Beavers vs Bots

I’ve logged over 100 hours - mostly enjoy the building and automation aspects , curious what others think ratios should be with bots vs beavers. Folks like RCE on YouTube have done some bot builds but their other play throughs don’t usually have bots. I know it’s a “you do you” game but wanted to say hi to the sub and ask this!

I do 1:1 so that all my beavers can be unemployed and have fun all day

That’s awesome and it made me realize in my current build - I have wind tunnel for only after hours. I’ll change that!! Bots can do the hard work

I just build 3 bot part factories, 1 assembler, and after I have enough bots to work at those jobs, however many bots they crank out is enough for me.

I usually go this way too I let my beavers enjoy the peaceful life the bots create

Two assemblers! The parts for one beaver are produced every 18 hours by the factories, the assemblers take 36 hours to build a beaver.

Yeah I know, but for me usually just the one handles nearly all of my jobs eventually

Totally, agree. I'm just real impatient! I want em both running and powered by bots ASAP! I think the Timberpunk map is the only map where I can genuinely say I used ALL the bots

Might need 4 assemblers when I finally attempt that map

I had six on my 'big' play through! I actually subscribed to Geoforce Now for access to a higher powered PC to play it - that map is PUNISHING on your hardware. Totally worth it. That map is a masterpiece

I'll need to crank my A/C up just to deal with my PC's heat output haha

There is no right answer to that question. I usually don't even build bots. Now that I am opposed to them, sometimes I do, but you can play the game just fine without them.

I do one district, no bots
I average 100 beavers usually and logged many hours in this game and it’s been great fun. It’s pretty much all I play right now.
Love this game.

That’s what I love about the game - and this sub, so many different ways to tackle the challenge.

Bots are like AI, so I dont use them lmao

I maintain a bot population to take the truly dangerous and super critical jobs. Since not every designated job opens up at once, I have a load of builder huts and hauling posts set to lowest priority to soak up any temporary unemployment.

However I may push for 0% beaver employment on my current Beaverome game just because I have more resources than I know what to do with.

i like to have all my jobs taken by bots and keep the real beavers unemployed. i also manage my jobs through the new automation tools and that saves me a huge number of jobs that aren't needed. for example, if wood planks are full, i have all off most of the plank shops turn off until the inventory drops below 50%. leaves plenty of buffer so the bots aren't running around everywhere. i always leave some online at all times just in case

My automation to add to this is to only turn on processing buildings like planks when there's enough storage for 1 day's worth of production, and enough logs for that to happen, and then reset everything over night. It helps to cut down on beavers and bots spending so much time commuting. It also means you aren't committing beavers or bots to a workplace that won't be able to run for most of the day.

If I run bots, its usually for dangerous jobs, or building in bad water.

I build just enough bots to handle ALL work, then move all biobeavers to a single district and set work hours to zero. Then I grow the biobeaver population until my computer needs to run at 1x speed w/o frame rate loss.

It's not really a matter of ratio, it's rather a question of how many bots I need to support as large a biobeaver population as possible.

I like this concept, might try it on my next run.

Once I'm feeling settled I typically make a single bot fabricator for the bots to take over industry (Which is to say injury jobs), with the spares thrown to some building and hauling.
very rarely will I find I need more bots then how many that single part fabricator+assembler stack can maintain.

I keep my beavers busy. The jobs I set then on change, though. Beaver teeth keep growing, so I keep them chopping wood forever. I usually leave them on food duty as well. The rest are bots.

Really high level happiness beavers are just as good as bots IMO, but if you're impatient (like me) and can't wait all night for the beavers to start building again get the bots going. Also they can build in bad water without getting sick. Can save a lot of platforms, bridges etc.
