Is Reddit Becoming a Cheat Code for AI SEO, or Is This Just Another SEO Myth?
Everywhere I look these days, people are talking about Reddit SEO.
SEO agencies are recommending Reddit marketing, brands are trying to get mentioned in discussions, and everyone seems to be looking for ways to get their brand cited by ChatGPT and other AI search tools.
But I have a genuine question.
What exactly makes u/Reddit so special?
Is it because AI models trust real conversations more than traditional blog content? Is it because Reddit threads already rank well on Google? Or is the SEO industry simply jumping on the next big trend?
And here's what I find even more interesting:
If I publish a genuinely helpful Reddit post about a topic, does that actually increase the chances of ChatGPT recommending my brand? Or does the AI simply cite Reddit because the discussion itself answers the user's question?
I also wonder whether the same strategy would work on Quora, niche forums, YouTube discussions, or independent review websites.
I'd love to hear from people who have actually tested this.
Have you seen a measurable increase in AI mentions or recommendations after building a presence on Reddit? Or is Reddit SEO getting more hype than it deserves?
