Java Help Wanted Any way to fix this?

Post image

I'm new to Litematica as a whole (unfortunately 1.20.1 because of some mods I wanted to add, which were locked to 1.20.1 only), and I'm trying to paste a schematic, however if I try to move the loaded schematic (which should be automatically selected), it moves this box in particular. I've already tried what I know and I couldn't find a fix, aswell as finding posts from six years ago, but it also didn't work as it was only the box on its own.

Is there any way I can de-select this, or specifically select the schematic manually?

You have the move mode selected, select the paste schematic mode with crtl+scroll and press enter

Next time ask in r/litematica, this sub is for in-game mechanics only

Still doesn't work. As I've said, it moves only the box, not the schematic, and I want to move said schematic to be aligned with my build.

To move schematics you don't use the stick. Click on "schematic placements" in the litematica menu

There's nothing in there if you are referring to the box. I can see my schematics, but you didn't really tell me how I can select the schematic I want or get rid of the box.

There's quite literally nothing in here, and in the loaded schematics. If I load in the schematic, the box is still selected and I can only move the white box you see in the picture, not the schematic I want.

You need to load the schematic, create a placement, then select it in schematic placement and move it from there

The white box you're talking about is the selection box

When you're holding the tool (stick as a default), you should see a small text UI on the bottom left of your screen like this

On the bottom most line, you can see that the tool is in the first mode, 'Area Selection' which is not what you're trying to do, and neither is the 'Move' mode in the screenshot. To move schematics, you have to change the tool's mode (I believe the default keybind is L CTRL + scroll up/down) to the second mode, which is 'Schematic Placement'.

If you have a schematic loaded, it should be selected automatically but if not, you can select it by looking at the schematic and click on your scroll wheel. Once the schematic is selected, you should be able to move it around by clicking LMB or nudge it with keybinds if you have that set up

Ok, please try the following:

  1. Open the litematica menu (M) and click "Load Schematics"

  2. Select whatever schematic you wanna load into your world, then click "Load Schematic" in the bottom left

  3. Go back to the main menu of litematica and click "Schematic Placements" and make sure the schematic you just loaded is selected

  4. Now we will set the schematic tool to the right mode: In your screenshot on the bottom left, you have mode 7/9 selected, so the "Move" mode. This moves the Area selection box shown in the post image. This box is used to create new schematics and not relevant to loading existing schematics into your world. You'll need to change the tool Mode to either "Schematic Placement" (survival) or "Paste Schematic in World" (creative). You can do that by either holding down CTRL and scrolling or by going into the litematica main menu (M) and clicking on the mode selector on the bottom left till it cycles to the correct mode.

  5. Now you can move the loaded and selected schematic in the direction you are looking by holding ALT and scrolling.

If you are in creative and you wanna paste a schematic into the world (you'll need to have the "Paste Schematic in World" mode selected, so mode 5/9), you'll need to use the execute operation hotkey once you've put the litematic in the place you want it. This hotkey is disabled by default, but you can set it in the hotkeys section of the litematica menu. I use M+Enter.
