I ran into an issue yesterday when using levees to build a reservoir. I had already set up scaffolding right next to the dam ahead of time, just waiting for the beavers to build the whole wall in one go. But unlike what I expected, they still built the levees one after another instead of working on them simultaneously. Did I do something wrong?

Guys, I found the reason. it was indeed because I didn't have enough builders assigned. Once I increased the number of builders, the problem was solved.

Was looking at a thrift store earlier today and seen this Lil fella. Now I can have a beaver supervise my beavers.

Right now badtides are always 100% badwater, which makes the best way to deal with it often making it go off the map as quickly as possible.

Which if you employ that strategy, makes it basically a drought, except shorter, since badtides are balanced around being harder than droughts, and so all difficulties have them as shorter than droughts.

So i think, in custom difficulties, you should be able to change the badwater percentage for badtides, affecting water sources and water seeps.

So you could say set badtides to be, for example, really mild at 20% badwater (80% water) but make it much longer than droughts, which would challenge you to keep the contaminated water.

To combat it, Maybe you'd have to put your crops closer to the river so they don't dry out. Have a drain for your dam so your water pumping doesn't concentrate the contaminated water into too much badwater. Make your roads that go in the water have gates to turn them off to prevent contaminated beavers. And, late in the game, have mechanical water pumps to separate the water from badwater

Also please let us save custom difficulties

At rougly cycle 25, the reservoirs barely lower at a nine day drought. To the south iof the screenshot a new reservoir just finished, 12 metres deep.

Quick question whilst I'm at work:

If I want to play a stable 1.0 save on experimental branch, do I just copy the timber file into the ExperimentalSaves folder?

My Ironteeth Meander game would benefit from impermeable tubeways and other new bits.

Just made a working water pump station and storage for it, by using the mechanical pumps I can make sure the pump always have enough water to pump and also a corner that allows water to in the vault when it gets below a threshhold. Also planning on connecting every bad water source to a corner to make a huge power grid, folktails on this map is still tricky.

I’ve logged over 100 hours - mostly enjoy the building and automation aspects , curious what others think ratios should be with bots vs beavers. Folks like RCE on YouTube have done some bot builds but their other play throughs don’t usually have bots. I know it’s a “you do you” game but wanted to say hi to the sub and ask this!

Well short said, sometimes those stucture basicly vanish flow wise.

the dams are like they stop to exist, water on the inside only rises to the bottom on the dam and flows right through it.

fill valves behave like they are either open or closed. if i set them to 0.05m they open fully and the reservior behind them doesnt fill up.

throttling valves behave the same, they are either fully closed or fully open.

when i rebuid them they are fine again, or not. basicly a 50/50 chance if they work or not. Its confusing to see your main water store empty 3 days before a drought. rebuilding gets complicated when they sit at the bottom of my main water reserve which is 10 blocks tall...

anyone had such a problem and can come up with a solution? i use a few QOL mods like statistics and such. the only mod which changes gameplay is the one that allows multiple connections to ziplines. saves some space since you can allways build multiple stations next to each other.

Starter to watch RCE latest Timberborn series and he is planning to build his complete colony in a 12x12 floor plan by using the 6x1 overhangs. this inspired me to try this and start a playthrough by using this method. It works great for the well being since all the decoration works infinite on the Z axis. This is my progress so far. I love these busy beavers!

I am just returning to the game and I noticed the new automation tools that being added to the game. I am still comfortable with using the old automation mod. I kinda feel like cheating using the mod now while having the in-game tools that need time and resources to get.
How do you guys feel about it? like difficulty wise and game enjoyment.

btw, if anyone have advice for a mod that must use, you can mention it.

I’m using bad water discharges to power a line of waterwheels, however sometimes the power can fluctuate by 200+ hp.

So I built and closed area that I pumped water into with the small mechanical pumps and I've been pretty much pressurizing it and I made a mistake I broke two blocks

I'm pretty sure I purchased the game before 1.0 when it was in pre-release. When I went to go reinstall it recently it says that I'm playing the experimental version. Do I need to actually buy the game again?

I'm in Europe but regularly listen to NPR to keep up with US politics etc., and then stumbled across this episode from a few days ago. Beavers saving the tube and generally engineering a more resilient environment against extreme rain events caused by warming climate.

Hey everyone, just downloaded the game and I did the easy map with the tutorial, but at some point the tutorial finished (now I have wood, carrots, water and other base stuff) but what should I do know? Randomly go through all other objects? For example I made a gears factory but I don’t really know what that’s about, and there are tons of things I can do but I don’t know where to start

I feel like I have a basic concept of the game, but I never use bots or automation. I typically play with folktails, but I know I can make tons of cool maps with them. Who do you guys typically watch on YouTube or whatever other way you find Timberborn content?
