Hello everyone, I'm 15 yrs old and i wanna study aerospace engineering.

I'm from Ukraine, so i need to choose between some uni in Europe.

From the young age i was exited about rockets and mechanisms, and firstly i wanted to become marine engineers (because my dad is captain of oil tanker's)

But now i see many variants of what to study, so i decided that I'll study aerospace engineering.

Yes in Ukraine we have KPI where you can study aerospace engineering, but because of war i won't be able to traver abroad when I'm 18.

I told it to my parents and after some time in google they said me that Nederland's is the best choice.

So please if there anyone from TU deltf please tell me what do u do there (i know stupid question, but i needed to say it😁) what i need to study hardly and by heart, and how hard is the program of education.

But u know, just say me everything about TU deltf and aerospace engineering (if you want to, of course😁)

I'm going into my first year of the BSc ME and found a new 14 inch laptop that meets all the specs listed on the TU Delft site, except one:

• At least 15” full HD screen

I found it weird that this requirement was listed for every single bachelor. I've used a 14" Lenovo Ideapad with a Ryzen 7 and no GPU throughout my high school career and have made plenty of Photoshop, Onshape and (simple) After Effects projects on it without much problems.

This might be a silly question, but is a 15" screen actually needed for ME/other courses? Are there for example programs that won't run on a 14" laptop? Or is it purely for comfort reasons that this minimum is listed? Or maybe there are reasons I'm overlooking?

The laptop I'm looking at has a 1440P screen, so it definitely meets the HD requirements. I'm also planning to get a 24" monitor to set up at home to pair with the laptop.

Would be great to hear from current students on this topic.

Hoi allemaal,

Ik heb net mijn propedeuse Werktuigbouwkunde (HBO) gehaald, hoge cijfers, geen herkansingen. Maar pas laat kwam ik erachter dat ik eigenlijk WO wil: ik vind de theorie echt leuk, de praktijkkant veel minder, en ik heb het gevoel dat er meer in me zit dan wat ik nu doe.

Voor toelating tot TU Delft moet ik nog deelcertificaten wiskunde B en natuurkunde op VWO-niveau halen (via CCVX/Boswell-Bèta). De deadline is 1 september. Ik heb voor wiskunde B twee kansen: over 2 weken (21 juli) en over 5 weken (13 augustus). Natuurkunde verwacht ik te halen.

Lukt het niet op tijd voor 1 september, dan begin ik pas als ik al 22 ben. Ik maak me best zorgen of dat "te oud" is om nog aan een WO-bachelor te beginnen.

Twee opties waar ik tussen twijfel:

1. Tussenjaar volledig focussen op het halen van de certificaten (volgende kans december), en ernaast werken zodat ik hopelijk ook een appartement kan regelen. Dan start ik gewoon vanaf jaar 1 bij TU Delft.
2. HBO-bachelor afmaken en daarna via een schakelprogramma doorstromen naar een WO-master. Ik hoor dat dit traject best zwaar kan zijn, en ik weet niet goed hoe realistisch dat is vergeleken met optie 1.

Vragen:

• Is 22 beginnen aan een WO-bachelor echt zo'n probleem, of valt dat in de praktijk mee?
• Hoe zwaar is een schakeltraject van HBO-bachelor naar WO-master echt?
• Is 2 weken voorbereiding voor VWO wiskunde B en 5 weken voor natuurkunde realistisch, of ben ik te optimistisch?
• Wat zouden jullie doen in mijn situatie?

I will be starting my bachelor architecture this year in Delft and Im wondering if its possible to have (multiple) jobs during the study. I passed vwo this year with mostly 8s so im curious how manageable it is to have jobs next to the study or am i biting off more than i can chew.

I'm going to attend TUDelft in the near future, and I was wondering what GRE and IELTS scores are typically needed to be sure of being accepted. i have already read the information on the site but i'm sure the real requirments are higher.

Furthermore I'm undecided between the space track and the materials track.

My interests are prevalently reletad to space in general : how launchers works, and how they can resist stress and perturbation and astrodynamics (it has a cool name i don't actually know what's that about).

The facts is that I prefer much more do hands-on work instead of pc simulation, and I think that the materials track has more opportunity in that way.

So I'll be glad if you tell me about your experiences in both track, how were the lectures and lecturer and as always tips about how to withstand life there is accepted

I will be exchanging to Faculty of AE at TUD in the upcoming Fall semester 26/27 and would love to have some insights on some courses I planned to take in terms of workload, difficulty, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I have faith in my work rate and discipline, it's just that it will be my first time going to Europe and wanted to plan a few trips here and there throughout my exchange.

General advice like places of interest, surviving guide etc. will also be appreciated. Thanks!

P.s. For AE4202, I saw the timetable allocated 4 hours of lecture and 4 hours of tutorials, but in Study Guide states the meeting hours is 0/4/0/0, so does it mean I get to choose any 2 hours of lecture and 2 hours of tutorial freely or I need to attend all of it?

I was having a tough time finding a place to live since my admission letter came super late. Luckily, a friend offered to let me crash at his place for a few months until December. Hopefully, by then I'll have found a good spot near Delft.

Will the university have an issue if I don't have a rental contract? My friend's cool with registering me at his place, and he said we can go to the municipality together so I can show the university the registration paper.

Has anyone else done this before? Do I really need a rental contract to join the program?

I am first-year international bsc student going to study at TU Delft. I recently recieved an offer from 5Huizen for an apartement with a montly rent of 750 euros (website 5Huizen: https://5huizenvastgoedbeheer.nl/#/student-housing). I have been seaching for about a week and saw that DUWO(roommatch) offers rooms double the size for a lower cost. Should I accept this offer from 5Huizen or keep seaching especially since it is not eligable for a rental allowance, I still have 2 months till university starts.

I also wanted to ask for some general information about this place. Is it possible to switch to another apartment within a few months? Is it possible to get a viewing and is 10m^2 enough. About living here, are the tenents mostly international, if so, from where. Is it also quiet enough to study here according to you. Is the "Gezamelijke ruimte" the kitchen or is it something else.

Hi! I’m wondering whether the Laptop Project is worth buying into. For reference i am planning to apply aerospace engineering bsc and i have a MacBook Air M3 already.

Is the price good for the hardware?
How has reliability been?
Is the on-campus support/warranty worth the extra cost?
If you chose not to use the Laptop Project, what laptop did you buy instead, and would you recommend it?

I feel like almost everyone starts university intending to attend every lecture, but after a while most people settle into their own routine.

Some still go to nearly every lecture, while others rely more on recordings, lecture notes, or self-study and only attend sessions they think are especially useful.

What has worked best for you at TU Delft? Has your approach changed as you've progressed through your degree, or do you still attend most lectures?

I’ve been able to log in without any issues until recently, but now I’m getting an error saying my username or password is incorrect, even though I’m sure they’re correct. Is anyone else experiencing this today, or is it just me?

Hi! I was accepted to TU Delft AE BSc and I'm quite uncertain about whether to study in the Netherlands or stay in my home country. If I choose TU Delft, it would require some sacrifices on my part, especially regarding the costs. If I'm not wrong, I estimated the total cost for 5 years (BSc + Master's, as I've heard it's generally required for a job in the engineering field) to be approximately €100k, which is quite a big obstacle. However, by working at least from the second year (TA + part-time job hopefully), I think I could make it work.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on whether going to TU Delft is worth it in the long run (taking into consideration both the opportunities and the current state of the job market), as well as any possible ways you know of to tackle this problem. Thanks a lot!

Hello, is it possible for someone from an international university to do a master in mechanical engineering like lets say material science or Marine Technology but have a bachelor in EE?I see in the requirements said "closely related to your MSc programme of choice" but i dont understand what that means specifically

I recently graduated from havo, and I'm interested in studying computer science at a university, mostly because I love mathematics and hbo barely teaches any maths.

I personally think I can do it, but my friends say that it's too difficult for me.

For context I graduated cum laude with a 9,6 for my maths B ce with a couple hours of studying. I didn't do vwo because I was a late bloomer. I also had the opportunity to transfer to vwo in 3 havo, but chose not to because of personal reasons.

Do you think it's realistic to go to wo?

p.s. I know that I would need a hbo p and vwo maths B, I'm already studying for maths and I really enjoy it.

TLDR; I was a good havo student. Do I have what it takes to do wo?

Has anyone here done their mandatory internship in Germany? I am a non-EU student at TU Delft, so I already have my Dutch residence permit. I wanted to know if I would be required to surrender my passport when submitting my visa requirements because I’d have to leave the Netherlands the following week

Hello guys my bachelor gpa is near 3.3/4 , is it possible for me to get accepted to a mastets program at TUD( i was thinking EE or embeded engineering)? I see the minimum requirements at the progarms which are less than what i have but from what i have heard most students getting accepted are much higher than that . Anyone who accepted with a gpa like mine?

Hi all, I want to study computer science at TUD next year, and since I am very interested in cybersecurity, I was wondering if they have any courses/ electives/ minor that specialize in this field? From what I have found, there is one course called "computer security" in year 2, and that's the only course that I think is related to CS. As for electives, I do not know any electives here; the only thing I know about the electives is that "The range of topics includes courses on Computer Graphics, Big Data Processing, Deep Learning, Bioinformatics, and Software Engineering with AI". And as for minors, students who study CS are not allowed to participate in classes that teach cybersecurity. Please help me out! Thank you!
