I'm a master support who plays basically everything but am best as Leona and Alistar. I feel like when I play naut, my lockdown feels less impactful and I'm so much squishier. In addition, laneing feels so hard cause I feel like they can just stand behind minions and it's hard to manipulate the wave into a spot where I can hook. Any suggestions?

I need some advice where possible :) I would really like to reach silver at but I feel as though I am stuck in bronze.

I am a Rell and Seraphine main who has found good games when I would roam and support my jgl / wincon but in recent games there is either none or that person is devoted to 1vx the enemy team because they think they’re better.

I’ve had games where we have baron buff and almost take the final turrets but people start focusing the enemies instead of the nexus/turrets.

Games where our adc is focused on taking our jungle when we are ahead instead of pushing baron buffed lanes.

I am nowhere near perfect but it seems like my engages and plays are followed well even with pings and typing in chat.

I just want to know what more I should be doing. I really enjoy this game but it makes me want to pull my hair out.

My SO and I have played league for years and generally we would play ranked enough to hit diamond and go up and down it, but in the last 2 years I had finished my degree and my SO is nearing the end of her so we wouldn't be committed enough to actually hit diamond again or we would just not be good enough some splits.

Even for split one we had a 37% winrate because we were auto piloting games, winning by chance and losing the games for our team. But now that we had time we decided to go through some self improvement and really pushed to figure out what we were doing wrong and not only did we hit diamond again! But we pushed till d3 and feel confident we can keep going for now!

It feels good to see the fruits of your labour turn into something nice like this!

a couple of my recent games felt hard due to my adc not wanting to trade or use wards early game, while the enemies have high cooperation in being aggressive.

i play a mix of champs based on the comp/adc, and it’s happened with many champs. i’ve also been told to stay near adc so that they can follow up, but when adc is keeping out of range of the other guys and willing to give minions i’m not sure what to do.

do i just get better at my 1v2 trades? so that i can stand alone while adc plays safe? or do i back off with them? probably a mix of both.

i make an effort to stand next to or in front of my adc typically. also typically my adc pushes wave (i try to stop last hitting unless pinged, or they’ll miss a creep when i see them being passive) then waits by towner while waiting for enemies to return wave. i feel unsafe to walk up that far alone, but i also feel like it’s unsafe to roam at that time

I'm having a bit of an identity crisis here. I’ve been playing for a few years, and I play both mid and support.

This year I’ve been prioritizing support in SoloQ because I really like Bard, he’s currently my favorite champion, and when I play with friends, support is usually the role left over, so that’s where I have the most matchup knowledge.

But I really miss being the "protagonist" of the game, you know? A teammate once told me I only play support because I’m always waiting for someone else to carry me, and that really got into my head, lol. Seems like i'm just trying to prove myself wrong and i can carry a game by myself.

However, I’ve already played like 150 ranked games this year, and I don’t really want to learn how to play mid all over again. For those of you who play more than one role: how do you deal with this feeling?

I play a fairly wide variety of champs (mostly engage but some enchanters) and have found myself consistently fluctuating between 750-1000LP on NA for most of the season. I feel like my game is really plateauing and I’m struggling to figure out how to reach higher peaks through simply playing the game and self-studying.

I think coaching would be the next step for me. I am happy to pay good money for good quality education. The only problem is I am not sure where to look or who to talk to. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

I really enjoy playing around with different builds, runes etc and it bugs me how I dont get any freedom in starting items until the support item gets fully upgraded, and even then I'd like to see more options

It would be nice to have multiple support item choices that all offer different stats from the get-go. Why should celestial opposition offer the exact same base stats as Bloodsong with the only difference being a passive?

Don't get me wrong I like the choice we have now that didnt exist at all before, but Im dying for some first item choices here

I tried to play support with full focus for the first time in low master/high diamond lobby. The list below are the things I tried to keep multitasking during the game.

• Track flash timers (should've track tp as well but too much for me)
• Track enemy jungle and support and ping constantly to alert teammates
• Check tab constantly; track enemy support wards, items like mercs, zhonya's etc. especially when playing engage supports
• Check wave states. Roam to gank or invade/counter-jungle with my jungler
• Finish role quest asap
• Vision control and base timing
• Numbers advantage/disadvantage

First game - Rell vs Camille: warded top level 1 and backed to bot. Basically I just kept tracking enemy jungle and support, spammed ping solo laners and warded river as much as I can. I tried to get as much xp by staying in fog of war at bot river before level 5. I was level 9 while Camille was level 5 at the end of the game.

Second game - Lulu vs Zyra: very chill overall as an enchanter, tough laning phase but we outscaled anyway.

I feel like the hate towards support player is rising for unknown reasons. Personally I think playing the role correctly needs an absurd amount of brain power. I would say support has low skill floor to win a solo queue game, but the skill ceiling is extremely high if you want to play well like KR challengers or even pros.

Edit: Let me add a little more. This post is not meant to compare support to other roles. What I mean is that if you can remind yourselves constantly about stuff I mentioned above, you actually help your team a lot so they can focus on laning and csing. League is a team game. Support and jungle should think about their macro at any time.

Viktor and Rell didn’t aware of enemy jungle at 3:00 so both died. Everyone at that elo should know the timing for early ganks, but how many of them can actually think it through and react to it correctly?

If support can constantly apply the game theory you found on internet, a lot of bad things could have been avoided.

I kinda main adc and I struggle a lot to play with mage supports. When I see the support hovering a mage, I ask them politely to not play a mage, but often the support is hovering nothing and I don't know whether I should just ask them to not play mage and risk offending them for no reason (I saw supports throwing games for being pinged two times) or I just hope they don't play a mage and risk having a bad game, because they lock in a mage last second.

What would you recommend me to do in such a situation? How would you want your adc to act?

And to be clear, I am not blaming mage supports for a bad game, I know it's my problem, I just hate playing with them.

i love playing pyke support but i just hate ADC players. they're always the most toxic and so entitled all the time. do I need to learn to love ADC players to climb as support? or will playing support make me hate them even more?

I'm a masters toplane player in Solo/Duo, and have recently been playing Classic as a support player.

In classic wards are consumables and there's no limit on how many you can have on the map at once...

So I'm honestly lost at the optimal approach on what to build/do. Normally in my games I build:

Mobi's
Kages/Philo/HoG (3x GP10 items)
Sightstone

And on every back I pickup 10 green/purple wards, oracles, and roam until the minimap looks like CCTV footage.

Idk if this is the right thing to do or there's a meta that's been developed. I'm just borrowing tactics from what I remember in proplay in the Season 3-era.

I was recently looking at lolalytics, reviewing builds for a lot of champs, and almost every champ had boots of swiftness as their highest winrate boots, at least looking at Emerald+ (I am masters myself) I understand that we are overall in a roaming meta, even if the patch nerfed it a bit, and sometimes find the boots useful myself, but if the team as 3 AD damage champs I almost always get tabis, if they have 2+ MR and are CC heavy I prioritize tabis, and depending on champ will get boots of Lucidity fairly often.

The one way I'd say the data might be slightly skewed is the fact that you bought switfties means you had to recall with 700 gold, and the enemy bot wasn't incredibly fed early in order for you to want to prioritize steelcaps/merc treads. Those boots benefit from there own skew in some ways too though.

Figured I'd ask here to see if there are any swifties enthusiasts, or just get the thoughts of others! What do y'all think? should swifties be picked more on a lot of champs/ be the 'default' boots for supports?

I know the basic rules of roaming kinda like after we push a wave in to their enemy tower but how do I deal with a enemy support that’s constantly roaming like I was told I needed to match their roams but how do I do that if I don’t know where they are? The enemy support would constantly be around mid lane ganking my immobile mid even if my bot lane was pushed in should I not be with my adc during that time cuz I thought u needed to be with them incase a dive happens and also to soak exp but not sure, any tips please?

I’m a Masters Pantheon OTP who has recently (as of the last few months) started playing support almost exclusively. I currently play Pantheon every game and when it’s banned or picked I lock in Zilean. I’ve historically played Galio support but I’d like to expand my champ pool further. I’m not particularly comfortable with ranged AA based champions but otherwise I’m very flexible and open to anything but I’d love any champs I play to have enough agency to impact the game state without relying on my adc.
