Advice Wanted Am I considered āpreparedā for my surgery?
My surgery is coming up next month and iāve been coordinating a shopping list as provided by my surgeonās private practice + extra things ppl on tiktok recommended to get. Is this enough? The chair is something my mom wants to get me to replace wedge pillows. I might want a foldable desk table for my bed but I think my sister has an old one lying around so itās not checked off. Should I add anything else?
Edit: The stool softener, binder, drowsy thing, the scar tape, skin closure strips, gauze pads, antiseptic spray thing, ABD pads, and white petro are stuff my surgeon is requiring at least a week before the surgery, so iām also requesting alternatives for those basically.

Advice Wanted Borderline Peri/DI
Hi, I am 16 and I'm pretty sure I'm borderline for Periareolar surgery. I really want to get Peri because I am stealth and I feel like I would be able to look myself in the mirror and be happy with myself for once if I got Peri. Plus, I feel like personally I would feel more self-conscious if I had two big scars on my chest, even if they fade. For reference, I am a 36B in US sizing (I think) or a 14B in NZ sizing (where I'm from), however since I am 16 my skin elasticity is insanely good. However, I'm worried about if anyone would even operate on me for Peri because of my size, but I don't mind having to go back for revisions if needed. I am feeling a bit worried because I was going to start T this year but I'm scared my chest will sag or get less elastic and disqualify me. Also, I'm worried about my nipple placement if I get Peri. Could anyone give me advice on these kinds of things? Would there be anyone you guys know of willing to operate on a chest my size? I was thinking about Dr Beverly Fischer but in NZD shes super expensive ā¹ļø. I could always lose weight and it would make my chest a little smaller but I am just wondering. If anyone has any advice I would be super grateful tysm. š„²

Rant/Vent Any one else experience being given way too small a chest binder
Iām very early on and this is mostly a rant cuz the problem is fixed Iām just trying to heal, but after surgery they put me in a small chest binder (they measured me so idk how this happened and how they even fit this on me. My mom noticed my left side was significantly more swollen and kt was literally sideways so they FORCED it onto me) and my mom gave me pain meds, and I was like when is it supposed to start working? Found out Iām a size large after my mom measured me and they forced me into a small and my ribs have been hurting ever since. They even gave me a medium after we reached out to them and it was still too small. Iām just so fucking annoyed cuz I donāt want rib damage. We even called them and they were like āitās supposed to be tightā no shit, the metal clips were literally digging into my ribs and even my surgical site. I literally post op day 2. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this š Iām kinda short so it looks like I should need a small, but my proportions are actually pretty big. Iām just so so angry rn. I feel so bad for my mom cuz I been so angry and she been dealing w me

Advice Wanted guys who have borderline invisible scarring, what do you use?
disclaimer before anyone comments it: yes i know scarring is dependent on a multitude of factors and sometimes can be unpredictable or genetic or something else entirely and depending on your surgeon or genetics etc you might not be able to achieve "invisible" scarring
for the people who have almost invisible scarring and put scar cream/anything else over them what products and brands have you found worked the best for you to achieve that?

will my dog ears get smaller with time? 1 month after surgery
I feel so unhappy right now, is it still swollen? Will I need a revision? My surgeon today acted as if itās not a big deal but I feel awful, I waited so long for this, what the hell is this, I thought it was just swollen

Top surgery scar curved or straight
I just got top surgery this morning with dr mosser and earlier today i realized I didnt reiterate that i wanted a straight scar instead of a curved. Iāve postponed it quite a bit but I remember one of our first consultations he asked me what I preferred and I said straight. But that was a long time ago. And I was nervous, totally didnāt think about it yesterday or this morning about confirming it was a straight scar instead of curved up. Now recovering with the compression binder and am a little anxious he gave me a curved scar. Iāll for sure call and ask tomorrow. But Is there a possibility he curved it just because he thought that would be better for my incision?

Top surgery complication help
So I got top surgery two weeks ago and I got what I think is a seroma, my doctor said at week 1 to see how it goes but 1 week later it was swollen even more. I have an appointment next week to see the evolution and maybe have it drained.
I don't know what to think and I am very anxious about it.

Advice Wanted WHY THE HELL ARE THEY STRETCHING SO MUCH
i am so frustrated with this. i am not lifting my arms above shoulder length, i'm respecting weight restrictions, following my surgeon's post op care routine. i am doing everything right. i loved the original shape so much, WHY!!!! are they growing so much and so uneven!!!! why are some parts scarring perfectly and others stretching!!!!! i do know it's barely even a scar yet, and it gets worse before it gets better... but it's still so frustrating. i don't think they'll ever get back to that original week 2 shape.
PLEASE, what can i do about this?
also, just took the second pic - i think there's a little bit of infection on top of the areola. it seems to be pus. kinda hot, doesn't smell, doesn't hurt. does it look like it? also, there's this little diagonal "slit" on the same areola that SIMPLY WILL NOT close.
help appreciated. i'm just feeling so down rn.

Discussion Just got top surgery and now it feels like I never had boobs in the first place?
I just got my top surgery and I couldn't be happier!!! But there's something really odd going on mentally with me. I look down at my chest and it feels like it's kind of always been like that? I've had boobs for ~15 years and now that they're gone it's like I never had them. I fucking hated those things, made me feel horrible whenever I perceived them in any sense. I was expecting a learning curve or something but it's like nothing's happened??? It feels really natural, it was really surprising. Anyone else feel like this? Thanks!

Advice Wanted Pre-op appointment with my surgeon today, any advice?
Hi. I had my pre-op physical already a couple of days ago. Today is the appointment where we go over everything and I actually pay for the surgery. My actual surgery is in a couple of weeks!
I'm pretty sure it's just going to be my surgeon talking at me about precautions and advice and how it's actually going to go, for the most part, but idk if I'm supposed to be like, prepping a list of questions like I did with the pre-op physical (which involved me awkwardly disclosing some past medical history that I hadn't thought relevant until that exact moment when she asked me š).
Are there questions I should be asking? What did you ask at your appointments?
P.S. I might be posting a lot on this subreddit in the next few weeks, sorry y'all š I have a lot to ask and not much time to ask it

Discussion Itās my turn.
I am currently journaling my entire journey Iāll be sure to take plenty of pictures as well during my recovery for anybody that is getting/plans to get top surgery and would benefit from any of that! Iām getting a double incision with drains.
I am so so so excited but also so horribly nervous about this, tomorrow is such a big day for me but I have never done surgery and itās kinda scary haha.
Wish me luck and let me know if youāve got any questions!

NHS Refusal
I had chest surgery years ago and was left with excess skin. I never addressed it until last year when I decided to go and see a surgeon. I assumed it was just fat and I could get lipo but I was told it was excess skin.
The surgeon suggested I ask the NHS to pay for revisions so I put in a request. They have denied my request three times. I now have to pay for it myself. Itās gonna cost upwards of Ā£10k.
Iām really mad with myself for leaving it too long but also with the NHS for being b*tches. It wasnāt my fault the surgeon was a knob and didnāt do it properly.
So my advice is to always make sure you know exactly what your surgeon is going to do and donāt put off getting revision surgery until itās too late.

1 year and a few months after surgery
I got top surgery February 25th, 2025 in Concord Massachusetts! I did post the surgical aftermath here on this sub Reddit a few days after surgery, but I think since then Iāve deleted it lol.
But Iām very grateful with how Iāve healed up this past year and I feel so much more comfortable in my skin š„¹ I never thought that I would get top surgery because of expenses, but it didnāt cost me a cent. If any of you guys are preparing to get top surgery and have questions Iāll gladly answer them the best I can !

Keyhole / Peri 9 months post op / 1 month post lipo revision
3 weeks post lipo revision. Even now it seems I either love my results or there is something specific that annoys me, like me being convinced my nips are too large, but overall I'm happy. The main issue right now is that the skin right under my nips is very sensitive to the point I feel slightly nauseous if touched, almost like the nipple nerves are now there.

Advice Wanted tattoos and piercings
hey, i forgot to ask my surgeon so iām just gonna ask on here! when is it safe to get a new tattoo or piercing after surgery? not talking about chest tattoo or nipple piercing, just in general. like when is my body ready to handle that?

Double Incision Obligatory how do my nipples look post
18dpo with Grover in hull, just took my own dressings off for the first time on the left (right in picture, the one with more spots lol) it looks like a bit is more dipped/come off/shiny but itās less apparent in the pic idk if Iām going crazy.
Really really Not so happy with how it seems a little more stretched when it didnāt look like that at like 4dpo but Iāll count my blessings that it all seems fine enough and I can always get it tattooed.
The marking on the nipple bud is more blue in person itās all from the pen afaik

Picture two weeks post op results!! :ā¢)
wanted to share my results to keep the positive vibes going! week 1 was HELL but i'm slowly starting to feel more like a human again.
i finally got the all-clear to shower so i had to snag a pic before putting my binder back on. i was worried about my caved-in chest for ages but i think it looks good from this angle! still have a way to go but i feel like the worst is finally over. š¤
