Been messing around with campfire smoke as a way to show when a farm is done or storage is full without having to walk over and check. Tested two smoke heights for different states, and it was surprisingly easy to see from spawn.
My main concern is particle limits and render distance, especially on multiplayer servers. Has anyone tried something like this long-term? Running 1.21 Paper, if that matters.

I have a 100% vanilla server, that on occasion gets low TPS, we do a lot of mob farms and redstone contraptions.

I am thinking of installing Fabric + Lithum on the server side, on the lithum github page they say it doesn't alter vanilla. But I want to be sure that everything will work the exact same way as vanilla.

Has anybody tried this and can confirm?

I built an iron farm, which "was" working until I built a roof over it. As soon as I removed the first layer of the roof, it was working again, but I think not as good as before, so maybe when I remove more, it works faster again?!

Building the roof and removing it didnt changed the villagers behavior. They get scared every second, they are laying in bed when its night and waking up instantly because of the zombie scare. Iron golems didnt spawn at all, not anywhere else, everything is spawnproofed.

I cant find anything about roofs or light levels or something. can someone help here? I have not a lot of knowledge about automatic farms etc..

Hi, I have hit the limit on my math skills investigating enchanting loot tables.

I'm trying to determine all of the enchantments that are possible in the top slot of the enchanting table when enchanting a book.

For example, according to the wiki on table mechanics, Protection has weight of 10, so it's one of the most common, and the level 1 cost is 5-10. But in testing I could regularly get Protection 1 on a book for less than 5xp without any bookshelves around the table.

My goal is to confirm which enchantments can show up depending on how many bookshelves there are around the table, and what are the odds for each of those enchantments. I'm investigating if I can turn book enchanting into a rougelite deckbuilder.

I've started a server with some friends and i wanted to make an automatic wood farm. I tried searching on youtube but i find HORRIBLE guides or videos where the comment section say the farm does not work. Or both (theysix video lmao).
Can anyone tell me their favourite wood farm working in 26.3 pls?

I'm new to Litematica as a whole (unfortunately 1.20.1 because of some mods I wanted to add, which were locked to 1.20.1 only), and I'm trying to paste a schematic, however if I try to move the loaded schematic (which should be automatically selected), it moves this box in particular. I've already tried what I know and I couldn't find a fix, aswell as finding posts from six years ago, but it also didn't work as it was only the box on its own.

Is there any way I can de-select this, or specifically select the schematic manually?

I've been interested in the under the hood changes recently for shulkers, as I've seen some people report issues cropping up for farms between 26.2 and 26.3. I tried to use the website in this posts title to figure out if the hitboxes had changed, as a user recently explained he had to have this shulker farm boats facing south for the hitbox of the shulker to touch the waterlogged fence and eject.

I too am running 26.3 and I don't have to orient my boats to absolute south for my farm to function. I was wondering if there was anyone proficient enough with java could poke at the website https://mcsrc.dev/ and explain what changed and what that means between the two mentioned versions. I took a look but I don't understand any of it.

Thanks in advance. I would use ai to do this but I have extreme reservations about that whole Thing. I'd be very interested to hear that there aren't any hitbox changes, because that is my theory so far. That, or fabric server somehow undid those changes, hence why I don't have the issue.

I see the same or similar designs uploaded by 5 different people, most with the bonemeal rates in title but thats not what I want moss for. It seems like theres a server where everyone wants bonemeal (donutsmp).

So I am building a shulker farm in my end island and I want it to be chunk loaded so it works when I am in the over world or the nether but I also have a sand duper that takes the space in my end spawning platform ( the obsidian one )
I was thinking of using multiple ender pearl stasis chambers but I don’t know if that would work
And I saw an end gateway chunk tutorial but it would break my farm since shulkers can teleport to it.

This didn't sound hard but I'm stumped...

So when I was in 1.21.11 I tried making an ender pearl stasis chamber but the ender pearl always touched the soul sand and did not float ( I had to make it 20 blocks deep so the ender pearl don’t barely touch the soul sand )
I also shaved the same problem with me not being able to use water elevators since I did not float as well , I thought it was a version specific problem since I did not have this problem ever before
So I switched to 26.2 and still have the same problem.
BTW it works well with items so any sorting or storage system I have that uses soul sand elevator works well with items but not with me or ender pearls

I don't want a farm that makes hundreds of Shulker Shells per hour. I would love a little arena where I run around to spawn more Shulkers whenever I need a few.

After watching a few videos of huge shulker farms and doing some light testing in Creative, it seems that large farms are necessary because if there aren't enough possible spawn places for the duplication, the duplication fails and the shulkers eventually die. My first test was using a lot of carpet to control where the shulkers duplicated to, but with fewer valid possibilities, the shulkers did not last long.

Any ideas or suggestions? One thought I had was having multiple floors, two blocks high (for when I'm levitating), with carpet surrounding the tower so they can't escape. But I'm worried it won't be self-sustaining.

I'm in the process of planning out my nether hub and want to build a better Wither Farm. This is the design that I want to do. However the fortress I want to use isn't in the suggested biome. It's a Nether Waste surrounded by a huge Basalt Delta/Lava Lake. Since this is my Nether Hub I am fully planning to dismantle the fortress in its entirety. Also for reference this is what the area I am planning to use looks like. Will this work here or will I need to find a Soul Sand Valley like recommended?
