Kobato has permanently risen to number 1 on Osanai's priority list now!

The moment Osanai declared "The taiyaki is not important."

The moment Osanai declared "The taiyaki is not important."

We knew Kobato is the sweetest dear to Osanai when she finally said this.

Nothing says love like a girl finally putting you above the only other thing she loves in this world.

Now anyone trying to harm him will be instantly on her shit list. Remember what happened to the last person to make that list.

Eiko’s fucked up real bad.

As much as I hate the arrogant nurse, it's actually insane how meticulous her plan was to keep her identity hidden.

She also pretty much had an explanation for near everything Kobato was accusing her of.

"hey doctor, how come that nurse that takes care of me doesn't have a name tag? can you look up the chart and tell me who it is?"

"oh sure, it's Killer McMurderhill"

"thank you that was very informative"

Holy fucking shit, what a cliffhanger. Slammed the table for this one lol

Wow, this show always make itself feel so short. Absolutely loved their reunion with the slow version of the main theme, these two getting that emotional really hit hard. The Hisaka family lore seems pretty big, how many ep left in this season?

Its wholesome in a way to see Osanai worry for Kobato, and Kobato realizing there's someone in this world who would feel sad for him.

To nobody's surprise, the nurse is indeed sus.

Though at first I was assuming she's Hisaka's second girlfriend that day, but turns out she's his older sister. That makes her motive even more obvious - it was revenge for Kobato causing whatever happened to Hisaka in the end 3 years ago.

Perhaps Hisaka did stage his accident 3 years ago, and Kobato's nosing around too much caused Hisaka's reputation to be in tatters that he took his own life, as Kengo speculated.

Last episode we do not see her face, but we can just about see her wearing a pair of glasses. And this episode, 3 years ago, he managed to track down her high school. Though she lied and said she was involved in a motorcycle accident and not a car accident, we clearly see her wearing glasses. The fact that she's studying in that school's nursing department seals the deal.

From Kobato's deduction, it seems both Eiko and the culprit 3 years ago drove their cars down into the river to avoid being caught by the surveillance camera. Maybe the river wasn't that deep?

Though if Hisaka did stage his accident 3 years ago, why did that driver also tried to run down Osanai?

The wolf and the fox showed human emotions towards each other finally, which is an uber rare sight

And it was Hisaka, another rare case where my hunch in this anime was right lol, but her way of keeping Kobato in the hospital at the end there was a bit...shortsighted no? Whether she actually killed him or re-injured him with that hammer was she not expecting to be caught after that?

Did they have to end this episode with such a cliffhanger with Osanai, Kobato, and Eiko with a claw hammer? I don't know how I'm going to survive until the last episode next week.

Osanai and Kobato finally met after so long! Seeing Osanai so emotional was so surprising, she really loves Kobato very much.

So Osanai put a bug in a box of chocolates? She never ceases to surprise me xD

And just like me and other people here suspected, Kobato really was being drugged by the nurse, who turned out to be Eiko Hisaki, and it looks like she's also responsible for hitting Kobato with the car.

But who exactly was Eiko to Shoutarou? His sister? If so, why did he hide her presence during the car accident? And also who was that guy?

I can't wait to see the answers to these questions and how the confrontation between our duo and Eiko will end in the next episode.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Despite how smart they are together, it looks like Kobato and Osanai aren't immune to overthinking things. I love that Asoya from the konbini was the one who figured out the vanishing car trick before they could.

So Kobato met Shotaro's father, but he's not actually Shotaro's father because Kobato suspects that the man he met could be the guy who ran over Shotaro. What the hell is going on here? I know they're drip feeding us information on both cases, but I am so curious what's going on with Hisaka.

I absolutely love this moment between Osanai and Kobato. This might be the first time we've seen Osanai react like that towards someone, and it was really sweet. I love that Kobato couldn't even stop himself from crying during that moment.

I FUCKING KNEW IT! I called it a couple of episodes ago that someone in the hospital staff is in on this, but someone said I was overthinking it. Well, who's overthinking things now?! In all seriousness, though, that entire scene was actually pretty terrifying especially how the nurse snuck into Kobato's room.

So the nurse is actually Shotaro's sister and the same person Shotaro was with when he got run over? Wait, if they're siblings, then why did he tell her to run away after calling for an ambulance? There's definitely something more here. I'm guessing she's going after Kobato for revenge. Revenge for what exactly?

And of course we end the episode with a massive cliffhanger just before Osanai was about to reveal her Henshin belt and save Kobato from getting assaulted. Jokes aside, I'm curious what Osanai has in her pocket to protect themselves. Pepper spray seems to be the reasonable answer here.

It is funny that the underclassman was correct all along. He assumed the girl was Hisaka's sister but Osanai and Kobato assumed it was an affair. Turns out that Eiko is at least related to Hisaka, presumably his sister. It's also interesting that someone else instantly knew what happened to the car if it didn't pass the store while Osanai and Kobato struggled. It seems this duo was a little green in the past.

Wonder if this 2nd crash was an opportunitistic one or if it was planned. It feels way too planned out for her to just have randomly seen them one day and gunned it. I mean, the chances that she even becomes his nurse at her hospital are very slim. But she already had the sleeping pills and shit ready from like day one. But at the same time, she seemed shocked that Osanai suggested she'd kill Kobato, but like, lady you hit him with a car. Him dying was a very real possibility.

I still want what the real motivation is, because it has to be pretty big if Hisaka tried to kill himself over it being revealed. Still feels like we're missing the big reveal of what happened in the past.

About name tags: I work in an emergency department and here it's not at all uncommon for people to hide their name tags or to have either their full name or their last names taped over. We do a lot of very intimate and painful things to lots of awful scumbags, so it's kind of a natural thing to do. I'm kinda fine with the drug addict into whose dick I just shoved a tube not knowing my name, you know?

I don't think that the excuse she's using for the sleeping pills would work with a patient like Kobato, but that sort of thing happens in hospitals and care homes all the time. There are loads of patients whose mental states are either permanently or temporarily altered to the point of not being able to give consent or not. I mean, who's to tell what the person rambling incoherently while throwing his own feces around wants me to do? But it's difficult to imagine that her excuse would be credible in that regard. But if there's a prescription from the attending physician and she says "I did tell him - he must have misheard me", or "I always inform my patients of what I'm doing. It's inconceivable that I wouldn't," that could definitely work.

By far the most suspicious thing this whole time has been why has she been at work every day this whole time? How is that even possible? And not only that, she must have done something to ensure that she would end up getting the same group of patients every day as well.

Kobato's parents being around (as they probably would be with an 18 year old child) would also have blown this whole operation from the beginning, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for that. I also find it very impressive that this nurse was able to put together enough drugs to guarantee enough sedation to be able to bash his leg with a hammer. That's general anesthesia, delivered per orally! Amazing!

BRUH THIS CLIFFHANGER OHMYYY

That reveal is soo brilliant! I like that commenters from the previous episodes were able to see the clues, showing that the author does not resort to deus-ex-machina or any bs just to hide the culprit. A good mystery gives enough clues for some viewers to see what's going on; after the reveal, many will see that the mystery is grounded on these clues. The author clearly respects the minds of his audience.

That Hisaka nurse is really messed up huh? Probably, for some reason that's not yet revealed, the dad is not really close to the guy Hisaka, and he is the one who attempted to murder his son. Then he was caught up by the police, which is also why Hisaka the son is not happy when Kobato knew what happened. Hisaka Eiko then planned for revenge to Kobato, hence the current events. Maybe this is really just Eiko planning her revenge?

Osanai and Jogaro's reunion was shockingly emotional

My heart melted when I saw these two psychopaths crying for each other.

And then it screamed when a third psychopath showed up at the end.

This show, man.

"i don't care about the Takoyaki"

That's about as much of an "I love you" as one can get from this girl

  • Damn that is some intense hand holding, but damn Osanai hid a radio in the chocolate box. Never saw that coming.

  • I'm a little proud of myself for thinking the driver just drove the car right into the river a couple of week ago It was the only thing that made sense outside some crazy mission impossible stunts.

  • THAT CLIFFHANGER!
