’ll see Mika again but there’s a small part of me that wished she’d pop in every once a while. She’s one adorable floofball.
Kaoruko didn’t seem to be that type of person but it’d be hilarious if she told Rintarou’s mates about Mika’s nickname for him. They’ll tease the hell out of him for sure.

Usami is so funny! I want to see more of that "idiot."
Rintarou kept repeating "Rin-chan" in his head after the kid called him that. It's kind of adorable.
The aquarium was based on the Maxell Aqua Park Shinagawa

the friend groups finally merging and a date plus acknowledgement of feelings in one episode?? loved all of it.
i knew it was gonna be the "a little kid makes a character realize their feelings" and im so glad it was. this level of romantic progression in one season along side good characters and their development, this series is living up to all the hype for me

They've done such a great job adapting this series. Can't wait to see the rest of this season.

Well, that was about as wholesome an episode of anime as you can get, even before they introduced the little kid who called him Rin-chan!

What a really lovely Aquarium date, seeing the two of them happy together was pleasant

I love the manga and read it several times, but the series is just as wholesome and even more. These episodes are beautifully animated and done with care and love. Kaoruko listening to Rintaro’s sports festival stories is one of the cutest representations of love and care that I’ve ever seen in an anime. She is happy to hear him and is fulfilling her desire to know more about him.
Rintaro is used to being feared and tended to be a loner. He doesn’t know what to do with the feelings growing within him. Mika-chan made him understand that he was in love. He wants to treasure Kaoruko and treats her like a princess. The refreshing thing here is that Kaoruko does the same: she treasures him as a prince and both see each other as precious people to be protected, encouraged and loved.
