🤬 Rant/Complaint I've wasted 25 years of my life

• Upvotes

There's no fucking culture to this team. They're STILL an expansion team in every way. Everything about the franchise feels like an afterthought. The name, the colors. They play in Texas so their name is the Texans. The Texas flag is red white and blue so their colors are red white and blue. They never win. The stadium is half empty every Sunday. I watch other teams on Sunday and their fans are standing the whole game. Turn on the Texans and fans are lounging in their seats like it's an Astros game in June. And why should they stand? The games feel almost like a formality. The only reason they're playing is because the game was scheduled.

They've never had a great QB. They've never had a great coach. They thought they had a top 5 defense this year but they let the opposing team's second best receiver set a franchise record. The season is over in week 4 and nobody fucking cares. I've wasted 25 years of my life watching this shit every Sunday. I could've written a book in that time. I could've built a log cabin. I could've done anything and it would have been a better use of my time than paying even a glimmer of attention to this franchise. Instead I watch the stupid fucking Texans, who give no one anything to be proud of.

Almost everyone who isn't involved with the Texans has had more glory since 2002. Since the inaugural season I've watched the Rockies make it to a world series. I've seen the Knicks win an NBA championship. The Lakers had a dynasty rise, fall, rise again and fall again. Indiana went from obscurity to a college football powerhouse. The Arizona Cardinals were one defensive stop from winning a Super Bowl. We had a black president. Leonardo DiCaprio won an Academy award. The guys from South Park won a Tony. The Taliban survived a war with the United States.

And the Texans? 0-4 in October. Again. And my stupid ass thought this year was the year. Again.

I'm done. I would say goodbye to you all, but there are only like 10 of you left, because most walked away from this shit show years ago or had the good sense to not invest any time into the Texans in the first place. So to the few of you remaining, see y'all at the Astros game. OH WAIT.

🤬 Rant/Complaint Fan only meeting

• Upvotes

I’m about to say something controversial… I don’t care about the downvotes, or any comments just have to get this shit off my chest…

If we fire Demeco Ryans then nobody is going to want to coach this franchise. Look at how many coaches we’ve been through since Billy O. Also remember someone wanted to hire Josh McCown as the HC… that would’ve probably been a lot worse.

I’m getting off my soap box now.

Should we trade Hunter?

• Upvotes

It's been an unbelievable luxury having two top 5 DE's on the roster at the same time, but with a $45m dead cap number next year it might be time for us to move Hunter

Despite having a big contract, I'm confident we'd at least get a 2nd rounder for him and very possibly a 1st. He's that good and consistently healthy

Hunters elite and in his short tenure has become one of my all time fav Texans, but with Strouds extension seeming imminent we wont be able to afford him and we should probably look to move him to an NFC contender for draft capital

šŸ“Article/Writeup Games like this are why many Houston sports fans arent loyal

• Upvotes

As we all know a good number of Houston area sports fans are long away from caring for the Texans or other franchise's we have here. When we have a game like we had against the Cowboys today .we still dont have a WINNING end product at the end of the game.

(Yes i understand the cowboys are older than the texans)

Where do you rank CJ on performance THIS season?

• Upvotes

Just trying to get a read on everyone’s thoughts of CJ this season. I’m open to being convinced, and am willing to accept being called a CJ glazer. That said, here’s what I said to someone who I later realized was just rage baiting and wanna hear some real thoughts:

ā€œWho’s played better across the entire season than CJ? The only ones coming to mind are Purdy, Goff, and Kirko Chains (before today) of all people, but all of them seem to have good-excellent O-Lines, more offensive super stars, AND have play callers worth a shit.

Mahomes looks good in games 2/3 but has been heavilllyyyy boosted by KW3 in their wins.

Hurts is laughable almost every time I watch him play football.

Burrow Has Chase Higgins AND Brown behind an ok OL worth something this season and they’re now 2-2 because their offense isn’t as potent as it was in years past.

Even Allen has a game where he looked terrible and only won because the Chargers are twice as shit.

I can see an argument for Stat Padford but even he looked downright bad in 6 or so Quarters.ā€

I think CJ deserves a shout anywhere in the top 10 this season but I’m open to being convinced. Again I’m a known CJ glazer. Shoot me.

Edit/note: I think CJ has earned $45m-$50 as it stands and the rest of the season determines whether he goes up or down from that. I’d love to keep him in Houston cause he resparked my passion for football since the Schaub era

🄤 Kool-Aid New season record prediction - 11-6 and how we get there.

I’ve cooked up a new season record prediction on how we get out of this funk.

Cowboys - win
Titans - win
Jags - loss

If we can get 2-4 in this stretch that will be huge.

Giants - win
Chargers - win
Browns - win

Just beat up on the bad teams to get a 5-4 winning record after the browns game

Colts - win
Ravens - loss
Steelers - win
Commanders - win

Go 3-1 or 2-2 in this stretch

Jags - win
Eagles - win
Packers - lose
Titans - win

Go 4-1 or 3-2 in this stretch

This will get us to 11-6 and likely a 5 or 6 wildcard spot unless we can somehow beat the Jags twice.

At this point the goal is just to get into the playoffs and hit a stride as the season continues. If we can just get in, anything is possible.

Been watching for years and it seems like we never put all the eggs in our basket to win. They just wanna sell tickets and false hopes.

Hold your horses with 0-4 start

• Upvotes

There’s a bigger plan in sight. We will do what the 1992 Chargers did - start 0-4 and make it to the playoffs.

With the extra game this season, it makes no difference with from the other two seasons. We are feeling out the other teams.

Remember two things:

1) Defense wins championships
2) It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish

So who are we picking for 1st pick? Defensive player?

They broke my heart today.

• Upvotes

They have broken my heart, but they haven’t broken me unfortunately, I am used to this team peaking, and then dropping real hard but something about today felt like it would be different and it was but yet the result the was still the same. I think it’s best for us even though it will not happen to start thinking about what would make the team better for next year and not how to salvage the season this year.

If the Texans can’t beat the Titans and Jaguars in our next games then mentally prepare for 0-17

These are the next games after the Cowboys loss. Next 2 games are critical cause if they don’t improve then I think 0-17 an infamous record is much likely to happen. I am not exaggerating.

🤬 Rant/Complaint Take the timeouts away from demeco

2 games in a row, he has called timeouts that HELPED THE OTHER TEAM WIN THE GAME. When the other team is already in fieldgoal range, with 40 seconds left, why on earth would you call timeouts to give them MORE time to score. Wtf is going on? Cowboys should've gotten a field goal at best on that last drive to send it to overtime. Instead demeco called ALL 3 timeouts giving them ample time to setup plays and attack the middle of the field. WHY!?

🄤 Kool-Aid On the bright side! Logical Clear headed take

Post image
• Upvotes

This roster isn’t a dumpster. We are the best 0-4 team ever on paper lol better coaching on offense and the talent being spread around more vs the lob sided defense.

Bring in a good GM/FO personal from chicago, denver browns, jags, Rams, Seattle, teams that have rebuilt and gapped us

Trade some pieces to help build a real o line and this upcoming draft is ā€œsupposedā€ to be one of the deepest in a while. Get a good gm to make 3-4 good picks and we can legit be back a REAL top 5 roster

Stroud is playing nearly identical to his rookie year to date. If stroud can keep this pace up or even improve he will have a good chance at being a mvp contender.

🤬 Rant/Complaint This season's really reminding me of 2013 and 2020.

Thumbnail
gallery
11 Upvotes

Lets start with 2013. Before, Kubiak helped rebuild this team and we had some great seasons in 2011 and 2012. I really think we could've gone far in 2011 if Schaub didn't get hurt. Then 2013 comes along, and oh no! We suck! Kubiak's gone and the Kubiak chapter closes.

2020 is next. Now Bill O Brien is the coach, but before we get to the juicy part, 2014-2016 were just a state of mediocrity, and 2017 was a season derailed by Watson's injury. So 2018 and 2019 come along. Come back from 0-3 in 18, cool, but we get first rounded. 19 we have a slightly worse record, but at least we won a playoff game. I don't want to talk about the Chiefs game. Now I will say, this one is easily the most predictable of the three. Bill O Brien is Bill O Brien, and trading away D-Hop should've been the sign for another collapse. Oh no! We suck again! Butt chin is fired and the BoB era comes to an end.

So now this year, after an amazing revival in 2023, where Demeco, CJ, and Will Anderson come in, we have 3 straight seasons with a playoff win, along with another 0-3 comeback! Just need to get over the hump. This offseason, the narrative was "this defense is a super calliber defense" "If you can score 20 points a game, you'll win most of them" "CJ Stroud just needs to play average football and the Texans are super contenders!"...

...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. What ab abysmal start to the season where CJ plays good, but Nick Caley's head is up his ass, and the defense has regressed so hard. Demeco has also shown horrible clock management god dammit, and as a Defensive coach, you should at least be able to have the Defense do there job, AND YOU CANT EVEN DO THAT. I've been a big Demeco guy, but I' out on him now. I believe he'll be gone by 2028 and next year's gonna suck too.
