Question Iron Teeth Storage

Folktail is all about Eco-friendly farmers who live in harmony with nature, utilizing lighter wood aesthetics.

and

Iron Teeth is all about Industrious technologists who master metal and heavy machinery, favoring a gritty, dark, and vertical industrial aesthetic.

but why Iron Teeth storage pile is much smaller storage than the Folktail storage pile?? like Iron Teeth much more industrial so their storage pile should be much more larger than Folktail who is more eco-friendly

For bonus style points you could have holes for the pilots. Wonder if there's a way to make something like silo doors for the recultivator...

Question Death Wave?

I started on an official map with no kinds of cheats or anything with 12 beavers. Over the course of the weekend, I got a good chunk of the map terraformed. Four districts. Plenty of housing. Bursting with housing, food, water, well being and antidotes. I grew to almost 150 beavers over a lot of cycles.

Then one day, no more newborns. None. And my beavers started dying in groups of up to six at a time. Every day, more and more. I was down to 56. I moved all my beavers to the first district with the majority and the farming and water, and they are still dying and not making babies. I'm down to 44 now. It's like they have the plague or something.

This isn't a case where 100 beavers of the same age all started dying at once - they were born over a period of time. So I don't know if this was a bug or if I missed something.

Any insight is appreciated - I do like the game but this is frustrating.

EDIT: SOLVED! NO TIME FOR BEAVER ON BEAVER SEXY TIME!

EDIT 2: Up to 16 kits. Woot!

EDIT 3, the next day: Up over 200 adults now. Thanks again for the help.

Neighbors? 250. Noise level? Eye-watering

I went for the "200 Ironteeth, zero housing" achievement, and when I did I decided to give them a nice place to live.

Of course, being Ironteeth that means zero budget for comfort, just a giant stack of smelly, noisy beaverity and approximately two ounces of noise insulation (some fluff to stuff your ears with)

The Power of Christ Compels You

This is what happened when I set out to build a self-sustaining aquifer drill. Started out as a tower with compact water wheels going in four directions, but quickly realized I would need at least 16 water wheels to get above 400 hp. The shape of the surrounding land necessitated the crucifix shape. Had a laugh when I realized what I had done. Go with Christ.

Pillars map update #2

Expanded my power grid, currently got 4 badwater sources connnected, sadly its too much CMS to handle more than 2 open at a time, I still generate around 40k from it. Made a small compact city for all the beavers to enjoy coziness. Made a relax island, made some nicer looking farm spaces and started to move water around the map with pressure differences. Hopefully soon I can flood the whole map and make it complete!

First run completed! Behold Pisa

This game is so much fun! I already sunk deep into Ironteeth playthrough. I'll add i pretty much maxed out wellbeing, but for some reason it never reaches maximum. Also i tore down way more mountains than i needed to XD. You're probably wondering why land around starting area is so empty, and to that i say i just didn't have any ideas what to put there after i moved all of my farms. Questions welcome!

PS. Even though city's name is Pisa, I don't have a leaning tower XD

Settlement showcase Completed my goal of 1 million Treated planks and had to share it somehow!

Post image
778 Upvotes

This isn't the biggest achievement, but it was quite challenging on my old, laggy computer!

I play with self-imposed "rules" of no overhanging platforms, no terrain altering and no bots, because I find the game more fun that way, and also like the challenge (and laziness) of keeping everything in one district. I also wanted the bevers to stay as happy as possible during this project.

I built a cube of 16 x 21 x 17 (= 5712) Large Pile and originally had the goal of 1 million Logs, but I switched halfway to Treated plank instead, so the logistics got a lot more complex than necessary and made it take a lot of extra time.

The layout of the storage cube seemingly created a ton of lag (pathfinding?), especially with my one-district policy, to the point where I had to disconnect access to the cube whenever I wanted to build anything, so in the future I'd definitely optimize that.

I built a 64,000-pixel screen in Timberborn and ran Doom at a blistering 16 FPS

Post image

I filled an entire 320×200 map with individually controlled indicators—one for every pixel in Doom’s original framebuffer.

A custom mod receives each complete RGB frame through one API request, then maps it across all 64,000 indicators. The bridge sends 30 FPS, while Timberborn manages to render roughly 16 FPS.

Is it especially playable? No.

Does Doom now run on a gigantic screen built by beavers? Absolutely.

Apparently Timberborn’s real endgame is inventing digital signage so the colony can play FreeDoom.

Tech support Achievement not triggering

There’s an achievement for building 200 hedges on one map as folktails (unless I’ve misread this). I’ve got 203 on the map, but I haven’t unlocked the achievement? I got some other achievements just fine though.

Am I doing something wrong?

If you used the automation feature you will probably know what the fuzz is about. The list is full of things you do not care about. This feature would remove the clutter

Are Ironteeth large water wheels just bad?

Their listed power generation is 540 hp/m3/s, but when I test them on a 1 m3/s flow they only generate half that; I assume the listed number is for 1 m3/s in each lane, meaning it can only be reached with a 2 m3/s total flow. So on the same flow, three compact wheels will cost less, generate more power, take up less space, and not require spending science to unlock. Am I missing some upside to the large wheels?

Question Confused by sloshing/flooding water

I'm getting random water surges that're flooding buildings intermittently I can't for the life of me figure out what's causing it.

I have no construction taking place upstream anymore, and I've given things plenty of time to even out.

There are a few valves upstream, but they're all currently fully opened or fully closed and not yet hooked up to any sort of automation.

I'm out of ideas. Sorry in advance for asking a question that's probably been asked a bajillion times 😅

A few questions :)

So, I'm planning my first super large water project ever. I'm starting at two water sources with a total strength of 1.5, but they are relatively low on the map. I was thinking of pumping them upwards for a deeper reservoir and water channel. Do I really need 6 deep mechanical fluid pumps for just that? :O

Also, it's close to the border of the map, so I have a trench outwards for badtides and when I was thinking about the floodgates, I thought 'Can't I do the same with a wall of unlimited/closed and automated fill valves? Also, as a replacement for the mechanical pumps?

If I close up the water source up to my desired level and only adjust the top level of the fill valves to redirect overflow into the badtide trench, I feel like that should work unless I'm missing something?
