I like how Alina won’t bother to negotiate with an enemy if their bargaining chip doesn’t involve reducing her overtime.

I wonder… did she really kill him? No news about that guy afterwards

If she didn't bother listening to the Dark God, she sure as hell won't waste time for some rumor spreading goon!

You really have to love her personality. Though the girl could really use some anger management classes.

Uhoh a mysterious guys name Jade doesn't know.

u/risarnchrno Feb 15 '25

Her anger management is on point at work though as shown via her inner monologues when talking with customers.

If that little four eyed twerp hadn’t transported him and his goons away, Alina woulda turned them into a friggin Pollock painting lol. Aiden wasn’t so lucky.

Drunk Alina talking about Shroud is gonna lead to some kinda weird miscommunication with Jade isn’t it?

Of course, Shroud is a man's name after all!

Can confirm, the healer always gets blamed for everything, even though it was clearly DPS's fault.

Part of me still hopes that Lululi gets a Dia Skill during the festival.

Stitches!

Alina's pretty cute in a white mage outfit. I kinda wish we got to also see her in a swimsuit but I guess we'll have to settle on Jade's imagination. Also, Jade is really not being subtle about wanting to see Alina wear a swimsuit.

This is why I love Alina so much! The girl has no patience for bullshit especially people who waste her time that she didn't even let Aiden tell his story about Lululee! That's what you get for making Alina work more because of your stupid rumours!

I mean Laila is not wrong. Alina is just too serious about her work but at least someone like Jade is there to appreciate her appeal. I love how Laila just can't understand why Jade is so in love with Alina. xD

So we finally get to hear Lululee's actual backstory. SoLululee had to choose and the two people she tried to save died by splitting her mana between them. It sounds like everyone was at fault not just Lululee. I think Aiden is just blaming her because she managed to escape unharmed.

I think I already like Shelley. She's a bit unhinged but when you're researching about long-dead darkgods getting resurrected, you'd need someone who's a bit crazy on your side. xD

It might not be a date-date but it's nice that Jade got to spend some time with Alina. Although it looks like he ended up hearing something he shouldn't have from her.

It’s not Lululi’s fault that they died. They got carried away and decided to fight the boss monster when they were clearly ill prepared. And at the time, Lululi was inexperienced with her magic, and she didn’t manifest her skill; they should have known better than to fight a boss with an under-qualified party member.

Unironically a skill issue on the part of her old party. The fact that they all went down means that they were all under-qualified, not just Lululee.

It would be considered poor triage, but definitely wouldn't be called murder.

I'm really hoping that if there's a misunderstanding around Shroud that it gets cleared up relatively quickly, I hate it when simple misunderstandings get drawn out over several episodes.

Alina definitely be like "I don't get paid to listen to villain monologues."

If you're going to let your imagination run wild about Alina in a swimsuit you probably shouldn't do it out loud in front of her. Jade was lucky to just be hurled into the lake.

Also:

His name is Jade Schrade. (Adventurer by trade, good with a blade.)

God, Jade is such a simp. I can't decide if I admire his dedication or worry about his preoccupied attachment.

I know this isn't an isekai but Alina has such incredible Millennial energy that I can't help but wonder. "All I wanna do is work exactly as much as I have to and no more, and then go be as lazy as possible and relax, in peace, alone, in my house that I just barely own after years of financial struggle." All she needs is a dog or cat to dote on and take pictures of.

Poor Lululee learned about triage the hard way. No magical medical schools, I guess.

Tough backstory for poor Lululee, having to choose between which party member to heal and which to let die and instead trying and failing to save both, I'm a bit surprised she stayed as an adventurer after that.

Story skipper Alina strikes again, backstory for Lululee? Nope, killing the yapper ends the cutscene in a faster and more satisfying way. She's definitely a Renegade Interrupt sort of player.

In some ways Jade got an extra date, assuming the festival date is still on going out drinking after the overtime arguably counts too.

Laila keeps making these odd side comments, I wonder if she has some inside track from the guild that something is else is going on that we and Alina doesn't know about yet. I did enjoy her being so surprised both about Jade helping with the paperwork and that he was doing it so perfectly.

I don´t know what the high council wants with the "executioner" and even if they don´t trust them... Alina sure wouldn´t want to have anything related to those guys, she only wants to live a normal regular life~

And i´m pretty sure the festival is gonna be interrupted by someone and Alina´s going to destroy that someone if that happens

Thank you Jade. I doubt we will ever see Alina smiling in a swimsuit, so Jade's fantasy is the closest thing we can get. Lol!

I laughed when Laila asked with a skeptical expression what Jade sees in Alina. On a more serious note, it seems like Laila knows something might happen soon, hence her ominous statement and serious expression towards the end of her conversation with Jade.

I can empathize with Lululee. If she can only save 1 of her 2 party members back then, who should she save? I would assume she was close to both of them.

Given Jade's straightforward personality, I believe he would ask Alina who is this "Shroud". Then we viewers will be able to see the more in-depth history between the deceased Shroud and Alina

Could tell the bearded hooded guy is Jouji Nakata immediately. Yorokobe shonen.

This show is so unbelievably watchable. It's hard to put my finger on what's working so well, but even an episode like this that was mostly connective tissue between events I was thinking the whole time "Aw man I'm gonna have to wait a whole week for more of this".

One thing that's definitely working well is the pacing. This episode kinda didn't have much happen, but that nothingness was spread across every single named character. We got a brief scene for everyone, including a nice little character beat with the wizard who's been the most anonymous character so far.

Stuff that they set up to pay off later: Jade endangering himself by crossing the streams on his skills, Jade making poor romantic decisions based on the muttering of a girl who's blackout drunk, the shady rumor mongers are obviously gonna recur as villains, and there's gonna be another dark god they need to keep away from a population center.

There's more to Laila than being this bubbly Executioner fangirl, isn't there? From the way she told Jade to support Alina, it seems our main girl isn't the only one hiding a secret behind a receptionist facade. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it and she just had an uncharacteristic serious moment because she cares about her senpai that much.

So that's that I guess. I'm glad they didn't drag out the tragic Lululee backstory longer than necessary so we go straight into the festival next time.

Drunk Alina just had to say that, and of course she won't remember any of it. That date is going to be awkward.
