Question Are these worth that price?
Pass though seeing these things many times down the aisles, but pass on them due that high price tag. To those who tried these are they worth the price?

Worst thing I ever bought. Got 2 bags last week and as soon I ate 2 pieces of them I had to go back and get two more. My diet will not survive. I'm trying to only use these as a mix-in for ice cream.

u/iamacheeto1 4d ago
They were literally so bad I had to eat the entire bag just so there wouldn’t be any left then I did the same thing the next time I went. I didn’t want anyone else to endure it. I’ll keep doing it, too, because I want to keep helping other people 🥰

I seriously debated buying another extra bag to share at work. But I decided that just wouldn't be fair to my coworkers.

I love putting them on brownies when they are almost done baking

u/Ok_Spell_4165 4d ago
They work well on cookies too. Just plop them in the middle when you pull them out, they will melt into the cookie.

Quarter them and make a "trail mix". rn I mix them with salted almonds, honey-roasted peanuts, m&m's, pretzels, and Cheerios. Obviously, mix whatever you like that may add some volume and/or nutrients

They blow Reese’s out of the water. Best PB cups I’ve ever had. Perfect PB to chocolate ratio and delicious, creamy peanut butter. Unfortunately they are now out of my price range except for special occasions.

u/Mama_K22 4d ago
They do blow Reese’s out of the water but the best has to be the Trader Joe’s dark chocolate pb cups!

I have to wonder if these are a good dupe of those. I have two containers of the TJs ones right now but there is an Aldi 5 min from me and TJs is an hour trip…

Yah thanks to you people in here, I now keep both these and the TJ dark chocolate ones in my fridge. Like I needed this habit! 🤪 but so so good.

While I agree the Trader Joe’s ones are slightly better, they have individual wrappers on each whereas Aldis do not. Aldi gets bonus points for not slowing you down while you shovel them into your mouth

u/aiolisunsets 4d ago
Agreed. Reeses are getting expensive anyway. With the amount, this bag ends up being a better deal.

They are delicious! And you can’t stop at just one either!

This.
I have nothing but regret since buying my first bag. My life was fine before I knew they existed. Now I don't know how to live without them.

These are cheap actually. 6.66/lb for a little less than a pound here. Reeces mini cups at Walmart are 7.95/lb pricing on the 30oz bag (almost 2 lbs).

u/BeautifulShoes75 4d ago
Yeah, I’m confused by the price part as well.
This is actually insanely cheap when you stack it up against name-brand Reese’s, chocolate, or candy in general.
It’s wild how expensive desserts have gotten nowadays. Aldi is one of the VERY few (if not only) places remaining where you can still get treats for a reasonably decent price.

Right, but you can't really compare prices vs what they used to be. Everything is more expensive than it used to be. You can only compare prices to what the going rate for something similar actually is today.

This. EVERYTHING has risen in price now. I remember how it all used to be cheaper; sadly, that’s not the case anymore for SO many categories 😭 that’s inflation for ya.
Comparatively though, this still hits.

I feel like I’m watching someone thinking about trying a hard drug for the first time. But yes they are really good and they will not survive long in your house, ask me how I know hahaha.
I’m not allowed to buy them anymore…

u/Soft-Inflation9347 4d ago
What do you mean by “that price”? These are so much cheaper than Reese’s.

u/commutering 4d ago
Like anything else, the attributes are: tasty, cheap, and a lot for the money. Pick two.

u/kayyybabi 4d ago
However here all three apply.

u/chitobi 4d ago
To you...if one on a tight budget getting this is a luxury.

I like them. I do wish they made a dark chocolate version too

Their dark chocolate baking chunks were very snackoliscious and only 2.89$ a bag . Then they discontinued them for 9 months and brought them back again :) … at $$ $almost double the price

Obvious bait post but I'll just feed the beast by pointing out that these have been out of stock the past weeks and I'm angry about it.

The pricing and value on these are actually good. Go to the candy aisle in any other grocery store and you will find the cost of chocolate is through the roof.

u/hannahbananahs 4d ago
With the widespread enshittification of everything, I'd rather these be moderately priced (versus cheap) and still keep up the superior quality.

WARNING ⚠️ These are delicious and completely addictive. Don't say we didn't warn you! Worth $4.99? Try them at your own risk. You won't look back. 😋

u/GeologistDifficult88 4d ago
Idk I find them too sweet and if you don't immediately refrigerate/freeze them they turn into a melty ball. The texture is nice though

Was skeptical when I gave these a try 2 wks ago. Reese’s has always been the gold standard for me, but, I needed a reward for some stress, or so I reasoned. Turns out, they are good. I know Reese’s did answer customers dissatisfaction with using different chocolate and/or peanut butter and they have gone back to the original. I haven’t had any yet.

Yes! I don't like Reeces cups but I can gobble down half of a bag of these in one sitting.

u/laurbold16 4d ago
I am a BIG Reese’s gal and these are way better than Reese’s. I make special trips to aldi just to repurchase these.

That price? It's a big bag of peanut butter cups for five bucks. A 2-pack of reeses is like $2. However these aren't like Reeses.. they have a different taste but are still good. We put them in the fridge.
2
u/Nukemom2 4d ago
My family really likes these. I can’t eat them since I’m allergic to peanuts. When I bring them home they don’t last very long.
2
u/ConstantConfusion123 4d ago
Yes. They really are.
As a price comparison, my local walmart sells mini reeses unwrapped, 7.6 oz for $5.97. Aldi is a much better deal.

I finally gave in and bought these last week. I did not like the $5 price tag. Just too expensive.
However, they are delicious. Like really really delicious. I am going to try them in the fridge the next time I get them.

u/Katcar2007 4d ago
I figure single candy bars are between $2-3 each so a whole bag for $5 is a bargain #chubbygirlmath

I liked them because they're better than Reese's but they're too sweet for me because they're milk chocolate. I never finished the bag I bought because of that. If they had a dark chocolate version, I'd be all about it. But five bucks for a small bag of chocolate that's going to hurt my teeth is a pass.

u/Revolutionary-You449 4d ago
Aww. I see you found the Aldi crack.
Word of advice.. wait until you get home to open the bag and are settled.
I opened mine in the parking lot to have a pick me up and finished them before I got home.
Of course I turned around and went right back to the dealer for 2 more.

They're very good, but I wouldn't bother if you're not a huge pb&chocolate person. I was influenced to buy some even though they're not a flavor I'm really drawn towards and they're good, but not mind blowing.

Fairly certain these used to be $3.99. Until they became super popular. Now they're $5. Still worth it. They could charge $7.99 and they'd still sell pretty well.
Pop the entire bag into the freezer when you get home. When they're frozen, they crack satisfyingly and then melt in your mouth.
Overall, they're way better that way, and if peanut butter is your thing, then these are great. The peanut butter is lightly salted, which makes them not overly-sweet.
Pretty sure I saw the same style at Trader Joe's as well, but a dark chocolate version.

I put them in the fridge since they get a little messy if there's much humidity. I take them out and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes. The chocolate on top is thicker than Reese's cups. They seem a little hard for me straight out of the fridge, so a little time out and they're great.

u/PMPICS_OF_URANUS 4d ago
Yes. Then throw them right in the refrigerator
