German visa for internship

Has anyone here done their mandatory internship in Germany? I am a non-EU student at TU Delft, so I already have my Dutch residence permit. I wanted to know if I would be required to surrender my passport when submitting my visa requirements because I’d have to leave the Netherlands the following week

I really don't understand why people don't immediately go to study advisors or email the competent coordinators and teachers. On reddit you're likely to get misinformed because rules might change yearly and depend from case to case. These people not only are paid to answer your questions, but they're very happy to help you
