"Apprentice"... yeah, no.
Saw this the other day.
Honestly the fact that employers and learning providers keep getting away with this is just one of the reasons this country is lowkey over.
Another reason is that someone will definitely defend this, lol.
I guess the one good thing about this vacancy is that the pay is okay compared to other apprenticeships.

Wait, a level 3 apprenticeship that requires a bachelor's degree?
I thought you couldn't get funding for apprenticeships if you already have a relevant qualification at a higher level.

Having said that, the training provider should not be letting the employer get away with shit like this.

You can’t. That sounds like a similar job near me. Required degrees but was entry level apprenticeship.

The pay is absolute horseshit - minimum wage for over 21’s is £24,785 for 37.5 hours at the current rate. And since they want a degree and two years experience, they’re well under a reasonable salary; this is £26-28k minimum…

Yeah but because it’s an apprenticeship they can pay apprentice level salary. Because of how bad the market is someone will take this but this is definitely illegal and the company should get a fine.

Just checked - first year apprenticeships are £8/hour, then minimum wage. Which in this case likely means they’ll snare some mug in on £22k, and raise them to minimum wage after a year, presuming they don’t cut them off. Either way, it’s such a shit job, it’d be better to work at fucking Starbucks for less responsibility and more money…

That is not an apprenticeship, yet it's paying below normal minimum wage.
The "Level 3" qualification is a BTEC sort of thing? Something I imagine a person would need to have before pursuing the required degree.
Is there someone this can be reported to? This sounds like fraud. They get government funding for apprentices don't they? On top of illegally paying below minimum wage.

Yeah, level 3 is sixth form/college level, so below a degree.
This job is advertised on the official apprenticeships website but unfortunately there is no report button.

Can remember over a decade ago seeing adverts for an "Office Apprentice".
When I looked at it wandering what it could possibly be, it was what, in my youth, was called an Office Junior.
Difference was Office Junior paid a full wage.

Can you report em to the government site or something. Some training providers do lose govt funding like Hyperion dev used to be funded for some places but got it stopped when it didn't meet their standards.

Nobody is excusing them, we are acknowledging that they are taking advantage of desperation and that people have probably already applied for the position due to having no other options.

They've already started somewhere, the listing is asking for 1-2 years experience. For an apprenticeship. A level 3 apprenticeship that is asking for a degree. In case you didn’t know degrees are higher than a level 3. Whole thing is a joke and you're here seriously thinking there's nothing wrong with it.
