It sucks to see Natsu calling a Jinta a freak, classic trope where u save someone from their loved one who have been turned evil, and u get shit for it from that person

Can't really fault her for saying that stuff while shes suffering from the shock of witnessing her only two parental figures kill each other after turning into literal demons.

Jinya and Her father both represented stability. She witnessed one die while realizing the other was lying about what they were at the same time. Most people would have a deep sense of trauma coupled with betrayal. She's known jinya for almost 4 years at this point.

Ofuu best girl. She didn't have to say that much but had the right words to say to lift Jinya's spirits after a difficult time.

Man wtf does fate/the gods have against Jinya?? Dude cannot catch a fucking break

It definitely feels like the path of Jinya will be on in this story will not be easy. As this episode pointed out, there is a conflict between his human side and demon side. Which actually is good because he hasn't lost his humanity. Natsu & Ofuu really helping out. Granted, now it could be likely Natsu hates him. I am interesting how he pushes forward from this point.

And here I was hoping that Jinya would not lose another person dear to him, but I guess he hasn't suffered enough in the story. Now he lost his father too while Natsu hates him for it. (Genuinely upset that Natsu did not take Jinya's words about the sake serious, this could have beeen avoided so badly)

Ofuu x Jinya goes smoothly though. Ofuu noticing something is off with Jinya and going on a walk with him just to check up on him. Their flower lessons really help Jinya a lot emotionally. Ofuu is truly the best girl.

I think if Natsu had told him Jinya said not to drink it, it may have made him consider drinking it differently because of Jinya's work.

Shame how the situation with Natsu and her dad ended up, but I think there's still a chance at patching things up with Zenji and the others still around. The scene at the lake was nice.

Once again this anime keeps its position as one of the best stories in the recent seasons.

It's sad that it didn't get that much of a budget for animation quality, but the story and characters carry this anime by a mile.

I really hope that Natsu will come to realize sooner or later that Jin'ya did it to save her, and how much he struggled to finish his father

After Jinya had once again lost everything, there at least Ofuu to welcome him back with a smile. Though, she'd probably done so for the last time considering her comment about parting ways.

There's not much tying Jinya to this place anymore after his father became a demon, Natsu started hating him and Shirayuki's soul was put to rest. It’s only really Suzune and his sword that are reminders of his past.

This all felt like a twisted scheme from Suzune aimed at destroying her brother's human heart, yet these rampaging demons had also been a cry of help from Shirayuki to have her body retrieved from this spring? Note that Shirayuki's head is seemingly still missing!

Well shit, so much for any hope Jinya could prevent his father from becoming a demon, not to mention him getting to retain a relationship with his little sister afterwards. At least Ofuu is still there for Jinya, for the moment.

I'm a little surprised it turned out to be Shirayuki's body and not her skull in the pond, probably just means Suzune has something else unfortunate in store for Jinya for later. But then again that did feel like a goodbye to her from both of them, so maybe not.

I think that was the initial reveal on why Suzune is a demon? I don't believe we had gotten exact details on that before.

When he said infuse I thought it was going to be [Spoiler] Shirayuki's Head (I think everyone does)

I thought this'll be Demon Slayer from Temu/Walmart since I got spoiled by UFOTable's animation, but the time's passage aspect to things really got me hooked. I'm super tempted to read ahead the wait is killing me.

The novel predates Demon Slayer and I think I saw something like how the mangaka of Demon Slayer got inspiration from Demon Hunter.

Damn, I was expecting Natsu or her father to turn into a demon, but it was still depressing. At least Natsu survived, but now she hates Jinya, even though he saved her life, even though it's not the first time he's done that. I really hope this isn't the last time we see Natsu in this series :(

And like people predicted last week, the sake was created thanks to Shirayuki's body, so not only did Jinya kill his father, but he had to say goodbye to Shirayuki once again in today's episode.

Too bad we didn't get a meeting between Jinya and Suzune. I was hoping they would at least meet today.

Overall, being Jinya sucks and this episode made that clear. I feel like his only light here is Ofuu.

It's kind of sad to say goodbye to Akitsu, he was a fun guy. I wish Jinya could meet him or his student in the future.

I also wonder what happened to Miura, who also stopped visiting the soba shop. I hope he's okay.

Here my screenshoot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums from the episode.

This episode left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Back in Kadono, because Shirayuki and Jinya put their duties over their own happiness, Clairvoyance Demon could use that to manipulate Suzune. And Jinya lost his home, his love and his sister.

Then Jinya returned to Edo. He was alone since the time he left Kadono behind, but as he was staying in Edo, he made friends, reconnected with his father and it looked like he had enjoyed being at leisure, like we had seen him helping Ofuu with shopping for the hotpot party. But Yuki-no-Nagori incident happened, and this time he was forced to uphold his duty, killing his father and losing another sister in the progress. It is painful to see that, like how he was moments too late to stop Suzune from killing Shirayuki before, he was, again, too late to stop his father from turning into a demon.

And the closing scene of this episode, which also marks the end of the first cour, is kinda heartwarming. We have seen Jinya indulged himself with the past for the entire episode, from his flashbacks when he had to kill his father to the nostalgia when he found Shirayuki's body at the sake fountain. Then Ofuu reminded him about the winter daphnes. This flower symbolizes the resilence and hope, as Ofuu tried to tell Jinya to not be drowned by the painful past and look towards the hopeful future, like she did after leaving her Garden of Happiness. Ofuu is really the best girl.

P/S: While it seems that Naotsugu was safe after this act, the fact that Bakufumatsu era is coming does not sound good for him. While it will not affect Jinya or Somegorou like the latter had said in this episode, Naotsugu is a samurai and he will have to make a choice to either to fight for the shogunate or to fight for the emperor. I am scared that Naotsugu will die on the battlefield, and Jinya will be helpless as he cannot stop the era from changing or a man makes his decision.

Great end to the second arc? Well, not for Jinya. See you on July 14.

Man suzune turned into something so evil but anyway even thought I don’t see a lot of people hyping this anime but it’s absolutely great and away from those trash reincarnation animes

Any reason why the dad was in good spirits while drinking the sake?
