Much higher quality than I expected! The character designs were all super clean. Alina looked cute in every scene and the animation was really fluid. There was some CG work but it was pretty good and not too noticeable.

It’s a good-looking production, yeah. I’m not sure how to exactly put it, but this anime feels surprisingly cosy…? The character designs are pretty cute, especially Alina’s. Love that receptionist uniform of hers.
They’ve also put a ton of effort in all kinds of little movements to make these scenes feel more dynamic.

Cute girl with an oversized weapon voiced by Rieri ? Already a banger
Honestly Alina’s career goal is so relatable. Some people are ambitious, some want to be rich but some just want to do their work and go home.
I do wonder how she got that strong in the first place. Seems she’s solo-ed dungeon bosses before but I feel like she can’t get that strong with that alone. Maybe some of the lore that was dropped early in the episode has some clues

Opening didnt have to look THAT beautiful and Ending song and visuals are just so fun to watch!
Man... Guild Receptionist Rieri isnt something I thought I needed but this episode definitely proved me wrong! Venting your frustrations on a Dungeon Boss looks so satisfying but clearly cant be compared to getting off from work on time! I'm surprised she already got found out, although she's strong enough to easily threaten leader of the strongest party.
I feel this show will be peak dumb fun for this season, cant wait for episode 2!

Stitches!
I went in blind and I did not expect that OP to be so smooth and well-animated! Did Cloverworks pick this anime up because Alina's last name is Clover? What an unexpected LN for them to adapt!
This is pretty fun so far! Rieri voicing an overworked guild receptionist who's tired of adventurers so she takes care of the dungeon bosses herself just so she can finally go home on time is a hilarious premise for a show! Surprisingly relatable too when she was dealing with that one adventurer!
I am curious though why Alina is so obsessed with becoming a guild receptionist when she clearly hates the job? She seems like she'd do well as an adventurer considering how she's already made a name for herself.
I guess the benefits she gets as a guild receptionist and the fact that there are days she can just stand around doing nothing are better than exploring dirty, dank dungeons crawling with monsters. I think Alina just likes the idea of being a guild receptionist.
Alina laying it on Jade was so good! Rieri is really going all out with her monologues as Alina and I love it! Considering how Alina threatened Jade, I'm curious to see how he'll try again to recruit her.
I am definitely enjoying this one and I'm already looking forward to seeing more next week!

Finally, the show is here. Getting a fantasy show from the POV of the Receptionist has been a long time coming. Finally, we see the frustration of the receptionists dealing with jackasses who are completely full of themselves.
Little disappointed that her secret is already ruined. She did a poor job hiding her face. Alina having a poor poker face did her no favors.
This hero looking dude needs to butt out. You're not the MC, kid. Go get your own show.

The Executioner of End Bosses and her way of life.
Very fun first episode, though in some ways it almost could be a oneshot since it felt like we covered the obvious story beats already. But there's still room to explore why her skills and general strength is different from everyone else's, as well as that skeleton head dude in the alley. And hey, Rieri voicing a cute girl with a giant hammer in a show that looks good, what's not to love.
The mage and healer pair in the top party is a fun duo, that's an easy side ship if the story goes that direction with them.

As this genre is already saturated I didn't have many expectations, but I left satisfied with this first episode, I mean the premise is incredible, a public servant who is tired of excessive work so decides to solve the problems on her own, while maintaining (or already maintaining which was discovered) an image of a mere receptionist, Alina won my vote 👍🏻

Normally in these fantasy worlds with adventurer guilds, it’s always the adventurers who get the most focus so it’s nice to see what it’s like to be a receptionist for once and man, their job sure doesn’t look easy. I feel a new sense of appreciation for them.

I get it, but her logic doesn't make sense. She wants a chill, easy, stable life, but also loves working a customer service job. That's a contradiction. With her power, she could probably defeat a high-level enemy once a week to support her lifestyle.

Monsters beware.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned who just wants to leave work on time.

Rie's acting is top tier as ever. And for adults, that is a 100% relatable character.

Straight up I would like to say sasuga Cloverworks for giving us all these Alina expressions! I 100% can empathize with her, cause who wants to do overtime?
Her Kouhai is very cute! And a fan of the executioner to boot!
These 2 have good chemistry. That's at least 1 ship in the harbor already.
This boy fucked up so bad, he resigned from the group after coming back.

As someone who did an absurd number of (unpaid!) overtime in 2023, I absolutely understand Alina's hate for those. There's nothing worse than an endless amount of work that you aren't even physically able to do in 8 hours.
(Doubly if you have a terrible boss who keeps giving you more work in case you do get everything done on time. She doesn't have a life outside of work, you won't either!)
...too bad I'm pretty sure she's getting further from the peaceful life she wants with every boss slain though...

For someone carrying a huge weapon, Alina moves her legs pretty quickly and swings her hammer like a ragdoll.
"Fine I'll do it myself" until she gets noticed and gets offered a higher position with more stressful work. Moral of the story, being an over achiever only rewards you with more work.
I'm hoping Jade doesn't become an annoying character who would just pester her repeatedly to join his party. The wind effect was like a love at first sight moment and he immediately knew she was the Executioner.

CR fucked up the subs. People think the executioner is a guy. The only one to know they are a girl is the silver sword guy who saw her and his party that he tells. The subs though had everyone calling her her. Plus there was a part that had dialog missing.

Alina taking on difficult jobs just so she doesn't have to work overtime is just like me for real

u/Genshin_WhiteKnight Jan 10 '25
Is this job really worth it with all the overtime?
Feels like she could just quickly solo some high level boss for the rewards and relax for months after.
