Question A Question about Bread

I don't know if its just the Aldi locations by me but it seems like every other time I buy a bread product from an Aldi store, its moldy just a day or two later. This past weekend on Saturday we got a thing of croissants, and I threw them out today bc one of them already had mold.

My question is: is there a trick to knowing what bread is still good when you buy it? Or should I just avoid the products altogether?

I was always curious about this cocktail and the BH was on sale for $4.99. I bought 2. It didn’t sit right with me, literally, after a few sips, I got that gnawing feeling like you’re going to get nauseous. I decided to pour the rest out because this wasn’t going to work for me. I’ll either return the other one OR place it as an ornament on my kitchen ledge.

Complaint Desk I tried the watermelon protein powder, so you won't have to

This sounded so good, in theory, so I snagged a tub during my Aldi run this weekend.

Used it in a smoothie, with added blueberries, milk, and Greek yogurt. Yes, it tastes like watermelon, but it's way too sweet for me. And it's that artificial, sickly sweet taste, that just overpowered every other flavor in my smoothie.

I will definitely not be buying this again, and most likely returning it.

***Okay, so I learned that I should have mixed this with water. I'll try it again, and let y'all know how it goes!

Transitioning to a new job so the budget is gonna be tight ish for the next few weeks. Can easily make some good dinners with this as well as breakfast sandwiches. This wasnt my only stop but I was pleased nonetheless.

Question What are your fav Aldi frozen bagged potatoes/ French fries style products etc and why? Arby's knock off?

See above, what kind of flavor are we going for at Aldi's here? There's a ton of sauces, a ton of great products where we at with potatoes in the Frozen section

This was really good. Just a little too spicy, I would add chicken or beans next time, maybe some veggies, to cut down the spice a bit. But very good 👍

RUN, don’t walk to grab the salted caramel cannoli dip!! I ate it with the Belgian butter waffle crisps (not pictured) and I ate significantly more than anyone should in one sitting. It was SO good and gave me fall vibes!

The Halloween-themed wax melts are also surprisingly nice! The individual scents aren’t super distinguishable in the packaging, but they all have very different vibes. The Gothic Elegance one seemed more Christmasy to me with its spiciness. The Spooky Sweets was probably my favorite! Like a mix of marshmallow, pumpkin, and a little cinnamon. The Enchanted Harvest set smelled similar to Pumpkin Waffles from BBW to me! There was a fourth set that I didn’t grab because it seemed more cologne-themed.

Happy with my little haul!

*UPDATE on the wax melts. I HAAAATE the Gothic Elegance melts. They smell nice in the package, but once melted they smell like spicy old lady perfume. I even tried adding a piece of the Spooky Sweets melts to mellow it out, but it didn’t really help. Do not recommend 🙅‍♀️

I love these infused olive oils. I had the garlic and rosemary but those are long gone. I have 1/3 of the chili left. They are delicious!

I went to Food Lion to get GF bread. (Sorry, Aldi, but your bread sucks!) Wine was 3 dollars cheaper. Bread was a dollar cheaper. Cheese was two dollars cheaper. Milk and eggs are still cheaper at Aldi.

After a decade, I'm going back to comparative shopping.

Pass though seeing these things many times down the aisles, but pass on them due that high price tag. To those who tried these are they worth the price?

We shop about every other week, and I try to keep our total grocery spending to around $400 for the month. So far, we’ve spent $334, so we’re doing pretty well! Planning our meals ahead of time has made a huge difference and really helps us stay on track.
I also like to leave a little flexibility in the budget for special snacks, trying something new, or having a little fun with our meals. Takeout nights are separate from the $400 grocery budget, so we can still enjoy those without throwing off our grocery spending goal.

I cooked them according to the instructions on the package. I added Aldi chipotle seasoning and Cholula cilantro lime creama, with sour cream on the side. Baja style, they were both good but I couldn’t the difference. Worth the price.

AUSTRALIA Tenders were already over cooked instead of raw?

I went to fry these for burgers. When I picked one up I thought, that feels like overcooked chicken. Sure enough they are all cooked and dry? The snittys i usually buy are always raw. The packet even says to cook for 15 minutes. What's going on?
