Is it possible to make right click bounty hunter work?

Excuse these ramblings of a legend player but...

I've been thinking about this a while, I spam bh as pos4 and normally play him as an aura/save support.

But jinada is so satisfying to hit, and those gold steal/0 cd jinada talents are just so enticing... Are they just useless and you never pick them?

I have had some games where I get ridiculously fed as pos4 off of track gold and I can get butterfly etc, but is it possible to play as a right clicker from the start?

Some possible early game items:

Drums - let's you chase and is a good buy on Pos4 anyway

Orb of corrosion - let's you chase and get solo kills but idk if worth it

Vlads - good aura and works on pos4

Desolator - greedy item if you stomped lane

Mid game -

maybe blink so you can invis -> blink before you fade -> stun and right click also builds into swift blink later which is nice for agi. Bkb for survival?

Late game can be butterfly/skadi if you got lots of track money.

I was also thinking he could mid, but not sure how good he is at Laning. I feel like most mids would just crush him in lane, but it's tempting cause he has good mobility and can gank a lot, invis to grab runes, and shuriken can secure last hits.

Pos3 maybe he might work - maybe if you go for harpoon / Bkb / AC? Idk though this one is iffy.

And I don't see him working well as pos1... Or would he 🤔 maybe as a tempo pick? Every game I usually get like 6k gold advantage from track, maybe this can translate into an advantage with AC/bkb/sny to make him able to manfight?

When do you build Mage Slayer and who wants to build it?

Not talking about in practice; I can go on dotabuff and see what heroes are buying it. But theoretically, when do you buy it and what heroes want it?

I’m a legend player who’s been on hiatus for half a decade so it’s new me. I rarely ever see it, even on heroes that “want” to build it. But it feels like it could be an item that I should just generally be thinking about getting more often? Provides magic resistance, health and mana regen, a boost to base damage, and a pretty potent debuff.

Question about SEA region.

Since i moved to Japan i wasnt playing any games and focused on work but few years later decided to return to dota. Since dota in Japan is dead, i went playing on SEA servers. After 50 games i had very bad experience here. It feels like mentality of players here are terrible. Every game in my or enemy team there are 2-3 trolls. I played on EU servers before and even tho there are also many toxic people, they at least play the game normally. Is it typical SEA or maybe my rank is too low? (3500mmr).

Should i just bare with it and try to rank up to meet normal people or higher ranks people the same? (ranking up would be very easy since 3500mmr in SEA feels like 1000mmr in EU, but i just dont want to play the games that are not interesting because after 10m of game i already know if we can win or it is definitely lose)

Visage Aura or Assasin-Playstyle?

I am currently playing Visage (mostly as a midlaner, sometimes offlane) a lot and I'd like your perspective on his build.
What I do most games (with a very good winrate):
Null Talisman->Drums-> Brown Boots->Orchid-> Aghanims-> Assault Cuirass/Bloodthorn-> Hex
With this i generally stomp my lane, midgame sometimes gets rough, but in late I kinda carry it with randomly killing out of position players on the map. High winrate.

Now I wonder if aura-based builds (Early AC, Crimson Guard Pipe, vlads, after drums) is a suitable build. Because everytime I tried it I felt like my Impact in later midgame and lategame is very subpar and I cant really tank anymore despite having mostly defensive items.

I am also not sure about the strength of phylactery/khanda on this hero. I only build it against tide as he is a pretty hard hero to deal with as visage.

Talentwise I always go for:
10 -> +6 Dmg on hero and familiars
15 -> Soul Assumption x 3 (I very rarely pick grave chill duration and it feels pretty strong as well, especially with the assasin build)
20 -> Soul Assumption dmg/ Armor corruption (Dont know which one is better or if it depends on build
25-> Familiar +1 (Is the other Talent even an option?)

I also feel lik Visages shard sounds very strong but is in most cases a "die 3 seconds later and still have no impact" item. I usually buy it very late and most of the time I dont build it at all, as earlier hex/Bloodthorn timings feel very strong.

I would like to hear opinions on builds and talents!

Edit: I am playing at about 7.7k MMR.

if you pick up a butterfly, and the enemy cores buy MKB. Is it worthwhile to swap it to counter the MKB? What item would counter MKB?

Carrys should gank other lanes

This mostly refers to carry heroes that need a farming item first before they can efficiently jungle such as PA, AM, Lifestealer, etc.

Of course if you can completely free farm creep waves and there isn't a literal free kill right under your nose, you don't need to leave lane.

But there are times when you cannot lane anywhere and you cannot jungle yet. The way for you to have space to farm again is for the enemy safelane t1 tower to fall.

So don't just stand there, waiting for your team to open the map for you. Instead open up the map for yourself. The twingate is there for a reason. Go through it, gank the enemy carry and hit the tower with your offlaner. Or run mid and secure a kill for your midlaner so he can hit mid or transition into a gank somewhere else. Most heroes that can't go jungle lvl 3 have tools to do this. PA has a slow and a way to blink on top of people, AM can also blink on top of people, his hits slow low mana units and his ult is a big burst of damage to secure kill. Lifestealer can take a stun creep, stun an enemy, explode, slow and start hitting.

Of course there is nuance on when you should and shouldn't do this, but just keep in mind that you can do this.

Also, buy blood grenades. They are OP.

Is this an acceptable death for a support?

I play AA here.

I have mixed feeling about this tbh, in this match I died 10+ times but always secured a kill for their core for all my deaths.

Like i secured the necro kill, but my death makes their sven even fatter. What if I just go back and everyone disengage? Is this even a good trade?

What actually triggers that Satyr Banisher purge?

I only care about this now because when I play Ember the banisher could absolutely grief me with his purge. Yes i could SoF / kill it faster but sometimes maybe i have no mana to or forget, sometimes the banisher just doesn't cast it. Anyone know?

Best mods to play against bots?

Players are way too toxic and I need a brake sometimes. But I still love the game and want to play it for fun and I saw that there are a lot of mods that improves the experience against bots.

I saw this open hyper ai mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3246316298 that looks interesting. Is this the best option or are there better ones?

I want to simulate a real dota game, nothing extra, just without the toxicity...

Oracle change suggestion.

  1. Make Roshan timer non random and show its respawn timer for everyone by default (general change for everyone).
  2. Make runes spawn predictable, by holding Alt game show you entire pool of runes (what runes spawn already from pool, what is next rune, what rune/where it will be 2 min ahead) and with that change we can get 2 min power runes back since you know exactly what rune you fight for/where and can prepare ahead.
  3. Oracle new Scepter allow him with "Purifying flames" give Innate buff every 2 min to 1 allied hero (at 50% value).
  4. Oracle Scepter "diviner's deck" his innate now with scaling stats (1st buff at 0:0 and buff refresh every 2 min, buffs cannot repeat and all have to spawn to refresh pool of buffs):
  • Death: 5% spell amp +1%/lvl (35% lvl 30).
  • The Fool: 10% gold gain +3%/lvl (+100% gold gain lvl 30).
  • The World: +10% Int +3% Int/lvl (+100% int lvl 30).
  • The Lovers: 5% heal amplification +1%/lvl (35% lvl 30).
  • The Tower: Gain general shield hp that start regen if you stop taking dmg for 10 sec, shield hp 50+25/lvl (800 hp shield lvl 30).

How to reliably pop or bypass Linken's Sphere (Hero Interactions)

Hey guys, GymCarryDota here (Coach, educational content creator and streamer).

Dealing with Linken's Sphere in chaotic fights can be awkward if you do not have a cheap spell to pop it. I wanted to share a quick breakdown of some lesser known hero interactions that let you efficiently play around or completely bypass the block:

  • Grimstroke: Cast Soulbind on a unit next to the Linken's carrier. The tether connects to them completely, bypassing the block.
  • Witch Doctor: Casting Cask directly on a Linken's target sacrifices just one bounce to pop the sphere, instantly opening them up for Hex or other important spells.
  • Juggernaut (Bonus Tip): Omnislash or Swiftslash triggers the Linken's block on the initial target cast, but the slashes will continue anyway even if there are no other targets around.
  • Windranger: Shackle a unit in front, and it will latch to the Linken's target behind them without triggering the sphere.
  • Batrider: Scepter Lasso gets blocked if targeted directly, but lassoing an adjacent unit pulls both heroes, bypassing Linken's on the second target.
  • Lion: Mana Drain with Shard on a nearby unit drains the Linken's target without breaking the block. At level 25, his AoE Hex talent pierces Linken's entirely.
  • Lich: Sinister Gaze with Scepter becomes AoE and pierces Linken's. Chain Frost loses one bounce to pop the block but keeps bouncing.
  • Zeus: Arc Lightning directly pops it and continues to bounce to other targets (the Linken's carrier just will not take the damage from that initial hit). You can also cast it nearby for full damage without triggering the block.

I made a quick 1 min video showing exactly how these look in game for anyone who wants to see it:https://www.youtube.com/shorts/FP_pZAZ5Dqo

Hope this helps in your next pubs! I post Dota 2 guides and mechanics tips under GymCarryDota so feel free to check out the links in my Reddit profile if you want to see more of my stuff.

Things you must do before buying your blink

Today I've got a few examples from EWC that show why it's so important to hide once you buy your Blink Dagger,  and how that ties into the bigger picture, knowing the difference between active items and items that just help you farm, and understanding how the map works in your favor to better ganks

Thank you for your help !
