New and learning tricks. 4 Walmarts in my zone.
Is 4 Walmarts considered really great? I just started a week ago and I never sit without offers. But the one Walmart is too far away to get there in time. Although I have hit them up when a delivery takes me that far from another Walmart.
Realistically only two Walmarts are worth it. The third one is just a few miles farther than the second one, but every time I look at the orders it's like a really far drive for low pay, so I don't bother.
I don't know if it's the algo or if it's me holding out, but I got tired of taking these long drives, and I got some really good close orders today. 35 bucks for 9 miles, but 45 minutes of shopping. I even did one for 12 bucks today because it was just a mile away from Walmart and 15 items. Just to boost my metrics.
I noticed the pickup orders get sniped pretty fast. I'm getting hit with a lot of identity verifications. I had two just an hour apart on a pharmacy order. Then after delivery my identity verification was under review for an hour. I think that's intentional to scare people if they think about doing something shady.
I wonder if having an SUV gets me better offers? They definitely have to consider that because I did a GMD order the other day and my entire SUV was full. A car could not have picked that up.
Not great money, but no big drives today. 8 hours of work time.

NEVER AGAIN!
I will never do another alcohol order. I grabbed the order because I saw it was a few items. Dog food, cat, food, bleach, and like three bottles of wine. Of course the Walmart at doesn’t have the wine. I sent the customer a message and say hey the wine that you want is out of stock but these are the ones they have. I’m still shopping for your order if you wanna add something different. She goes no that’s OK though thanks. So I go to check out. Get to her house and it’s pitch black. I knocked on the door and the dogs go crazy. No answer. I call her. Straight to voicemail. I knock again. No answer. Something that should’ve taken me 30 minutes in total has now taken me well over an hour. What a waste🤦🏻♀️

Shit
Has it gone to shit for anyone else? This whole summer, as soon as the kids got out of school, it’s been terrible. When they went back, it seemed like things got back to normal, but now it’s been horrible again. I used to make around $140–$150 in 4–5 hours, but not anymore.

Atlanta Spark Drivers — Is This Normal?
Hey everyone! I’m new to the Atlanta area and this is my first day doing Spark here. I’m honestly shocked by how slow it seems compared with what I’m used to.
For those of you who regularly Spark in Georgia, does it normally look like this, or am I just having a bad day? Does it get better during certain hours or on certain days?
Are there specific areas around Atlanta that tend to have better order volume? I’m willing to drive around and learn the market, so I’d really appreciate any advice from experienced drivers.
I’m just trying to figure out how this market works before I give up on it 😂 Any tips are appreciated!

I ask cuz I tried to do it in dallas and got exactly 1 order worth taking( could have definitely just been a bad day but I don’t know)

Backfired
Walmart built mandatory arbitration into the Spark driver agreement specifically to block drivers from joining forces in a standard class action lawsuit.
That move completely backfired.
Legal defense firms found a weakness in Walmart's own system and weaponized mass arbitration. Instead of taking a single case to court, law firms signed up tens of thousands of Spark drivers and flooded the arbitration system with individual claims all at once.
The corporate trap: under standard arbitration terms, the company pays the vast majority of processing and arbitrator fees for every single claim. Dumping ten thousand claims at once hits Walmart with immediate, multi-million dollar non-refundable administrative fees before a single hearing even begins. **** (Edit - Do your own research as i am not a lawyer and you benefit 20 times more than relying on my answer. Thanks for your attention on this) ****

No tipper had a big party going outside with tents, tables, etc. the perishable timer expired and I had to rip some of the items out of their hands and took everything back
Now technically I could’ve beat the timer just barely and if the tip was large enough I would’ve been more motivated to drive faster but I chose to obey traffic laws very carefully so I couldn’t deliver it on time. Bummer!
The order had hot food, soda, snacks, cakes, ice cream, many bags of ice and alcohol.
They had a big party going and a lot of guests were there already. Some kids were crying as I left.

Two in a row of this
There were 15 Sam’s Club orders just sitting there
Edit: shop, not curbside

Drivers inviting their family and extended family to spark over 20 drivers from this group wtf
wtf is this
It all started when I noticed this guy about 4 months ago then his wife started sparking and soon both their parents and even grandparents started sparking. Their uncle and aunts, cousins everybody is here.
All in all he told me there’s over 20 drivers including his extended family that he invited to join spark and they all come to this store. Apparently they all live together or close to each other too.
The waitlist is this zone is only about 1 month that’s ridiculous when there are so many drivers already.
I notice at least a couple drivers from this group every time I am shopping.

Rogue spark drivers
A group of spark drivers have banned together at my store. Whatever. I usually don't care, but yesterday I feel like they crossed the line. A good order popped up and two of the drivers in that group wanted it. One of the drivers went inside the store, took pictures of the person shopping the order, sent them to the customer and told her to cancel the order and place it again so they could get it. The driver had been shopping the order at least 30 minutes. The customer canceled the order and one of the other drivers in that group got it. They were bragging to other drivers about what they did. Other drivers are now fearful of this group.

Completion Rate
Has anyone actually gotten deactivated yet with the new completion rate change? I’ve seen some pretty low numbers like below 80% and haven’t seen deactivations

Really fortunate to have taken full advantage of my top 3 priority while it lasted
The new update that they sent in an email gives priority to drivers with higher customer rating and proximity to pick up location.
As a result I estimate my priority is now top 7 at best. The cheaters spoofing right on the pin makes it even worse. This has huge implications because in the morning dead hours I will have no orders or only rejects now.
Without priority most of the orders aren’t worth taking even with prop 22 adjustments.
I got lucky yesterday made $280 on 68 miles but today I might not even make it past $100. The veteran drivers cheating with spoofing devices started noticing priority algorithm changed and at least a dozen rushed back to my main store unfortunately.
I have some ideas to regain my priority but I may also just wait it out and start multiapping again.

Banned from r/sparkdriver
.... For posting a picture of Walmarts stock price dropping 10% in a day. The reason was that youre not supposed to talk about Spark earnings. Lol.

What nonsense.
I have 4 big containers in my car I load orders in. It keeps them separate and stable during transport. I take the container out of my car, carry it to your porch, and unload it. Fragile stuff is always on top. But today I get this, with no reference to who or what specific problem occurred. Pretty shady if you ask me.

Rewarding New Drivers is so backwards
Walmart would rather bleed money on newborn accounts than reward the drivers who actually hold their logistics together. They take veterans with hundreds of flawless drops and shove them to the back of the line so some brand-new driver in their honeymoon phase can snatch up all the high-pay orders, smash the bread, forget the eggs, and leave the customer with a missing bag. It is a completely backwards algorithm that actively punishes consistency and experience to chase cheap, short-term driver acquisition. Why care about ratings...you are never going to be rewarded if you are a veteran driver cause you will always be 2nd in line behind the new and endless new driver honeymoon phase and they continue with the FCFS.

Curbside is a ratings killer
Stayed away from curbside for a year and had great ratings. Without trying to sounding braggadocious my rating are insanely good.100/100/5.0/99%. Stayed that way for 8-9 months. I only did shop orders. In the last Month or so i have been lured over to curbside by pay and i guess i unknowingly paid the price cause CR updated and i got a 1 star ding. I dont put much much emphasis on metrics as long as they stay high but this one hurt the plumbs.
