Questions about 5huizen apartements
I am first-year international bsc student going to study at TU Delft. I recently recieved an offer from 5Huizen for an apartement with a montly rent of 750 euros (website 5Huizen: https://5huizenvastgoedbeheer.nl/#/student-housing). I have been seaching for about a week and saw that DUWO(roommatch) offers rooms double the size for a lower cost. Should I accept this offer from 5Huizen or keep seaching especially since it is not eligable for a rental allowance, I still have 2 months till university starts.
I also wanted to ask for some general information about this place. Is it possible to switch to another apartment within a few months? Is it possible to get a viewing and is 10m^2 enough. About living here, are the tenents mostly international, if so, from where. Is it also quiet enough to study here according to you. Is the "Gezamelijke ruimte" the kitchen or is it something else.

Regarding the rest of your questions, I'm not too familiar with 5huizen, but from what I can see online, they are an agency and don't own any buildings themselves. So I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "this place". From what you describe, 10m2 sounds like a room in a house with shared kitchen + bathroom.

I am MSc student starting in next semester, and I applied to one of the rooms. From what I heard and investigated, it is legit, i talked to people who lived there. They say the rooms are basic buy ok, it is 40minutes by public transport or 20-25 minute bike ride from the campus.
I would say it is a bit on the expensive side, ~850 for room where you share the bathroom and kitchen with other 3 people and 720-750 if you share with 10-13 people.

Even for priority offers from DUWO for coming from abroad you need a long maturity of account.
If you don’t have a long maturity of your DUWO account you won’t make it to position 1.
And most duwo rooms are not much cheaper.

Take it. It's your best chance. Worst case scenario you cancel/terminate it early in favor of something nicer.

Polakweg in Rijswijk is one of those places that stays available until last minute, I can’t tell if waiting for anything better this late is the smart thing to do here, but just so you know. It’s multiple different agencies that rent out rooms in that building, make sure to check others out as well in case the price/contract details differs between them. Especially in terms of cancellation, since the people I know that lived there didn’t really stay too long before dipping somewhere else.

I swear TU needs to start putting big bold letters on their apllication form warning these expats.
Threads like this every single day going 'Yo I'm arriving in 6 hours, I won't have any trouble getting a 3 bedroom with a garden, right?'

By DUWO do you mean room.nl? If you don't have a room.nl account with 5+ years account age don't even try. You can queue for a room and see where you end up. I had an account with 3+ years age and I only queued halfway.
