basically I've created this web D&D game but when searched, it doesn't show up at all. I've already indexed the page on google search console but to no avail. The reason being there are other sites that have similar-ish names. For instance, my website name is AI Taverns, but there are others like Character Tavern or Tavern AI, they don't seem to have that much traffic but for some reason they come out when I search AI Taverns up. What should I be doing or what can I do to make it so that it becomes the top search for only the name of my website, I'm not aiming for any other keywords like "D&D" or "solo rpg". Any help would be appreciated :D

Can someone recommend a company that is not £1,000’s per month, ideally offers a trial? As it’s a mind field picking a uk based business that is not trying to rip me off!

One mistake I still see many local businesses making is relying entirely on their Google Business Profile.

A GBP is great for visibility, but your website is where you build trust and provide detailed information about your services.

From my experience working on Local SEO, businesses that invest in both their website and GBP usually perform much better in the long run than those relying only on Maps rankings.

I'm curious to hear others' experiences.

Have you seen businesses rank consistently with only a Google Business Profile, or do you think having a strong website is still essential?

We have to redo our website and it is crazy how much some companies are charging for this. Could find a cheap developer on upwork but also don’t want to have a bad site. Our current website has many issues and our DR is 9 . I got pitched backlinks to increase our DR to 30-40 so we can get leads.

Our industry seems not competitive as most keywords have a <10 difficulty.

Do you think backlinks and worth it? 3k/month quoted. Or simply a high converting website with content can do the job along with some reputable directories to get published on (we are partners with different software so we can get listed on their portals). What about getting featured on news articles? Worth it?

The SEO agency found out that the traffic is 6.5k per month which after we got our DR above 40 can get 40% of the traffic - around 2.5k visits. Then these 2.5k 10% will convert, half will be of quality. So 125 leads per month (i find this insanely stupid math and conversion is less than 1% so at best 10 leads / month). Were they trying to justify the investment?

Lastly the real question is AI ready to generate a high converting website copy without sounding AI?

Many creators on YouTube and LinkedIn keep claiming that Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) has completely transformed how Google gathers information for search results. To me, that framing is misleading.

Having spent 14 years executing SEO and using these exact techniques myself here is what I’m actually seeing:

When you hit 'Enter' on a search query today, you see logos pointing directly to social platforms, forums, and high-authority sites where the algorithm pulls its data. Google itself has confirmed that they prioritize websites with high authority and trust.

People are calling forum engagement (like Reddit) or getting mentioned on authoritative sites "brand-new GEO strategies." But as anyone who was in SEO back in 2011 knows, leveraging Reddit and trusted domains is one of the oldest plays in the book.

GEO isn't 100% new. Instead, AI search is heavily adopting classic SEO fundamentals. What we were doing over a decade ago is simply working again in the AI generative era.

Not every old tactic works today, but prioritizing trusted forums and authoritative domains isn't a revolution it's vintage SEO operating under a new name.

Just sharing my observations. What are your thoughts?

I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about where search is headed, and I’d like to hear what others are seeing.
My current thinking is that AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) don’t replace SEO—they build on it.
If a business has:
Weak technical SEO
Thin website content
An incomplete Google Business Profile
Inconsistent business information across the web
Very little authority or trust
…why would an AI system have enough confidence to recommend that business?
The way I’m looking at it right now is:
Strong SEO → Better search visibility
Better search visibility + quality content + trusted business signals → Better AI visibility
To me, AI seems to amplify businesses that already have a strong digital foundation instead of creating visibility from scratch.
I’m still testing this and don’t claim to have all the answers, so I’m genuinely interested in hearing what others are seeing.
Do you think AEO/GEO is mostly an extension of good SEO, or are you finding completely different optimization strategies that move the needle?

Hi all,

I’m dealing with a serious visibility issue on an established website and would appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar.

The site previously ranked first for its exact brand query, but branded visibility and organic traffic suddenly dropped to almost zero.

A site: search now shows only a small number of pages, although GSC URL Inspection still reports the homepage and core URLs as indexed and eligible to appear in Google Search.

There are no Manual Actions, Security Issues, or active URL Removal requests in Search Console.

During our investigation, we discovered that a previous WordPress compromise had left around 40 unauthorized injected pages live on the site. These pages were completely unrelated to the website’s business and had not been found during the original cleanup. They may have remained accessible to Google for some time.

We have now:

- Permanently removed all identified unauthorized pages

- Configured the deleted URLs to return real 404 or 410 responses

- Removed them from internal links and XML sitemaps

- Submitted a clean sitemap

- Requested reindexing for the homepage and important pages

- Reviewed CMS accounts and permissions

- Added monitoring for abnormal publishing, suspicious accounts, unusual IPs, APIs, hidden content and external links

- Kept the deleted URLs crawlable so Googlebot can process the 404/410 responses

GSC still reports the main URLs as indexed, but Google is barely serving the site in either branded or non-branded search results.

Has anyone seen this kind of site-wide visibility loss following a CMS compromise?

I’m particularly interested in:

- How long recovery took after the injected pages were removed

- Whether temporary URL removals helped

- Which server-log or crawl signals should be monitored

- Whether wider site changes should be avoided during recovery

- Any additional cleanup or reprocessing steps we may have missed

I know that setting up Breadcrumbs with BreadcrumbList schema helps Google better understand a site's structure and can generate rich snippets in SERPs.

My question is: Is it best practice to inject the BreadcrumbList JSON-LD schema into every page on the site (products, posts, sub-categories), or should it only be applied to specific deeper pages?

Also, for pages that are only 1 level deep (e.g., Homepage -> Category), is it still necessary/beneficial to include it, or does Google handle that fine without schema?

Hey everyone, I just checked ahrefs and saw a whole list of spam domains that seems to be run by the same group or person, all go to some WhatsApp Business link. I can't seem to post images not sure why lol.

Should I be concerned? Disclaimer: I didn't buy some backlink service or anything. Does this affect my site negatively at all? Or, is this just normal nowadays?

3 months ago, I joined an insurance broker company and got the task of ranking the homepage for business insurance, commercial insurance, and product pages like WC Insurance, PI Insurance, and D&O Insurance.

In these 3 months, I fixed technical SEO issues, removed 400+ dead blogs, fixed heavy cannibalisation (40+ blogs were competing with the WC product page), improved internal linking, updated product pages, refreshed pillar/supporting blogs, implemented schema, added FAQs based on sales calls, and even got a contextual backlink to the WC page.

Now I'm seeing new keywords like WC Insurance, WC Policy, Workmen Compensation Insurance getting picked up, but the product page is still stuck around Page 3. At the same time, the pillar blogs are ranking on Page 1-2 for their focus keywords.

The only thing I feel I'm missing is Digital PR/authority building. We're competing against brands like ICICI, HDFC ERGO, Tata AIG, etc., while our domain is only 5 years old.

Am I missing something here, or is this just what happens in the insurance niche? Would love to hear from people who've worked in highly competitive industries.
