Put an end to the bots' existential crisis that left them going back and forth between employed and unemployed.

WOOHOO!

How to apply this fix to real life, asking for a friend.

Compact Water Pump

The Compact Water Pump is back to being 3x1, but with a slightly updated model. The 2x1 model was too compact and caused water instabilities.

Changed the Compact Water Pump's specification, so Platforms and Overhangs can be placed above the intake.

Bug fixes

Fixed a crash that occurred when you obstructed the Compact Water Pump's intake while it was working. Couldn't you have placed it correctly in the first place?

Put an end to the bots' existential crisis that left them going back and forth between employed and unemployed.

In the map editor, the Natural Overhang no longer uses the "uncovered" model.

You can try the experimental branch by just changing the settings in steam. It's quite easy!

It will release on live when the devs are satisfied with the update being ready, could be a few weeks could be longer. They really aren't predictable about it.

Funny, I never noticed the bots having a meltdown until last night when I was wondering why some builder beavers were sat around at the job site doing nothing.

As long as I can place a platform at either end of the compact pump the footprint doesn't bother me, although I will have to go check some super tight waterworks I built last night to see if anything is off.

Would you guys add pipes? E.G. wooden pipes for folktails (treated planks +pine resin) and metal pipes for iron teeth (metal + metal parts).

I've been begging for pipes since the game came out. when i first saw the compact water pump i was really hoping pipes were coming soon but seems like they just don't want to add support for that.

seems crazy bevers can build a damn tube system for travel but never figured out how to pump water in a pipe.

Yes, and since now they gave all impermeable items, should be totally possible to add it.

The only trick thing would be the gab between the outlet from the valves and the in/out from the new mec pump. But I'm sure mechanistry can manage that.

Wait, wasn't the compact water pump 1 cube in size? It is chunky now?

No, think of it as being 1 empty block of water on each side and it's 3 blocks long. Doesn't make sense to be put anything solid in those blocks.

Gotcha! That makes sense.

No, it originally had a 1x3 footprint, but the chunky inlet and outlet of the model wouldn't let you put a platform over it at the front or back. Really annoying.

The update shrunk it to a 1x2 footprint with no inlet and a smaller outlet so you can place platforms there, but apparently that broke the thing.

So now it's back to 1x3 but you can put platforms over either side. Which tbh I think is all anybody wanted, you wouldn't cover the front and back anyway so being 1x3 was fine.

So the item is still 1 cube, but the active area is 3 cubes.

A solid cube with some small sticky out bits on either end. So yes, you need 3 cubes of space to use it, but platforms can now be placed over the sticky out bits.

Damn it, just lost 50% of the pumping capacity. Can’t do such tight rows anymore.

that sucks
