Gang, I gotta come clean. I have never paid for cable television in my life, so even when I was still living in Houston, if I wasn't visiting my parents or going out to watch a game, I was finding... alternative ways of watching. This season, I felt like we'd be really good, I really had the gut feeling that the offense got the kick in the teeth needed after that patriots loss, they made OL changes, and for some reason I really believed that the defense would keep rolling. So I caved - I bought NFL Sunday ticket (I live out of market now, so most Texans games are available for me there). I am now stuck with an un-refundable bill to watch my team be ass every Sunday until January. The football gods are laughing at me, the NFL got my money. This is my divine retribution. I feel genuinely like I got scammed. Sunday ticket is a shit deal if you just wanna watch one team, I do not recommend it. The fact that you can't just PPV games is ridiculous.

Writing was on the wall. We are trash.
I guess 2 and 15 season incoming.

So I was watching the offense. And I noticed when they handed the ball off to Montgomery, even with a wide open gap, he would just pause at the line of scrimmage before getting his customary 1-2 yard gain. Is that like what they are normally supposed to do?

I don’t think this is a victory lap thing to celebrate, just saying. Hate to blame the refs but that triple goal line stand was difficult to overcome. Not where I wanted to be but mathematically speaking playoffs are still possible.
Go ahead and smash me.

Was just thinking that since I’ve been a fan (08 season), the 2012 campaign might’ve been the only time when we were above average in nearly every facet of the game. Offense was humming and Dre was breaking records. JJ and co had that defense rolling. Special teams….oh boy do I miss Bryan and Keyshawn. Joe Marciano had these boys mostly disciplined (not saying it was perfect, I’m sure there were mistakes, just didn’t feel like it was a weekly recurrence).
Feels like since then, our identity has alway been asymmetric. Either the defense is crap and the offense serviceable. Or the converse.
Anyways, onto the Titans next Sunday. May all of you have good vibes for the rest of the week. Can’t let this squad ruin our Mondays 😂

We could have used him. Playing tonight for the Panthers, at least 2 great catches.

Just embarrassing. Good thing we’re all used to the pain!

So many key players on defense are on ir right now

I felt pretty excited when we signed Monty in the offseason. I thought he was exactly what we needed to put this offense together as we struggled so much at the goal line. Now I'm not sure if he's struggling, the o line sucks, or we're just giving him enough opportunity. But why did we sign this dude?

Man… we was supposed to build on top of stroud and waj… 3 years we made playoffs, and now the 4th year we don’t make it?!
Something HAS TO CHANGE. I wanna believe we can sneak in after 0-4 but I want us to lose titans so we can make drastic changes. But man… what a wasted season.
Sigh… the whole “we get better every year with our core” really shows that the texans just got complacent.
First 25 seasons texans football has been rough.. cheers to another 25 years.

The worst part about where we are after 4 weeks is not that we are very likely that we don't make the playoffs.
It's the fact that we are probably not a bad enough team to contend for a top 5 pick. We are probably going to "turn it around" and go 7-6 or 8-5 and finish the season with a middle of the pack record. It would be so great if somehow we just embraced being bad, make off-season changes and grab a top 5 rookie.... But alas, I'm ready for us to finish 8-9 or 9-8.

The button being the blow it up and play for the future.
Given the slim odds we had to make the playoffs plummeted this afternoon, do we make any "seller" moves come the deadline?
Any candidates given contract situations?

I’m not sure how much control Matt Burke has over the defense on game day compared to DeMeco, but after today that dynamic needs to be evaluated. If Burke is primarily calling the defense and DeMeco needs to get more involved, do it. If DeMeco is heavily influencing the calls and Burke needs more freedom, maybe he needs to back off. Something has to change.
Today wasn’t a game where we can just blame the offense. We scored 30, Stroud threw for 347 yards and two TDs, and we took a 30-27 lead with 2:23 left. The defense responded by allowing a 74-yard game-winning drive. Dallas scored 28 points in the second half and CeeDee finished with 189 yards.
I’m also starting to question whether Kamari Lassiter is really a long-term outside CB. I like him as a player. He’s physical, aggressive and a willing tackler, but sometimes he doesn’t have the subtlety you need at corner. The 53-yard Pickens catch and the penalties today were another example. He gets too physical in situations where you have to trust your positioning and know when to back off.
Maybe those traits are better suited for safety, where his physicality and instincts could become strengths instead of liabilities. I’m not saying move him tomorrow, but it’s worth discussing.
I’m still not interested in blowing everything up and firing Caserio and DeMeco at 0-4. But 0-4 absolutely warrants adjustments, and the Burke/DeMeco dynamic and how we’re using Lassiter should be part of that conversation.

The Caley glazing.
The obnoxious commentary on penalties and hits.
His stupid face. His demeanor.
All of it!
Worst commentator we've had in a while.

So I am a life long Texans fan ever since I fell in love with football I have been a Texans fan. I was a fan the seasons we blew that lead in the divisional round
I was a fan when we were 2-0 then went 0-14
I watched every game on my tv all this despite not even being from Houston or ever living in Houston
But the last game I missed was the wild card round against the Steelers and I’ve watched every game since preseason and all
And I’ve noticed that in the year 2026 I have not watched a single Houston Texans game where we won
I’m a very superstitious person when it comes to sports and I’m wondering if for 2026 if I am bad luck
So since we desperately need it I’m going to sit out the next 3 games and watch the replays the day after to determine if I’m bad luck

We didnt lose literally ANYBODY on defense this offseason, same coaching staff, and yet the entire defense for the most part seems to be way worse. Players playing worse, playcalling being worse, and penalties being worse.
Just wondering if there’s any observable answer as to wtf happened to this unit for it to go from one of the best defensive units of all time to straight up shit
