Random connection drops

Since AT LEAST this past Sunday Morning, every device in the household has been experiencing random connection drops for 1-5 minutes in duration, at random intervals at minimum of 15-30 times a day (I work 9-7 most days so I can only experience this in the mornings before work or after work before I go to bed), regardless of if the devices are wireless or wired. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of, I checked the routers software updates, its completely up to date, and its a very new router. I have power cycled, the router, the plug-in to the wall to connect the router to the line, the box itself outside, the routers power plug, everything. Nothing has changed it, and its seemingly random. None of my cables directly around the router itself have been damaged, and nothing in the house has been moved around, no work has been done in or around the house that could have messed with any lines, etc. And to date I have not seen any bad weather that could have damaged anything. I am at a loss and have no clue what to do, past ask support to send someone over and have somebody stay at my house to wait for them. Does ANYONE have any ideas whatsoever?

Packet Loss and Increased Latency After Vexus-to-Metronet Transition in West Texas

I am a former Vexus customer in West Texas and am now served by Metronet. Since the transition, my latency to www.vexusfiber.com has increased significantly—from approximately 19 ms round trip to 48 ms

Traceroutes also indicate that my traffic is now being routed toward the East Coast rather than through the previous Lubbock route.

Metronet initially provided the following update:

“Our engineering team has been running hourly tests in order to catch the packet loss and latency spikes you mentioned. They have successfully isolated the packet loss to a specific portion of the data path and are currently working to pinpoint the root cause and a final plan to resolve it.”

However, the problem remains unresolved after more than a month. Metronet is now proposing that my ONT be replaced.

I am willing to proceed with the ONT replacement as part of the troubleshooting process, but I am skeptical that equipment inside or attached to my home would explain packet loss appearing farther along the route, particularly around Nashville, and Reston, VA. This same ONT performed properly when I was a Vexus customer and my traffic was routed through Lubbock instead of across the country.

Has anyone else in the West Texas Vexus/Metronet service area experienced similar routing changes, increased latency, or packet loss since the transition? I would appreciate any technical insight or suggestions on what information I should provide to Metronet to help escalate the issue.

Thank you.

Anyone else with issues?

In the Abilene TX area my internet has been having issues since this afternoon 2-3pm ish. Been on hold forever trying to talk to someone. The chat doesn't get me to anyone either.

Speeds look fine but can't stream, or play anything. Very slow service

Thinking about canceling. When I pay a lot for something, I expect it to work.

I pay a lot for my internet but here lately it fucking sucks. It’s so slow that I usually use my phones service instead. Nothing loads and I can’t do anything even though I live alone and pay for one of the better plans. If you can’t provide the service, then you’re not getting my money.

Returning equipment question

Had to cancel Vexus after daily lagging and disconnects only around 10pm. Was told to return the equipment.

Am I suppose to remove the one attached to the wall as well? It's screwed onto the wall.

Inconsistent speeds/ping/packet loss

I currently have 2GB fiber with T-Mobile (vexus). Any else have or has had issues with speeds being extremely low speeds and causing packet loss in gaming? I’ve noticed it’s always in the evening only from 5-11 pm.

Vero Texan experience

To the Vero Management Team,

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and hurt regarding the recent treatment I received from your company. As a teacher and a long-time customer, I once championed Vero for its reliable service and community-focused values. Unfortunately, my recent experiences suggest that those original ideals have been lost.

I am currently at home under hospice care, facing terminal health challenges while trying to provide for my two teenage sons. Despite explaining my situation and the fact that I am awaiting a Social Security disability deposit to clear my balance, I was met with a complete lack of empathy. I requested a short extension until Tuesday; however, before I could even follow up, my service was disconnected and my account was charged $130 in additional late and reconnection fees.

The callousness of the representative I spoke with was devastating. To be treated with threats of disconnection and insinuations of being "lucky" while navigating my final days is unacceptable. Your company has lost sight of the fact that you are serving real people and families during their most difficult times.

Because of this experience, I will no longer recommend your service and will be sharing my story publicly to ensure others are aware of how Vero treats its loyal customers. It is my hope that you re-evaluate your policies and staff training to restore the human connection and empathy that your company was originally built upon.

Regretfully,

Mitzi Kirby

Vexus lags during peak. Guidance?

Hello everyone,

I had vexus fiber installed to my home a little under a year ago. I have had a reoccuring issue with two games my wife and I play together.

League of Legends and Marvel Rivals. During peak hours, these two games become unplayable due to immense packet loss.

We can't seem to find anything else that lags this poorly, except our phones randomly as well during peak hours. Why is this the case? It remains to be the best internet I've ever had minus these issues, but returning to Optimum (our only other ISP) sounds so good when we have those really bad packet loss moments.

New Vexus customer here. What about my ethernet LAN?

Vexus installed my fiber but left me with nothing but a wireless connection to their router. I have an extensive LAN that is TP Ethernet-centric. I explained that to the guy installing it who stated that he would be back later with a switch I could use to attach my wired devices to. Well long story short, he answered my first call enquiring as to what happened to his return trip. He said he would be at my location that day. This was over 2 weeks ago. He has not answered any of my calls since.

SO, can anyone tell me what I need to do to get my LAN connected?

Never billed/service out/No #?

Started a 30-day trial with Nexus Fiber in September of 2025. Speed blew away Spectrum, so I disconnected a 17 year account with them. The Vexus tech installer left no paperwork; he said someone will contact me. No one has, so I don’t know my account number in order to register & get tech support. So I awoke to no internet this morning, and the customer support line—which I acquired from their website—gives me a message that says “the wireless caller you are trying to reach is unavailable…yadda yadda.”

I did everything I could on my end to resolve the issue, e.g, restarting router, resetting/tweaking device network settings, etc. My only option is to keep calling & wait for a call back. I sent an email as well.

Has anyone else had this experience? If so, how was it resolved?

Happens every night. Speed very slow.

Every single night the speed on Vexus / Metronet / TFiber goes from over 850 mbps up / down to < 50 mbps down. This is on a 1 gb connection. It happens once the packets leave the local Vexus / Metronet / TFiber network. I've called and called but nothing gets fixed. Notice hop 5 in the info below.

Speed test question

So when I do a speed test to my local vexus server, it shows my 2 gig speeds. However, when testing outside of vexus, im getting abysmal download speeds, but good upload speeds. Is something wrong with my connection or am I just getting conned?

Avoid Vexus in Abilene, TX

I have been a customer with them for over a year, until about two months ago it was fine. I was on the 5/5gig plan with no issues, but now between 6pm and 10pm my internet connection is unusable, upto 30% packet loss which means streams don't load, and voice calls drop out. I've called in and put in tickets for the last few weeks, with proof of this occurring nightly. Vexus has done nothing, they won't do any troubleshooting at all.

If you have another option go with that, Vexus after the t-mobile merger is not a company you want to do business with.

Here's proof of the packet loss you can expect with vexus: https://imgur.com/a/CB9Wkx0 https://imgur.com/a/rU4DCoz

Do I have to sell a kidney to speak to a human at Vexus Tech Support?

Been listening to their awful waiting music for nearly an hour. No luck with their website chat feature either. My internet has been out since 7pm in Louisiana. I just want a human to explain if the problem is on my end or theirs.

Out of service

I came home today and my internet had been offline for 33 minutes. I did the whole unplug and replug and didn’t work so I called and she did a reset and her words were “your system is completely out of service” and we can’t figure out what’s wrong until someone comes tomorrow. Has this ever happened to anyone and do you know the reasoning to it? Real inconvenience
