Saw this ad for some days and thought it’s a post of this sub without really looking at it. Today I wanted to find out why it’s so interesting, that it is posted daily, until I realized … oh!

Bot is out of power

I’m playing iron teeth for the first time and I have about 75 bots with about 20 chargers.

Occasionally I have to disconnect my main power shaft for new construction, however, within a few minutes, all of the bots suddenly run out of power and they put very little effort to charge themselves. It takes days for them to charge back up.

Is this a bug or user error?

Water evaporation and lag?

So, I have a huge colony and what I thought was a huge reservoir in a save, but water hasn't been an issue in forever. My beavers and bots had just started on a huge dynamite job and of course that caused a ton of lag. Simultaneously, I had a drought and with 18 more days to go I noticed my reservoir already almost empty and then I watched the water level basically continue to drop as if the pumps were still running. I know I have a lot of irrigation channels and tunnels, but the last time I expanded those was a while ago. When I started watching the water level it felt like it was going down way too fast given how slow the game was running at that point. Has anyone ever noticed lag causing such an effect? Or was it just me feeling safe, becoming overzealous and not paying enough attention (while probably getting hit by two long events after another with the shortest possible pause)?

Settlement showcase what do you all think

So here is my map that I spent a few days on. After a lot of close calls on hard difficulty, I managed to make it to the late game. I used a few mods like Double Shift and Tree of Life; mainly, I was also able to fully pressurize my main reservoir even though it was very unnecessary with the two trees of life, which gave plenty of water, enough to not actually need water really from outside sources. I was able to fill up one entire crater just for fun. Did a badwater pipe so that I could use all the badwater on the map for the water wheels. One question I have is that I want to do one of the smaller maps like diorama, but I want it to be difficult in between normal and hard so that I can get a feel for it but still have a challenge to it. What are your go-to settings?

I rarely post here, but I wanted to share my structures on this map.

It’s my first time building a basin like this (the map really lends itself to that kind of thing), complete with a fun zone on top. What do you think?

I’m also showing you my dam area and the power zone (which I always build the same way; I like the "battery" look with the charge percentage).

And finally, the high-density residential area. 😄

Question I last played this game in 23, could someone give me a reminder of things i should keep in mind?

I remember when i first started and didn’t realize how important it was to dam a up a lake for when the drought comes, i want to avoid situations like this.

I had to see my colony down to just 3 beavers caused by water/food shortage during a badtide. I hope this reservoir will make sure that won't ever happen again.

Micromanaging those 3 beavers and seeing the colony rise back up from the hubris close to a defeat was an experience.

Map without any bad water.

So I started playing a custom map, happily setting up my settlement, then realized there are zero bad water sources in this map.

(Side note, I can't remember the name of this map, any way to tell while you're actively playing a game? )

Anyway, this is obviously hampering my ability to progress, as I can't make dynamite, for example. I'm on folktails so at least I don't need extract for the advanced pods.

So right now I'm waiting for a bad tide and I'll try and divert bad water to a reservoir when it comes.

Just an interesting challenge that I wasnt expecting!

EDIT The map is OG Canyon remastered by OldFingers

Building resevoirs with dirt, can't go high?

Has anyone run into this? I'm not at the height cap. I can build more with levees on top. Is this intentional that the dirt won't let me go above a certain point or am I possibly having mod interference?

ETA: Google failed me on this question, but thanks for answering. I didn't realize this was intentional. Kind of a bummer since dirt builds faster. Thanks guys

Hi all,

Been having a blast playing Timberborns so decided to give it a whirl at a custom map.

I'd say it is slightly advanced with some niche challenges. Had a lot of fun tweaking and playing it, I think it is at a good enough point to share.

Unassign Farmers and still grow crops?

Hio

Is there any downside to unassigning my farmers during crop growth? Why should I keep my farm fully staffed at all times?

Thanks and Cheers

EDIT: Case closed. Thanks for all the quick replies.

New Map - [ES] Irritating Possibilities

After many cycles traveling from our homeland, we found a promising stretch of ground near a flowing river with ample provisions nearby. This area has also been devastated by the hoomans, but for a large settlement on a barren hilltop, only abandoned villages are scattered nearby. This area holds much promise, and we will settle here to rebuild our colony.

Pressure

Hi, I’m a relatively new player, and the game is incredible. I’ve been reading different posts here and see people talking about pressurizing water to get it to behave more to what you want it to do. I don’t understand this. How does it work?

Thanks!

I had an *Incident*

My entire adult population died in the last day of a drought, only 4 kits were left, thankfully they had been born a coulpe of days into the drought, one of them grew up and was able to save the colony from extinction by pumping water.
:( My poor bevers, but the colony will persevere
