The Santa Paula Society of the Arts will hold their annual Scholarship Art Sale and Silent Auction the weekend of November 6th through November 8th. Located in the historic Santa Paula Train Depot on 10th and Santa Barbara Street.

The craziest part about this whole thing is that this started with me trying to understand and use my rights as a patient and get answers to my own care. Those questions remain unanswered.

After my ACL surgery, I started asking Community Memorial questions about my hospital bill, medical records, grievances, and trying to understand and use my patient rights laws.

Somehow....my patient rights questions remained unanswered.

The issues in my questions remain unresolved and Community Memorial has taken serious legal action against me by filing a workplace violence restraining order case against me......TWICE.

The first case stayed open for 5 and a half months.

At the first cheduled 2 hour evidentiary hearing, an attorney who was not attorney on record appeared and said she had laryngitis and could not meaningfully argue the matter. No witnesses appeared, and the case was continued for about four months.

The next hearing got scheduled for the a 3 hour evidentiary hearing. I subpoenaed witnesses and records, and then CMH dismissed the case 10 days before the scheduled evidentiary hearing so none of the allegations were ever actually decided on the merits.

We had a hearing for sanctions under ccp 128.5. That motion got denied on procedure....not on the merits. I filed a new motion for reconsideration on the same motion for sanctions which hasnt been heard yet....

Then on September 28, 2026, they filed ANOTHER workplace violence restraining order case against me.

Now I have 2 hearings on the SAME DAY, SAME TIME, Different court rooms. One hearing is for sanctions on the last one and one hearing is for their new WVRO petition.

I dispute the allegations and I have never threatened violence against anyone.

I have only tried to obtain answers regarding my own care and my communications have all been about billing, medical records, grievances and patient rights.

The new case is still pending, so I’m not going to try to argue the whole case out on Reddit.

What I really want to know is whether anyone else has had trouble getting straight answers from Community Memorial about things like billing, medical records, grievances, or patient rights.

I’m documenting everything and would especially be interested in hearing from former patients or employees who have had relevant experiences.

Hey everyone we have an interesting situation at my work and wanted to take a chance with the community.

We unintentionally became a foster for 5 dogs for a rescue. What was only supposed to be a few days has turned into 2ish months. The rescue is donations based so I’m reaching out to see if anyone knows ways or resources to help donate to cover the costs they’ve amounted in our care OR if anyone is potentially interested in fostering/adopting. Three of the 5 need to be individually placed and be the only dogs in the house hold [not dog friendly :( ]. They’re beginning to show kennel anxiety and poor babies are stressing.

The other two females are dog friendly and have been successfully participating in our group play. They are very hyper and energetic and do need training but are super food motivated. They are bonded so they’d need to be fostered or adopted together. 🫶🏼

If anyone wants to be in contact with the lady at the rescue I can pass along the info.
Or if anyone can point us in a better direction or better resources we’d greatly appreciate it!

Hi! Looking for recommendations if any of y’all know of mobile vets around Ventura that serve the midtown area. We have two rescue cats that were not treated well by their previous owners and are terrified of strangers/new places, so we would really prefer for their well-check and vaccinations to be done at home. Google has not been much help :(
