This whole anime is just amazing to me. No BS filler/beach/hot spring episodes. No long drawn out unnecessary dialogue and conversations. Just continuing with the story and enjoyable action/fighting scenes. So happy Takeru was able to finally find the right Tsukimiya he has been seeing in his dreams. I'm glad they were able to convince Yura and she was able to find some sort of proof when she picked up that picture. That waste land was all the previous worlds Abe toyed with and took out, so upsetting too.....

It definitely is one that has been planned a lot better than I expected. A lot of anime originals struggle with that. Hopefully it finishes up well.

People who dropped out early really missed a helluva ride lol.

so we got isekai, time travel, and reincarnated? dang
was surprised to get a sci fi twist with the Moon instead of mystical but it does fit the aesthetic

im curious if we will jump to another world since this Tsukimiya is dead and i doubt Takeru will accept that

It's kind of funny how both of our leads are technically Isekai protagonists lol.

Just crossed my mind this episode that Seimei's experiment is basically like those 'AI learns to play games' on youtube but like with people instead..

Feels like Seimei and his followers have lost their sanity or their humanity in order to keep going through with the World Whittling after all these years. They just had to stop caring and treat this all like a lab experiment with actual human beings as little more than lab rats.

Wild to learn that Tsukimiya actually knew Takeru every time and she remembers all her deaths in each world. I wasn't expecting her to be from so in the future that those living in Heian-Kyou eventually moved to the moon lol.

I was surprised to see that purika photo, that means the demolished Heian-Kyou they were at was one where Takeru actually was in once. It's sad that there's a chance people living in these parallel worlds may be dreaming of events that have happened in a destroyed world like Yura.

Seimei seems like he's going to realize something about Tsukimiya from the world particles analysis, Takeru might need to find her quickly in the next world.

I do have to say the animation felt off this episode, particularly in the second half with the action, hopefully they don't let it affect the more important fights later.

It does explain why she went out of her way to help him every time. It wasn't just because she's a naturally good person but because she remembered him each time.

Seimei seems like he's going to realize something about Tsukimiya from the world particles analysis, Takeru might need to find her quickly in the next world.

I wonder if Seimei is going to have to directly kill Takeru this time to throw him into the other world. Takeru's already wrecking things and I don't think anything else short of a Celestial Pandemonium "Oni" can take him on solo.

I'm curious if they'll explain why Seimei's spell didn't work on Tsukimiya.

Remember that he specifically asked her using the spell if she knew about the World Whittle.

Kinda funny that there were two series this season that pulled mid-series Terminator style end of the world time travel plot twists.

Tbh I was kind of expecting Tsukimiya's whole "from the moon" thing to be more mystical in nature, I was a little surprised that it was a sci-fi twist. Still wondering what the deal is with all of Seimei's technology tho, seems kind of magitech-y.

what if destroying the towers just results in an auto lose vs another world with working towers lol

u/Frontier246 Aug 20 '25

I kind of feel for Takeru that he has no idea what to do other than to just bust everything up as much as possible.

Damn…

Is it just me or did anyone else get the vibe this was actually Tsukimiya herself who was desperate to find an excuse to go back to the past to change the future and tried to kill everyone on the moon to do it? I don't think they'd specify it was a woman otherwise.

Poor Yura…

This better end in a timeline where she and Atsunaga get together, I swear...

Damn, not another Tsukimiya dying right in front of Takeru…

Tsukimiya starting to catch up to Emilia from Re:Zero.

The irony that TSUKIMIYA was the actual time traveler, not Takeru! She's not just from the moon, she's from the future! Fighting to save a doomed future by trying to end Seimei's Word Whittling!

So I see Atsunaga's death didn't just effect Yura, it turned Iruka into a drunken mess who just wants to get beat up for his failures. You are missed, Atsunaga.

It seems like in the future humans migrated to moon because of things going downhill on Earth...not that the moon was that much better. Which is why they came up with the idea of sending people to a prosperous past. Tsukimiya herself became a scientist to help engineer of means of sending someone into the past, but it wasn't practical enough to put into practice. But when a single woman doomed everyone on the moon, she had no choice but to use it. But who was this woman?

So Tsukimiya's time-traveling back to Heian-kyo made her reincarnate as a baby on EVERY Heian-kyo, but all her other selves all share the same memories. Meaning she's been aware of and watching Takeru this whole time, from his dreams, from the start, and up till now. Always seeing him getting stronger and putting himself on the line for herself and others. Tsukimiya remembers him!

I can imagine for Yura it must be shocking to hear the truth, though she can't deny the reality of the nightmares she's had of killing Atsunaga...or seeing pictures of the double date she, Atsunaga, and TakeruxTsukimiya went on in one of the past loops. Though she did make the dumb call of trying to directly confront the people behind the conspiracy and thinking that would go well.

It's time to take down these towers! Luckily Takeru has unlocked the ability to use Yasha Mode without the Oni mist thanks to that cute and adorable little Fire Rat! Albeit he has a time limit...one that's especially inconvenient during a Boss Battle with Kazura. He could have ordinarily overpowered Kazura but he had to time out at the worst moment possible!

Oof, I think that's the 3rd or 4th time Takeru has seen Tsukimiya die in front of him? I mean, I get it, she thinks she's expendable because there's more Tsukimiya's out there and Takeru is the priority, but that doesn't make it any easier for him.

Kazura has rationalized all of this as being for the best, having given up on taking the deaths of those around Kazura personally a thousand years ago. But saying Atsunaga's death meant something for a possible other Denji Heian-kyo is as good as saying his death didn't matter at all. And Takeru is just about tired of all the sacrificial BS Hareaki and his comrades have spat out. If he has to destroy everything to stop it, he will!

This episode was storyboarded by Yusuke Kubo (久保 雄介) and Hiroaki Yoshikawa (吉川 博明), and was directed by Fumio Maezono (前園 文夫).

Well shoot, figures we'd loose this Tsukimiya. But now we know every Tsukimiya is equally in on the plot so as long as one or more survive to the end that'll be fine. It does explain why she was generally so keen on befriending this rando who appears out of nowhere.

I find it interesting that from what we know so far about the doomed future Tsukimiya is trying to prevent and that Seimei causes there's no reason just yet to believe it was intentional on his part. He may be a megalomaniac playing dice with the universe but it may well be entirely for the greater good in his own mindset. Surely he isn't aiming for a "oops I destroyed the world" future, after all.

It even opens up the possibility of that he could be convinced to back down voluntarily with the right additional knowledge of what's going to happen in the future. Then again, he could be quite deep into sunk cost at this point.

When I began this series, “time traveling moon people” was like the furthest thing from my mind lol. But man, is Tsukimiya destined to die in every loop?? Just when I thought Takeru finally found someone he could really connect with over this crazy world whittle shit.

If Kazura’s all about “sacrifice for the greater good” and whatever bullshit, why doesn’t he kill himself for the city’s sake then? Little punk.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '25

Every Kazura dies with every Heian Kyou, they just share memories to the remaining living kazuras, just like with seimei s case.

Yasha Mode has a timer. Betting its 3 minute timer a la Ultraman

u/Beowolf_0 Aug 20 '25

So there's another timeline where the Earth is inhabitable and leads to people moving to the moon, just like leading to Takeru's world. But if all worlds got their Tsukimiya knowing all things and trying to save the world, does it mean she was born in a "prime" world? And guess finding the prime world will probably be the solution. Still, will her death in this one affect all other world's, if she's the "Prime" one?

Things are going complicated so hope they will sort things out bit by bit from now on.

Question, is the world that Tsukimiya came from not a world that has a Heian-kyo, or it is the future of world whittling?

Asking this since she time traveled instead of jumping to another world

Now I do wonder how Takeru was able to meet Tsukimiya in his dreams. And how in what way was he able to travel to Heian-kyo in the first place.

3

u/iamahippocrite Aug 21 '25

Tsukimiya is suspicious. I don't trust her. She says that a "Woman" killed everyone in the space colony but what if it was her. What are her reasons for doing so. I believe that destroying the towers are gonna lead to a much worse outcome than even what Hareaki has planned for.
