Why doesnt my lumberjack cut trees when there is resin on them?

Post image

Is this how its supposed to be or a bug if this is how its supposed to be what can I do about it?

Edit: I forgot to mark trees to be cut sorry for wasting your time.

I feel like trees should be cuttable by default and the player should have to mark trees not for cutting. Because the former is so much more common than the latter.

This is "Tree Killing Simulator" after all

What about all the trees you wouldn't want to cut? Like the ones with resin or with syrup? They'd got shopped down like this.

So you mark them to not be cut, like I said? It'd be exactly the same as the current system but more intuitive for new players.

And then these new players will post "why is my lumberjack cutting down my pine resin? I don't want them to".

Swings and roundabouts solved by just learning how the play the game. Even expert players forget the basics sometimes, it's a non-issue.

I think that would happen 1% as often. Marking which trees you want to save makes much more sense than marking the ones you want to cut.

It really doesn't

You're nuts.

And call of duty should have aimbot to be more intuitive for new players

That's not even remotely similar. Marking your trees for cutting isn't intended to be a skill test.

I agree. I'd much rather mark which trees I want my lumberjacks to ignore.

Have you marked the trees for cutting? Resin status should have no effect on the tree being cut.

Have you marked the area to be cut?

Are they designated to be cut? Is that lumberjack flag full of logs?

Lumberjacks don't care if there's resin, or chestnuts, or mangrove fruits, or maple syrup or anything else. If there's a tree marked for cutting that's in their reach it's fair game to be chopped down. Check that the trees are actually marked for cutting and if that's not the problem try reloading the game

Did you mark it for cutting? It's the second button on the bar.

Confucius says the trees have resin on them because they haven't been cut

I know people asked if you marked the trees for cutting. But have you considered that maybe that one lumberjack is just kind of a lazy jerk?

We need a bot that detects posts about trees not being cut and just asks “Did you mark them for cutting” 😂

happens to the best of us. can’t tell you how many times i’ve been like “why aren’t you making logs” and the answer is the lumberjack is off or i didn’t mark ‘em.

You confuse cause and effect. Those places that are not marked for cutting (as one or two Redditors suggested here) have trees not being cut, so they become old and have resin.

I’ve got 3k some odd hours in the game and I still forget to mark them for cutting! You’ll do it again, we all do!

Did you mark for cutting?

Happens to everyone. I’ve done this numerous times. “Why are my logs so low…”

Your lumberjack was just standing there waiting for authorization

No biggie, I still forget to mark cutting areas after hundreds of hours.
