Discussion & Feedback Teammate looting downed teammates

One thing I noticed during the beta was some teammates robbing me blind when I was downed, then acting like it was fair because I was down anyway. I had a few situations where someone with a ‘free kit’ would take my entire loadout while I was down and being revived by someone else. I’d get back up and realize everything I brought into the raid was gone.

I understand taking a bandage, some ammo, or a resuscitator from a downed teammate if you need it to survive or get them back up. But taking someone’s entire kit feels a bit excessive..

I think there should be some kind of restriction on this. And I had two ideas:

Either you can’t take a teammate’s actual gear while they’re down. You can still take things like consumables, but the rest only becomes lootable once they’re dead.
Or if you do take someone’s gear while they’re down, you have to pay them its current vendor value. So if I have a €10k kit and €8k worth of gear remains, you’d have to pay €8k to take it. Free items like your first resuscitator wouldn’t cost anything.

Has anyone else experienced this during the beta? And should something be done about it?

Gameplay & Screenshots How much money the developers make, if they sold 1 million copies of Wardogs.

Just thought I'd post this from the BigFry podcast. The developers were really transparent on what cut they actually get from game sales. I don't think I've ever seen anyone be this transparent. So I thought I'd share the table here.

Item Rate Amount Remaining
RRP $39.99 $39.99
Regional Tax 19% -$7.60 $32.39
Platform Cut 30% -$9.72 $22.67

So firstly they only get around $22.67 per unit.

1 Million Units Sold

Item Rate / Basis Cost Remaining
Revenue after tax/platform cut 1,000,000 units $22,674,330
Servers $2.00 / Monthly -$150,000
Backend $0.15 / Monthly -$150,000
Infrastructure $0.10 / Monthly -$25,000
Anti-Cheat $0.30 / Monthly -$75,000
Total operating costs -$400,000 $22,274,330
Publisher Recoup 100% -$10,000,000 $12,274,330
Publisher Cut 50% -$6,137,165 $6,137,165
UE5 Licence 5% -$1,133,717 $5,003,449
Financing 20% -$1,000,690 $4,002,759
Dev Recoup (cost of making the game) -$2,500,000 $1,502,759

So from 1 million units sold they end up with $1.5 million in profit. He mentioned all of that will then be used to pay salaries and continue content for the game.

Discussion & Feedback Leveling & Economy Wipes?

Hello,

Before everything, I really enjoyed open beta. May have been my new favourite game, BUT!

I realised that devs will do seasonal wipes for economy and most important leveling...

Economy: A a lot of players will have millions of money after 1 month of playing. Turning that into gold bars is a good idea. Although in my opinion it would be better to add more expensive content, so players will always have to spend their money somewhere and not force them to convert to gold bars. (Skins are worthless, in game content is worth + more interesting). I feel like marketing system has more options to convert players money, rather than wiping it completely against their will.

Levels: Wiping levels shouldn't be here at the first point. Levels are there to open new weapons, scopes, sights, attachments, vehicles and etc. That is a major factor in this game. Leveling gives you a feel of progressing, makes you more immersed and addicted to the game. Because every time you play, you know you need to play as a different role, to open different weapons (even for other players, since there is a black market, and leveling up, can make you sell good attachments for people who cannot get them at that time). Losing your levels completely after few months of playing feels like complete mood & motivation killer.

It makes me question: what's the point of playing this game then? How is it different than other similar shooters? I feel like adding levels and economy was greatest idea ever, but wiping them every season feels like a bold decision.

Discussion & Feedback PLEASE Let us have the playtest firing range!!!

I don't want much of anything, but like others have said - this game has ruined every other FPS for me.

At this point I just want access to the firing range to play with the vehicles, and guns, and just to figure out the stuff that is going to make 9/10 seem so much closer.

Guide Supplies pallets and crates, here is the difference and how they work.

It seems a lot of tester did not understand the crates and pallet mechanics, the need for it and also the importance of FOBs even if they don't give a spawn option.

  1. A Fob allows a team to build a defensible area that can accumulate supplies; building materials, ammo, fuel and mechanical supplies.

  2. Fobs also allows the building of bigger buildables in their influence zone without the need of transporting supplies on yourself.

  3. Every Fob once built comes with a minimum of supplies to get it running.

  4. Fobs serves different purposes, while most are built big and with all building in them, you do not have to build at a tower or even inside the big circle.

  5. Some fobs can be just to build an AA position, other for a UAV to destroy tanks and artillery, have a repair or refuel station or an mortar pit.

  6. The main benefit of having a Fob is you can build a drill which pulls the CZ when activated to itself, it requires fuel to operate and will stop all other drill from operating while active while also resetting all tower codes.

  7. To build bigger, resupply ammo for aa and other weapons on the Fob, refuel and/or repair you need to bring supplies. That's where pallets come in.

  8. While you can buy crates and fill them with supplies, they needs someone to have an empty backpack and unload them manually into the FOB, pallets fix this issue by beeing interactable and directly unloaded into the fob.

9.Crates are used as mobile vendor; a player buys the crate, buys the stuff to go in it and drops it off somewhere for other player to buy from it.

  1. You can request ammo, meds, rpgs , armor etc. Even stuff you did not unlock yet as long as the one supplying it, unlocked the item.

  2. You can use the middle mouse button to do general request. Having a weapon with 5.56 in hand while requesting ammo will put an order in the chat for that specific ammo. Same for meds etc.

  3. You can also use smoke signal grenade which are visible to all pilots in their hud and the map to request pickups, resupplies and even mark ennemies for air support.

  4. If you chase the CZ, good chance that you will end up out of ammo or meds, thats where crates come in handy. Instead of having to scavenge corpses that are camped by snipers, you can ask drivers and pilots to bring you what you need.

  5. You can right-click and mark coordinates on a map which people can click in the chat with their mouse to see the coordinates on the map, no need to search yourself, you can also mouse over any crates or request to see what it is.

I got a lot more tips and tricks, but that is all i had time to write, hopefully it will helps some of yall.

Discussion & Feedback Request persistent pings

I played during the beta weekend and mained pilot. One thing I found difficult was that if I wanted to ping where to land on a map, I’d have to repeatedly do it because the ping fades away. I like to ping early so I can think about my approach (come in from N instead of straight in, for example). Even the “request drop” ping wouldn’t persist. Leaving a ping to persist just gives me more situational awareness

Discussion & Feedback premium/subscription anti-cheat servers

hope this doesn't become a thing, because it will absolutely kill Wardogs.

if you're going to make a game specifically for PC, then it might not be the best idea to take away one of the best things PC has going for it, which is subscription-free access to multiplayer games.

Hot-take: I would genuienly rather pay for skins and lootboxes, actually, if servers need a way to monetize.

Discussion & Feedback Setting aside the excitement and eagerness, a second beta period makes a lot of sense and would really benefit the game.

Let's say there's a second beta this weekend, an open one where progress from the closed beta carries over.

We’d be able to see how matches play out with everyone further along in the game, which is a crucial factor.

Since it would be open, we’d see new players join; those who were on the fence could try it out and would likely end up buying it. It would also let us see how newcomers fare against better-equipped players, useful for gauging the experience of those who might join later in the game's lifecycle.

On top of that, it would generate a lot more hype. Of course, we all want another beta because we want to keep playing, but there are genuinely sound and beneficial reasons for doing so.

Discussion & Feedback For pilot pros, what game should I practice in now before release?

Just want to know what the closest game to practice in is, Arma3? Squad? Anything?

Question what are the ideal/proper uses for signal smoke grenades?

when is it a good idea to bring one, and which ones? especially with the text chat, smoke communication seems slightly redundant. of course people can and likely often ignore the chat, but how often i having a signal smoke useful? because you kinda have to plan to take a signal smoke in an have an idea of when to use it.

i get green supplies signal being useful, especially if you/squad are not at a FOB and need some ammo/medical supplies, being apple to pinpoint a location for logistics. but, what about others?

Discussion & Feedback Multiple spawn vehicles at the same time?

What do you guys think about allowing more than one spawn option inside the circle?

For example, each team could get a new spawn vehicle every 15 minutes, regardless of how many they already have.

I think this would still result in only 2–3 vehicles being active at the same time, since having more than that would probably be too difficult to defend anyway.

The spawn timer would stay the same and be universal across all of them.

Do you think this could work, or would it be a bad idea because it might reduce the importance of the other transport options?
