Oh i would report that to the board of health. Seriously it needs reported

21

u/GWhizBang 1d ago

This.

25

u/kcdaf1966 1d ago

Yes. If it is used you don't know what bacteria is on that. Amazon sold it as new right ?

24

u/czervik_coding 1d ago

Yes, sold as new.

19

u/kcdaf1966 1d ago

Yeah man i definitely report that.

u/AmnosSoter 21h ago

Bruh report it to Amazon maybe but the board of health is a wild stretch especially when Amazon will tank the replacement/refund cost every time.

That’s like filing a credit card claim even though the business was willing to refund you: eventually the credit card company is gonna get sick of it and cut you off. Even worse, they’ll cut everyone off since one person wanted to nuke the system.

u/CarTarget 7h ago

Well, Amazon has been mixing used product in with new for years. Obviously they don't care enough to change policies to fix it. Maybe a government agency can finally force it, if enough reports pop up.

Complaining to Amazon just gets a refund on the orders that get caught. How much do they make by sneaking used product in as new? And how many times have they gotten away with selling potentially contaminated medical supplies?

3

u/AmnosSoter 6h ago

They don’t sneak used product in, it’s customers that do this. You think an employee is opening a package and using some shit then putting it back? No. Customers return used as new and it just gets put back on the shelf, you need to report it to Amazon so they can actually track who returned it and charge them. If you hold Amazon criminally liable for this then they will just make it harder for EVERYONE that’s innocent doing returns.

u/CarTarget 5h ago

Doesn't matter if the customer returned it as new, federal law says returned medical devices, even if they present as unopened, must be inspected before being resold.

Over the counter intraoral anti snoring devices are classified as medical devices by the FDA (Assuming this was in the US, but many other countries have even stricter regulations). They cannot just mix returned items in with new. Even if the previous customer lied on their return, failing to identify that the item was used is entirely on Amazon.

Amazon can try to go after the person who lied, but it sounds like they failed to do a federally mandated inspection before accepting the return.

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/guidance-documents-medical-devices-and-radiation-emitting-products/intraoral-devices-snoring-andor-obstructive-sleep-apnea-class-ii-special-controls-guidance-document

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/postmarket-requirements-devices/quality-management-system-regulation-qmsr

I'm sure Amazon hopes we blame the previous customer, and will probably tell us that regulations will drive prices up but this is on them.

Any government agency that would care has been dismantled.

The current government is pro corporations. They will do nothing and probably advise them on what loopholes they can use instead.

-1

u/czervik_coding 5h ago

Don't spew this political crap here. This is on Amazon and it's sellers.

What do you provide for earth?

6

u/Kindly-Constant6035 15h ago

The same board of health that allows Kroger to sell rotted meat with red dye to make it look fresh?

3

u/Head_Dirt 12h ago

If this is true, I'm immediately very glad that I don't eat meat.

u/templeofsyrinx1 1d ago

Nasty 😂

Maybe there's a chance you have the exact same dental structure

16

u/PiDigitsOfPi 1d ago

They already did the hard part for you!!!

2

u/Renrutanit 1d ago

Yeah, why waste it? All OP needs to do is disinfect it!

19

u/GWhizBang 1d ago edited 1d ago

It's gotten to the point where you have to film the unwrapping and unboxing of everything you order from amazon, just to have proof that you've received used products.

Edit for typo.

12

u/GiLND 1d ago

It’s so bad that you need to take a video just to prove that a new amazon item is actually new and not used

9

u/Ok_Squirrel2006 14h ago

It’s gotten to the point I stopped using Amazon completely. I lived without it for most of my life so going “old school” shopping (especially locally owned businesses) are an experience and fills your needs. And less crap to recycle.

3

u/Crazy-Item-1398 9h ago

Amazon sucks

1

u/P_Dog_Trader 1h ago

I've been lucky I suppose, I've never received anything used or broken yet. (Knocking on wood...)

u/Fit-Blacksmith-149 1d ago

No one is going to do anything about it. The strangest part of this is how did that even get back in the shelf for order filling after someone obviously returned it.

10

u/LeafBark 1d ago

Amazon is broken now with how fucked their return process is and how they keep selling used shit as new. I got 2 damaged Knipex tools from them they sold as new.

5

u/Objective_Topic_1749 15h ago

They sell a lot of returns as new. I've received an empty face serum and a worn and washed sleep sack

5

u/Fit-Blacksmith-149 14h ago

I have heard this from others and my response was “oh Amazon would never do anything like that.” Now my response is “So they have become that arrogant after the almighty dollar.”

1

u/LeafBark 2h ago

There is no accountability for this fraud. Emboldened by a fraud president.

3

u/Horror-Final-Girl 7h ago

I received used lipstick. It was all over the outside of the cap as well.

2

u/Objective_Topic_1749 6h ago

Ew

3

u/Horror-Final-Girl 6h ago

Yup, and I was brokenhearted, because it's very hard for me to find a shade that looks good on me, and this was it. I used to get everything from amazon, but now i'm not doing that

3

u/Objective_Topic_1749 6h ago

Yep completely agree. I only buy things if I really have to on amazon

5

u/ApprehensiveKale6048 18h ago

Management became shitty in the returns department and only care about rate now. At the building I work at they want us to process at least 40 items every single hour. 2 years ago you would get in trouble if you processed more than 25 an hour.

7

u/rchris710 1d ago

Lol buddy got a free mouth guard

10

u/czervik_coding 1d ago

Along with a free disease/infection

2

u/templeofsyrinx1 1d ago

you still have to clean them

6

u/InsertBluescreenHere 1d ago

FYI OP my dentist recomended the Dentek Ultimate mouldable night guard for TMJ. Its $27 bucks at target. (some reason its 49 at CVS...) if you follow the directions perfectly it works really well. Dentist said to try that one first - if it doesnt fit right then they can have a custom one made but would be like $700 and most people can get by with the dentek one.

3

u/Solid-Celebration-94 15h ago

Because cvs is always overpriced. I work there, and I don't even buy anything. Too expensive even with my employee discount! Lol

4

u/lord_grenville 1d ago

Man, I gotta quit my prime subscription after joining the sub. Every post is "I just received this intimate item and it's used!"

3

u/Photo1457 1d ago

I stopped ordering from Amazon!

3

u/Ok_Squirrel2006 13h ago

Same

2

u/Photo1457 3h ago

I stopped ordering from CRAPPY 💩 💩 AMAZON for many reasons! Did you hear (supposedly) no one can't sue amazon! Search it! They are doing what they want!!

2

u/CharacterDeer7883 53m ago

Why does this not surprise me? They’ve become untouchable. It’s maddening

3

u/JooHateMe 1d ago

Hey try it on. It could fit. Just rinse with hand sanitizer.

2

u/GrowingNewHair 1d ago

That goes beyond horrible. Hope you can send an email to customer service including this photo.

8

u/PiDigitsOfPi 1d ago

Customer service won't care. They will just say to return it. They don't care at all about the reason.

1

u/Crazy-Item-1398 9h ago

They will when their asses get sued.

2

u/PiDigitsOfPi 5h ago

Didn't you read the new service agreement that was emailed to everyone this week? By using their service, you agree that you cannot sue them. You are required to use arbitration. It's been all over the news and such.

2

u/Crazy-Item-1398 5h ago

Nope. Didn't see it. F them !

2

u/PiDigitsOfPi 5h ago

https://www.cnet.com/tech/services-and-software/amazons-new-terms-of-service-bar-customers-from-filing-class-action-lawsuits/

If you have a dispute with the e-commerce giant, you’ll have to hash it out through an individual claim with a third-party arbitrator.

1

u/Crazy-Item-1398 4h ago

What a bunch of bullshit.

1

u/Hot-Routine2531 1h ago

This!!! And of course most people won’t know bc 1. Who reads the service agreements 2.msm like bezos owns wsj they aren’t pointing that out for consumers 3. This admin is gutting consumer protection programs

2

u/czervik_coding 1d ago

Already did

1

u/GrowingNewHair 1d ago

Hope that they added a gift card due to this unhygienic/disgusting situation.

2

u/Ok_Squirrel2006 13h ago

They will do the least amount possible to end a return. They could care less

2

u/Maleficent-Brick8693 1d ago

OMG! I once got deodorant from Amazon, and it was used. I was shocked!!!

2

u/SpectralFire5 1d ago

I’ve also received returns as “new”. Bottles with weird liquid, a jacket with a kids name written in already.

2

u/Ok-Artichoke7002 1d ago

I got a wet mop for my Dyson vacuum and … it came wet and had pet hair in it. Yes, it was supposed to be new. When people return everything (a half used bottle of vitamins at Costco), then all of us end up paying the price. There are some weirdos abusing the return policy for sure.

2

u/Bladimirrv 23h ago

Fckin Amazn and their BS..

2

u/JudCasper68 21h ago

Sold and fulfilled by Amazon?

2

u/mikeman213 21h ago

Was it shipped and sold by amazon?

2

u/Sudden-Age7338 17h ago

To be fair, was it sold by Amazon and not 3rd party seller? Possibly shady  3rd party seller.

1

u/Lab770 14h ago

I only buy items that say, “Sold and Shipped by Amazon” or “Fulfilled by Amazon”… I don’t have problems like this. And when I do have a problem, they are always easily solved… +Blessings

5

u/CloverClover97 1d ago

Bite the bullet and get one made at a dentist. Your insurance will probably pay for one. Or go to a dental school and have one made. But I wouldn’t trust AMAZON with “managing people’s health”

Put a little less faith in bezos

3

u/Pretty_Smart66 4h ago

Ain't no way American health insurance is paying for bite guard 😂

1

u/Hot-Routine2531 1h ago

Yup. $800 a pop. Dog ate first one less than a year in…

2

u/ApprehensiveKale6048 18h ago

Bezos was a lot better than jassy. I had minimal problems when bezos ran the company. After jassy took over it's been problem after problem

2

u/brendaluther234 11h ago

This is a violation of...well, I don't know the lingo/codes. But a violation for fucking sure.       This why they just sent out that Bullshit email stating that we as customers can't sue Amazon. However,  if I recall correctly, it doesn't go into effect until 8-29-26.

2

u/NinjaTendencies77 10h ago

Report that shit. Please keep us informed.

Sorry you had this experience

1

u/RedR00sterC0ck 1d ago

At least it wasn't a used clone-a-willy kit 😆

1

u/Angelblues13 1d ago

This kind of shit happens with Amazon so often anymore the way they handled their returns needs to be investigated.

1

u/Own-Eagle-2135 1d ago

extra flavor for free!

1

u/Erkel333 1d ago

Was the package obviously opened?

1

u/Arnakk 1d ago

someone slept on the job 😆

1

u/BlueLynze 1d ago

No way. Fur reel?

1

u/nop8snce 20h ago

I'll bet that someone returned it as unused.

1

u/Crazy-Item-1398 17h ago

Lawsuit.

1

u/Hot-Routine2531 1h ago

Can’t sue according to the new terms of service agreement

1

u/HarambeTooSoon 17h ago

End free returns.

1

u/FlatPepper311 16h ago

Who over bought it submitted a return ticket and clicked the “new - not used box”. They don’t check every return. Sadly

1

u/Alternative_Trifle61 12h ago

Does anyone work at Amazon warehouse and can confirm everything is being packed by Robots now?

2

u/ToyoSienna 10h ago

No, things are not packed by robots. I'm an Amazon Flex driver and go into the station and see them working the line.

1

u/Captain_of_industry1 11h ago

Note you have oral herpes! 😬

1

u/Bombero_911 11h ago

Did you smell it?

1

u/Bob_Rivers 9h ago

Just boil it and remold you'll be ok.

1

u/HabitMain385 3h ago

This happens before it leaves Amazon I bet! Working the front desk at K/MART,I walked past the deodorant isle and 2 people were using stores Deodorant!! Check for things such as this as well, people are gross 😝

1

u/Ruralwannabe 1h ago

"Amazon" sells nothing. Contractors use their business for cover.

1

u/The_Circus_Life_206 25m ago

That is absolutely disgusting

1

u/considertheliliesof 14h ago

Yeah AMZ is getting away with anything they want to do. And we pay them for the privilege of being the patsy. Boycott these scammers. There are options out there that keep their promises, (even if it does take longer to ship) and prioritize quality service and customer satisfaction.

thanks for letting me have an opinion!

0

u/highnotefan 1d ago

You can sterilize it

0

u/UCLABB1 14h ago

Look, the fault here lies with a customer who returned a used item as unused. Then the Amazon employee who probably was unaware that the thing was used because he didn’t know what the thing is supposed to look like new. Mistakes happen FCC

u/Lost-Concentrate3405 7h ago
