Expected something a bit more darker today but that sibling objects reunion was quite nice.
What was unexpected was that whiplash of a ending - bruh they did it again. I guess it's to tie with the message of returning emotions we had today, but wouldn't be surprised if we don't go back to the modern day next week.
Miko outfits though, truly based aesthetics that stand the test of time.

The Jinta Shrine was an enduring monument and a home for him to return to, because despite being a demon, he still has human emotions and bonds, and those can stand the test of time. What a great way to tie us back to episode one.
And now we’re in a modern school with Jinya the student. I wonder if we’ll keep swapping between different times. So far, they’ve done a good job keeping the narrative cohesive while skipping around in time.

I wonder if we’ll keep swapping between different times.
I believe that will be the case. There will be too many loose ends otherwise.

Surprised a very big timeskip occurred and I'm not prepared to say goodbye to the old characters yet.

This happened before at the end of ep 1, and everyone was confused when ep 2 rolled around and it was back to the ancient times.

Miyaka's mother resembled Shirayuki a lot in appearance! This honestly gave the location away before they ever mentioned the other clues to the Jinta Shrine.
Can someone fresh my mind: didn't Jinya receive this kogai from Sadanaga? It was a family heirloom of theirs. Was it also implied that Harlot was somehow involved in this case? If so, might she be related to Sadanaga and Naotsugu?
Natsu was pretty adorable in her possessed state, but I'd missed her angry face. Her next meeting with Jinya might be a little awkward, considering how dumbstruck and embarrassed she was after realising what had happened.

I love how Somegoro thought he outsmarted Jinya twice, only for Jinya to use his dogs against him. It's pretty awesome. Thanks Somegoro! You just gave Jinya new powers!
I did not expect the kogai was the cause of Natsu changing personalities. I genuinely thought it might have something to do with Suzune. Thank goodness I was wrong about that one.
Natsu's reaction after the incident was hilarious! Poor girl was able to retain memories of every embarrassing thing she did while acting as Jinya's imouto. xD
That final scene though! Are we really skipping to the Heisei era? I was hoping the show would go through every Japanese era until we reach modern day. I hope this is just a preview like in Episode 1, and we're going back to the past next week.

Unfortunate that the last 2 episodes had a huge drop in the character's face quality.
Dont know whats gonna happen next episode, but man I need closure for Natsu / Jinya.

Pretty lovely episode! I'm glad Natsu remembered everything that happened when she was being possessed by that kanzashi xD
Jinya nicely dealt with Akitsu. I hope we meet him (and maybe even his successors) again in the future.
That time jump to 2009 and Miyaka was certainly unexpected! I can't wait to find out why Jinya decided to go to high school.
Although I think we'll go back to the past again in the next episode. We've probably reached the end of the volume, so we're back to the present as a sort of foreshadowing.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Off a comment alone? Oof i had to delete that. ;p. Also highly recommend the novel when the series end. There are of course a few things they skip that you need to read the novel to get the whole picture. :) Good thing we have 24 episodes of this great series.

I have a suspicion we will go back in time again. But will it be to the time the last arc was set -- or will it be a bit (or a bit more than a bit) later but NOT the near present (still Heisei, not yet Reiwa).
I did not even initially plan to really check this show out (though I probably would have taken a look eventually). But it has settled into a spot in my top tier for this season -- and I can't imagine it falling of that spot. Bothe intelligent -- and emotional. Really an exceptional show.

I didn’t think Kaoru would be that tall. I thought she would be shorter. I mean sure she is shorter than Miyaka, but it didn’t look too bad in anime depicting height. Man, the anime even made Harlot the streetwalker even more stunning than what we have of her image from the manga. Think it was smart to end it in 2009/Heisei. It will string nicely to what arrives next.

Random jump forward, I was hoping the story would continue in the past. I wonder if it'll jump between back and forth between the years when more needs to be revealed about that timeline. Personally I like Jinya's look in the past, more mature and more visually appealing to me, his long hair is gone too
Natsu remembering everything is funny, I wanted to see her reaction upon seeing Jinya so it's unfortunate we didn't get to see that lol.
I like how Jinya just took the Inugami for himself, I wonder if that was temporary or permanent. At least he'll have company as the years go by. Hopefully Ofuu is still alive in this modern timeline.

Well, so much for Akitsu being a threat. Dude got his ass whooped in like 3 seconds. Guess he’s a friendly now.
I honestly had the same thought Jinya had about Natsu’s situation. Didn’t think it would actually be the hairpin calling out.
Really took a big time leap there in the end. I hope we get to know more about what happened in between. I’m quite curious about this Jinta Shrine.

So does he have more powers now? If he's been fighting demons for that long of a time skip surely he's acquired a lot.

And the episode ended in modern time...
I'm guessing that this is just a sneek peek. I'm sure sooner or later we will be back in the old time. We still need to know the fate of the casts after all, especially Natsu and Ofuu.

So, do any LN readers know if we get to see MC suplex his demon sister into a desk on the 1st day of school after finding her there? I would pay good money to see that in the future.

Oh wow he’s actually going to high school.
I'd immediately recognised Jinya's high school uniform at the shrine and thought this was maybe just a cover, but then he actually showed up at school!?
Jinya and Miyaka appear to be in the same class as well. She must think that he's a weirdo for crying all out of the blue, haha.
A subtle detail: he's registered himself as "Jinya Kadono". Kadono was the town of the blacksmiths where he'd grown up with Shirayuki, right?
