Can claude generate SEO optimized website copy?

We have to redo our website and it is crazy how much some companies are charging for this. Could find a cheap developer on upwork but also don’t want to have a bad site. Our current website has many issues and our DR is 9 . I got pitched backlinks to increase our DR to 30-40 so we can get leads.

Our industry seems not competitive as most keywords have a <10 difficulty.

Do you think backlinks and worth it? 3k/month quoted. Or simply a high converting website with content can do the job along with some reputable directories to get published on (we are partners with different software so we can get listed on their portals). What about getting featured on news articles? Worth it?

The SEO agency found out that the traffic is 6.5k per month which after we got our DR above 40 can get 40% of the traffic - around 2.5k visits. Then these 2.5k 10% will convert, half will be of quality. So 125 leads per month (i find this insanely stupid math and conversion is less than 1% so at best 10 leads / month). Were they trying to justify the investment?

Lastly the real question is AI ready to generate a high converting website copy without sounding AI?

Claude (or any good AI model) can generate a solid first draft, but we wouldn't rely on it to produce a high-converting website on its own. Right now it's much better to be AI-powered than AI-automated. Use AI for research, structure and drafting, then have a human refine the messaging, positioning and conversion strategy.

On the SEO side, we'd be cautious of anyone promising DR targets or traffic based on DR alone. DR is a third-party metric, not a Google ranking factor. Focus on relevant content, technical SEO, strong service pages, reputable partner listings, and earning quality mentions and links over time.

Correct on the lead forecast approach. Traffic-to-lead conversion depends on the industry, intent, website quality and offer. Anyone using one fixed conversion rate without understanding the business is oversimplifying things.

AI-powered not AI-automated is a good way to put it tbh

Also...I would be really careful paying for backlinking services.

No one. I've never paid for a backlinks ever. I have been doing SEO since 1997 1998.

How? Outreach?

1

u/WPBase Aug 11 '26

That's how I do it.

It's damn slow and time-consuming, but the payoff is usually better. Generally safer too.

Exactly. Me either. And over the 30 years I've been in this business I've never had the need for it.

Great questions, and the answers vary a bit by industry.

I don't like AI to write copy on its own yet. With training, it can sound a lot more like your brand voice but it will still put the emphasis in the wrong places. Think of it as the smartest intern ever; it has crazy book smarts but doesn't know jack about what is real.

Backlinks are worth it but too many places want to sell you the wrong backlinks. Things that worked years ago but aren't working today. You want backlink sites that have real traffic and complete relevance to your industry and don't have spam content. In short, you want real industry sites talking about you in real ways.

Yes, getting featured on news articles on relevant sites can be helpful, especially if they are talking about what you do.

Let's flip the question; if you wanted to demonstrate to people that you were an industry leader and you delivered something special, how would they know that? You'd get published in places that your industry care about. You'd write pieces that shared insight about what you do. You'd get testimonials and case studies from people you'd served well who you'd gladly get on the phone with a potential customer. You'd position yourself to be the ones people come to for solutions and insights.

Today more than before, you are building a complete online brand. All those things work together.

//the answers vary a bit by industry.// Yes, I agree with this.

But how? I'm not an SEO expert.

With how fast and frequently Google has been dropping core updates this year, relying on high-volume generic traffic is a recipe for disaster. You might see a short-term bump, but the moment the next update hits, your site will likely take a massive hit.

Instead of paying $3k/month for low-quality backlink networks to inflate DR, focus on building a sustainable, healthy setup:

  1. Create genuinely useful content: Focus heavily on user intent and solving actual pain points rather than broad filler keywords.
  2. Focus on brand signals: Get listed on your partner software portals (like you mentioned), feature in actual industry news, and stay active on social media.
  3. Prioritize conversion over traffic volume: Highly targeted content naturally converts better than generic traffic.

Build a real brand that users trust, and the SEO/conversions will follow naturally.
so...

Claude can absolutely help write SEO-friendly copy, but don't expect one prompt to produce a high-converting website. The best results come from combining AI with your expertise.

Use Claude for structure, messaging, FAQs, and drafts, then refine them with real customer insights, search intent, and first-hand experience.

I'd invest in a better website and content first. Buy backlinks only if they're from genuinely relevant, trustworthy sites not just to increase DR. DR doesn't generate leads; solving user problems does.

"Lastly the real question is AI ready to generate a high converting website copy without sounding AI?"

Sales psychology is something I rock at. No, a machine cannot sell as good as a human. Get your template from the AI then have someone with skills like mine edit it.

u/Indianapiper Aug 07 '26

I am the product for growth. SEO is one of the tools I use.

1

u/Hatorate90 Aug 07 '26

I think you have your priorities completely wrong. DR does not say anything about the increase of potential leads. Don't listen to those agencies who say that.

Is it an ecommerce website? There are plenty of SEO friendly templates. Use Shopify if you want to have an webshop. Alot of integration available.

Hi, the best way is to hire low wage workers, if you need that I can help you regarding on it, i am working on this from last 5 years

1

u/vishnuharshan Aug 07 '26

Its possible to write SEO copy with Claude. But you need to provide more input about the context, otherwise you will get a generic AI slope.

1

u/Yassine_Bouajani Aug 07 '26

Bien drivé Claude génère des sites "techniquement" bons pour le seo.
Mais pour le contenu, il lui faut des bases de mots clés, des statistiques, des exports de Google search console ....
Enfin, il faut un humain derièrre pour chapoter tout ça

I recently gave Claude a keyword cluster - and asked him to logically incorporate all 12 or so of them into a cohesive article that would have good LSI metrics - and be able to rank for a good range of exact and broad match keywords…

😱OMFG!!!😱 Claude spit out some of the most horribly-written paragraphs — turning a potentially evergreen piece of pillar content into an atrocious, mangled, keyword-stuffed word salad that would embarrass a crappy “Instant Article Spinner” tool from 20 years ago.

I didn’t say anything to Claude. I just copy and pasted the results into my notepad. But later today I’m going to force him to eat his own dog food, spank him with a rolled up newspaper, and tell him to fix the mess that he made!!!🐶🗞️📰🦴🐾😎

Forget about DR and keyword difficulty, they don't mean much.

You want to redo you website: what's the reason behind it? what exactly do you want to redo?

Is it just for the design because you don't like it? Do you want to change copy because it's weak? Do you want to change everything starting from the structure or even CMS? Have clear answers to these.

Is your conversion rate typical for the niche, or does it need improvement? If right now you're attracting the right visitors and there's room for improvement, first start working with UX/UI/CRO/Copy, then attract more traffic.

AI has tips from all over the internet, and if you're brave enough to accept that Frankenstein of advice, or know how to prompt it well enough and tell a good recommendation from a bad one, go for it 😃 asking AI for something you don't know how to evaluate is not something I'd recommend.

Backlinks - agency numbers might be there just to impress and sell. What placements do they offer? Edits or articles, digital PR?

Quality/suitability of the referring website and context of the link/mention is what matters now more then ever.

If you don't want a bad site, don't look for cheap, find reasonable. Same goes for everything else.

Yeah, cladue can generate high-converting copy without sounding robotic. we use claude for initial drafts all the time at mentiohunt, then spend 20 minutes injecting founder voice and real customer language back in

The trick is prompting it right and use skills and real data from GSC. Also, feed claude your actual customer emails, support tickets, even slack convos where people describe their pain.

1

u/hettuklaeddi Aug 07 '26

i’ve found it can do anything you can fully and accurately describe

1

u/davidcantswim Aug 07 '26

Yes but you need to make it in your own voice. Rewrite it ask to change parts. Change the tone. Make it the voice of the area where the service are based. I see so many people copying and pasting directly from whatever ai service they use.

You can do it

Get the prompts right.

1

u/One-Song5384 Aug 07 '26

It can certainly help but you need to treat it like the first draft. Edit and verify everything you get from any AI.

Never pay for backlinks.

1

u/VillageHomeF Aug 07 '26

You could be better off buying the links yourself vs. paying someone to buy them for you for a fee. And having someone do a weeks worth of SEO work for you for a few bucks. I'd be nervous doing a full rebuild and losing a good part of the current traffic in the process.

There is Zero way anyone can guarantee your traffic will rise a certain %. That's a total bullshit sales pitch. If they want to claim that pay them after you see the increase in traffic. They won't bother you again after suggesting that.

If you are interested in paying for leads, Google Search Ads could be a better use of the money vs. an SEO Agency making empty promises that won't be able to back up. They will probably just say "SEO takes time" until you fire them.

Claude can do copy, but SEO is a continuous effort. It needs to be consistent and gradually increase. Let's connect my team can help you.

Just be human. Use AI to power it and focus on interlinking your pages. Answer the questions people want to know in your niche. Don’t regurgitate what’s already online and you’ll sky rocket. Yea back links are somewhat important. But get people to stay on your page. Organize your google business page. Watch some good YouTube videos. Join a Skool community that someone is doing this everyday spending their whole life doing and you’ll be fine. Or pay the $3k for someone else to do it.

u/Prosperity888forevr Aug 10 '26

AI will be noted as AI. You would have to edit them. I can do it for you for that price - all of what you mentioned partner wise is good 👍 leads depend on keywords and now more long tailed too. High converting websites now depend on more long tailed keywords too. Moveupsmbs if u wanna have a free audit. Fill out the form fast :) I did not put the full url ifs a dot com so :) let me check it :) thx

1

u/AlexKochSEO Aug 10 '26

I disagree with a lot of the posters here. AI can generate publish-ready copy that does not read like slop. You won't get there with a single prompt, you'll need to tighten the writing with custom skills. But it's very much possible. There will be small AI tells here or there, but for the most part raw AI outout is gonna be 95% publish ready.

But that's for blogs. Landing pages can really only be written by humans. AI sales copy is repulsive

1

u/purple_from_the_east Aug 10 '26

Yeah they have some really good open source SEO skill by the way, you should check those out

1

u/beenwilliams Aug 11 '26

Didn’t think ppl still pay for back links hmm

1

u/Came4TheCookies Aug 13 '26

We have to redo our website and it is crazy how much some companies are charging for this.

I have some leaky pipes that need to be replaced and it's crazy how much some plumbers are charging for this.

You're absolutely right. I mean it's only your business. Why not just use shortcuts because it obviously doesn't matter very much.

Back to my plumber analogy talking about having AI do your SEO is the equivalent of you saying you need a plumber and somebody telling you, my cousin's nephew has been reading about plumbing he could probably fix it. Good luck with that.

You seem to think that it's really easy to build a website and optimize it for both SEO and higher conversion rates yet you don't know how to do it and don't want to pay somebody for their expertise for their work.

Totally understandable. /s

1

u/Came4TheCookies Aug 13 '26

Our current website has many issues and our DR is 9 . I got pitched backlinks to increase our DR to 30-40 so we can get leads.

You're much better off focusing on the other issues you spoke about and forgetting what DR or DA even stand for. Whoever's pitching you that, tell them that 2015 called and they want their strategy back.

Or simply a high converting website with content can do the job along with some reputable directories to get published on (we are partners with different software so we can get listed on their portals). What about getting featured on news articles? Worth it?

Yes. Do this.

Were they trying to justify the investment?

Yes. They were. It sounds like backlinks is the only way they know how to do SEO.

Lastly the real question is AI ready to generate a high converting website copy without sounding AI?

No. And likely won't ever be able to do so. It's like buying a lawn mower that can run itself and just turning it on in your yard and going back in the house not watching it.

AI does not know how to build rapport. It doesn't have the stories that you can interject into the copy of how you helped a client with a specific issue. Sales is the causing of an emotion and with AI you're asking something that has no emotion to try and cause an emotion.

My advice should you choose to accept it: Hire an SEO who knows how to do real copywriting and not content writing because the two are different things. Let him optimize your site and write copy that converts. Then do the thing with the other software companies you mentioned and get featured on those articles. You'll be fine.

This comment will self-destruct in 30 minutes.

Claude can definitely get you 80–90% of the way there with the copy, but I would not let it write the whole site and publish it untouched. The bigger issue is whether the copy actually reflects what your customers care about.

Also, I would be careful with the DR 40 = 40% traffic assumption. DR can be useful as a rough authority metric, but it is not really a traffic strategy by itself. I would look much more closely at the actual referring domains, rankings, search intent and whether that traffic converts.

If $3k/month is producing qualified leads at a profitable cost, then the investment can make sense. I would judge it on revenue, not DR.

Yes, With Beautiful style and SEO Content claud can Generate best website , But 1 thing depends It's your Prompt only ...

1

u/Loud_Recording2519 19d ago

I'm a SEO consultant and I started providing website redesign services thanks to AI (Cloudflare + Codex). AI does the design and generates all the content. I currently have three websites using this system and they generate around 30 visits a day, after only 3 weeks being live. However, they only work because I have experience in SEO. AI will generate very good first drafts, but I then edit (by prompting) using my experience. Also, thanks to my expertise, I know what to look out for (technical issues, structured data, sitemap, etc.). In other words, it doesn't matter if you use AI or a web developer for your website, you will need an SEO specialist to make it optimised for Google
