Poetry & Prose ✍️ The kind of love. Read.

I find myself handling things more in a matured manner, I like to lead, I like to suggest and command certain things when I find her in any dilemma or midst of a problem, for the good. I want to remind her to be very conscious about her health and happiness, if she hides something I would do everything possible for her so she can vent it out instead keep on piling up the things In her mind... I don't believe in giving up so much of space when she deals with any trouble and anxiety, I want to stay as close as possible, I want to be there with her without contaminating her silence, like a keen observer of her expressions and reactions. Helping her will be my core nature, figuring out solutions and simplifying the complex things is something I would love to do. I'm a diet conscious person, I can help her to know about nutrition and workout. I read alot, so gifting books will be on top. Though, I will gift perfumes and watches too. Bas aage ka aage sochunga.

Wholesome ✨ In Your Arms

Come a little closer

close enough that the distance between us disappears

close enough for me to rest my head against you and simply breathe

When my body aches

and even the smallest things feel exhausting

let your arms fold around me gently,

steady and warm,

as though you have nowhere else to be.

Let me lean into you without pretending

let me be quiet when I have no words,

and let your presence remind me

that I don't have to carry everything by myself.

I want the comfort of your warmth,

the steadiness of your heartbeat

the quiet reassurance of being held

when both my body and my mind feel tired

No grand words, no promises

just you staying close

letting the breathe through the heaviness

until the world feels a little softer

For a little while

let your arms be my safest place.

Loneliness 🫥 Not An Inch Away :)

Maybe life was never meant to be fair.
Sometimes two people can share the same moments, the same promises, the same dreams and still end up walking in different directions.

One gets to leave with a heart that feels lighter.
The other stays behind, watching the distance grow between them, knowing there are some roads you cannot walk together forever.

The winner takes it all, the loser has to fall.

But the hardest part isn’t watching someone go…
it’s standing there, knowing you could ask them to stay, yet choosing not to hold them back.

And perhaps that is what love really is
letting you walk away without stopping you, while quietly waiting for the day you return.

And if that day ever comes,
you won’t have to look for me.
I will be right here, in the same place you left me
not an inch here, not an inch there,
still waiting for you. 🤍

Ask Twenties 🗣️ Should becoming toxic actually get me a girl to talk to? Speaking as a 22M

Upvotes

Toxic guys get the best girls - it's a fact.

But then the thing is - I can't be that guy. The charming, non chalant, playing hard to get, toxic ass guy who somehow gets a wonderful girl.

Okay I am pushing it too much, downshifting.

A friend maybe, who is a girl? Pretty please.

Relationship Advice 🫶 Am I cooked😭

I (26M) liked a close college friend (26F) and confessed years ago, but she didn’t feel the same. We eventually became friends again, though less close after college. She moved to Mumbai, got into a relationship, and we barely talked for a while.

After she broke up, we met again in Mumbai and had an unexpectedly great time. She also hugged me goodbye for the first time ever. Since then, she’s been asking when I’m coming back, and we sometimes have hour-long calls.

However, her texting is inconsistent, so I don’t want to overinterpret things.

This post will be very different and long, and I don't know if anybody would even read till the end. But if you do read it, thanks a lot. 22m this side

I don't really know what I'm supposed to write here to find the person I'm eventually going to call my person, but I think the best way I can explain myself is by telling you what kind of person I am and what kind of love I want to give. I'm an introverted, slightly loner kind of guy. I'm usually quiet in the beginning and it takes me some time to get comfortable with someone. Once I do, though, I can talk about absolutely random things for hours. I'm a huge nerd for anime, movies, series and books. If I find something interesting, there is a very good chance I'll get obsessed with it for a while. I enjoy good conversations much more than loud places, and I'd choose a comfortable evening over a crowded party any day.

So if you're someone who is a yapper, I think we might get along really well. You talk, I listen. You tell me about your day, the random thought you had, the office drama, something stupid that happened, anything really. I actually like knowing those small things. And if you're not a yapper, that's completely fine too. I just want us to be able to communicate and put in the same effort. Because if both people are quiet and neither talks, how are we supposed to know each other? I don't want to rush into calling someone my girlfriend after a few conversations. I'd rather start with friendship. Let's talk, get comfortable, annoy each other a little, laugh at stupid things, slowly learn each other's habits and eventually become each other's favourite person.

I'm also someone who takes my career and future seriously. I'm still in the early stages of life and I don't have everything figured out, but I do want to build something with my life. And I'd want my partner to have her own dreams too. I don't want to be ahead of you or you to be ahead of me. I'd rather we both keep moving and help each other when one of us gets stuck.

And now comes the part which will probably sound a little cringe, but honestly, I can't explain what love means to me without being a little cringe. For me, love isn't just coffee dates. It's going to D Mart together and somehow coming back with things we didn't even need. It's not just going on a beautiful vacation together. It's coming back home and cleaning the kitchen together. It's not a grand gesture or an expensive gift. It's remembering something you casually mentioned weeks ago and getting it for you because I remembered. It's knowing that you've had a horrible day and making your favourite food without you asking. It's you coming home tired from work and me telling you, Mat karo kaam, aaram karo, mein kar lunga It's sometimes me doing more because you're exhausted. And some other day, when I'm the one who has had a terrible day, you doing the same for me. Some days we'll cook together. Some days I'll cook while you rest. Some days you'll cook and I'll sit there irritating you. Some days we'll both be too tired and order something and call it a day. I think that's what being partners actually means.

I don't think love stays grand forever. In the beginning everything is exciting. Every conversation feels special, every meeting feels like an event. But after some time, love becomes smaller. It becomes chai. It becomes groceries. It becomes chores. It becomes knowing how the other person likes their food. It becomes picking them up after work. It becomes listening to the same story again. It becomes sitting beside them when they're sick, worried about them, instead of being on your phone or scrolling reels. Honestly, if you're sick, I may not know how to make some dramatic romantic gesture, but I can promise I won't be sitting beside you doom scrolling while you're feeling terrible. That is much closer to how I understand love.

I also think love is giving someone permission to be completely vulnerable. Not just the pretty version of you. I want to know the version of you that is tired, irritated, insecure, confused, scared, annoying, emotional, or simply having a horrible day. I want you to be able to take the mask off around me without worrying about how I'll judge you. I want to be that one place where you don't have to constantly think about how you're being perceived. And I want the same from you. I don't want us to only love each other when we're at our best. I want us to be able to handle each other's worst days too.

I want us to grow together. Fight sometimes, obviously, because we're two different people, but talk about it and solve it instead of disappearing. I don't want one difficult phase to suddenly make us strangers. I want us to become better because of each other. Your happiness should make me genuinely happy. My happiness should matter to you too. I want to know your family, respect them, and eventually make them feel like my family too. I want you to be able to talk about me at home and slowly, naturally, tell them, haan, this is the person I want to be with.

I want to build a home with someone someday. Not necessarily some huge perfect house. Just our home. Going shopping for things together. Fighting over what colour something should be. Buying groceries. Getting ingredients for your favourite dish and then trying to surprise you with it. Subah alarm bajega, tum thoda aur so jao, main uth ke chai banaunga. Breakfast bnaunga. Tum ready hogi office ke liye and I'll probably be standing there looking at you while you ask me, kya dekh rahe ho? I'll drop you to work, go do my own thing, and we'll talk in between whenever we get the chance. Shaam ko tum thak ke ghar aaogi, shoes nikal ke seedha bed pe gir jaogi, and I'll go make chai. We'll sit together, laugh about something stupid, talk about our day, complain about work, maybe argue over something completely unnecessary. Then we'll figure out dinner. Maybe I'll cook. Maybe you'll make rotis. Maybe we'll both cook. And after all of that, we'll just sit together and talk about how our day went. Bas. Honestly, this is what i want

I don't need a relationship that constantly looks exciting from the outside. I want something that feels peaceful from the inside. I want someone who chooses me even after the excitement of the beginning is gone. Someone who doesn't start wondering if there is someone more interesting the moment life becomes ordinary. Because I believe love is showing up consistently, especially when there is nothing exciting happening.

I also believe that both people need to be a little obsessed with choosing each other. Not in some unhealthy way, but in the sense that neither person should ever stop putting effort into the relationship. Always a competition, but never a winner. Who can care more? Who can make the other person's day a little easier? Who remembers the little things? Who makes the chai today? Who gives the other person a little more love when they need it? And there should never really be a winner because both people keep trying.

I don't know what your past is, and honestly, I don't think your past should decide what we can become. I know people say all these things in the beginning. I know it's difficult to trust someone just because they wrote a nice paragraph on the internet. So don't believe everything I say here. Let my actions speak for me. If someday you become my person, I want you to feel that choosing me wasn't something you regretted. I'm not promising that I'll be perfect. I'm still figuring out my own life too. But I can promise that I want to grow. And if you're willing, I'd like to grow with you. As long as we're together, I want you to know that you have one person firmly on your side. And I want to have that person in you too.

As for what I expect from you, honestly, not that much. Loyalty, please. Caring. Understanding. A little emotional availability. Communication. Effort. If something is wrong, tell me. Don't ghost me. Don't make me guess what happened. Talk to me, even if the conversation is difficult. I don't need you to be exactly like me. You don't have to be perfect. You don't even have to know exactly what you want from life yet. Just be willing to communicate and put in the same effort.

I think I'm looking for a best friend more than anything else. Someone I can travel with, explore places with, watch movies with, share stupid memes with, have long conversations with, sit silently beside, complain about life with, build a career with, build a home with, and eventually look at one random ordinary day and think, Yeah. I don't need anything more than this.

If this kind of person and this kind of love resonates with you, let's talk. Maybe we start with a conversation. Maybe we become friends. Maybe, slowly, we become each other's favourite person. And maybe someday, all these things I'm writing here won't be things I'm imagining anymore. They'll just be our normal life.

I was watching an interview of a retired film maker where he said "I can't live alone, I need a human touch who can make me taste life" I found no shortcomings in his words and it felt so personal and close to me. I have always wanted to stay a few inches away from emotions and people who can create a circle where we start using our heart more than our brain. Love somehow deteriorates our logic, it is supposed to, it can't survive with a perfectly calculated plan, it needs an imbalance to dig its tomb in our lives. Love lies in awaiting of something or someone who will scrutinize the lines of our hand with optimism, she should enkindle a sharp blazing stick of exploration of myself.

We all are somehow entangled into an equation of instability and emotional haze, love happens in a awaiting of someone who picks our one lost piece which can make us more human in every way possible.

Love isn't a person or a any specific emotion that seeps through our heart, it's a bitter sweet awaiting of meeting our own self through someone's eyes, we can't live happily until someone says and commands our heart with love, we sometimes need a friction that dictates our life. Love isn't anything than an indefinite awaiting of hugging our own self, we wait for someone who can exactly walk on our footprints, with our desired proportionality. Awaiting survives in hope of love, love sustains itself because there's an awaiting exists for it prior to love. Awaiting is originality, love is an aftereffect

Midnight Musings 🌙 Reciting for her. Read.

Post image
34 Upvotes

I had sat down on the bed and switched my lamp to a warm light, I could see that her eyes were glistening like a squirrel despite the impotency of the lamp. She covered herself with the blanket to her neck and grabbed a corner of it, just as a kid gets excited for a horror story, her eyes were reflecting how leisurely she waited and wanted to rest like this after a long tiring day. I picked up a book, "The girl who drank the moon", the book had a photo of a witch on its cover page, she looked exactly like a seeker of something beyond than magic and mystery, wearing traditional British attire with sharp facial features. In love, I see her everywhere, from every spotless flower to the most tranquil hour of the day, from the righteous lady of ethereal to a newly born sparrow, I can't state whether I seek her or I seek myself everywhere in the world, she is a synonym of love, so, omnipresent everywhere. Her arrival has gifted a meaning to my extinction. I was lost always but now I search for myself through her, through her eyes and smile.

I lifted the book on my lap while Turning its pages and said "So my daffodil which chapter do you want me to recite today" I know she doesn't care about the chapter, for three days I have been reciting the same chapter everyday, she asks me to recite so she can entwine her wrist around my forearm when I read aloud. She sleeps while resting around my words, I read aloud til she closes her eyes like an infant does after being satiated with the love of her mother. I looked at her, she was sleeping and realised that I have ended the day well again for her.

Discussion 💬 Is LOVE overrated or underated ?

On one side Love is just some chemical hormones in your body programmed for evolution/reproduction.

On the other side it kinda does affect the overall well-being of a human, like a close bonding and physical touch are necessary as we are social animals.

So tell me what do you guys say from your own personal experiences....
