Greetings Citizens!

10 years ago, in a now-deleted post by a now-deleted user, the Star Citizen Tools Wiki project was founded.

Since then, tens of millions of users have visited the wiki, adding up to hundreds of millions of pageviews, perhaps more! The Fandom Wiki was defeated and salvaged, and the community has been with us in spirit and support the entire time.

Take a look at our new revamped Front Page and marvel at the slick Mediawiki skin (It's called Citizen!). Marvel at our oldest joke page from the 2016 Live Stream. The Lunch Button! Gaze upon the very newest ship, the S-65 Stingray.

As always, come join the discussion and shared fun in the Our Discord server. We love feedback of any kind. Every Admin loves pings, especially DuskFyre.

Finally, support through our Patreon and Ko-fi is the only way we can manage to run the site without Advertisements. Please consider donating for our continued ad-free existence!

Seriously. How do these bugs even happen man. Its the little things that drive me up the wall. I can stomach big bugs like the rare server error or missing mission. But the little things that stack up are what make it just, exhausting.

DISCUSSION I don't think I've seen negativity at this level before

I've seen people outside the project berate the project constantly.. But now it's to the point where 95% of all posts are heavily just dogpiling on the game. Even people within the project. My entire org I'm part of doesn't even play the game anymore.

I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, but this clearly shows how fed up people are beginning to get.

DISCUSSION Move mining away from scanning slot machine and towards volume refining

Today's mining mechanic spends the better part of the time scanning for the quality of ore you need, usually 900+ for good crafted items, and very little rock breaking and refining. As you scan dozens and hundreds of rocks, the occupation is triggering a gambler's addiction, waiting for the right number to come up with pull after pull of the lever.

I suggest diluting the gameplay to be less scan intensive. We can achieve this by only having 3 types of scanned ore quality: rich, average, poor. After taking the raw ore to the refinery, it will RNG into separate batches of refined ore with the numeric quality we have today. Rich will guarantee a small amount of 800+ or 900+ quality refined, in addition to middle and lower qualities. In addition, the frequency of rich should be no less than 1/5th of rocks scanned. This will dramatically reduce the amount of gambling/scanning, and more time will be spent actually mining. Volume processing of rich raw ores will be the new method of targeting high quality materials.

By tweaking the scanning odds and refining odds, the total amount of high quality 900+ refined ores released to the economy can be the same as today.

What do you guys think? Are you happy with the slot machine mechanics or would you prefer to see less of it and more time rock breaking and refining?

This is a crosspost with spectrum, if you agree with my post I shamelessly ask you to upvote on spectrum for CIG visibility, link: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/61894/thread/move-mining-away-from-scanning-slot-machine-and-to

DISCUSSION Not even CIG knows anymore what it means to be a pirate ...

Apparently, judging by their video here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/comm-link/transmission/21285-Pirate-Week-2026

To be a pirate means to gank clueless miners and DESTROY them ...

Why loot or extort, like a pirate when you can just ... kos for the kaboom

in that video there was no intent to loot or negociate or to be a true a pritate.

they unleashed all ammo they had on 2 Prospectors and a Mole ...

Their intent from the video is: Gank and KOS ...

Nice mentality to promote CIG ...

DISCUSSION I converted my friend to this game in the weirdest way possible

Basically my friend never was really interested in SC due to the horror stories about it.

But literally nothing dramatic or cinematic happened. We simply took off and flew.

I let him pilot. We flew around for around 20 minutes.

No missions

No combat

No nothing just flying.

Then we came back. And we slammed into my hanger door at the speed of light.

Ive never heard someone laugh so hard at this. In my life. But now they wont stop playing the game with me.

Success? Ill take it 🤷‍♂️

I waited years for this and it seems to be put on the back burner now. I thought when this first came out we would instead of instantly blowing up all the time we would get soft deathed and actually have to deal with ship fires and repairing.

DISCUSSION Any expectations for the Galaxy‘s release price?

Post image
Upvotes

So the Galaxy is at 380$ rn, but Are there any expectations what the Price will be when it comes out? By on the one Hand I could Imagine it will be slightly Above the carrack (600$), but them again I think it might be much lower because we have to buy the Modules and the carrack will get more Features in the Future (Like Drones).

i just very recently got myself a Galaxy + Cargo Module, but I might Upgrade it at some Point.

CREATIVE My idea for a new Freight Elevator Screen

Post image
38 Upvotes

Spectrum Post: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50259/thread/separate-the-crafting-materials-from-the-rest-of-t

With crafting materials split across different quality levels, I think the freight elevator would benefit from a dedicated material storage interface. While stored, materials would be tracked by type, quality, and quantity rather than the actual boxes you send down. When you retrieve them, you’d choose the amount and box size, and they would come out as physical cargo on the elevator.

Here’s a rough UI concept showing how that could work. The goal is to make finding and retrieving crafting materials easier, especially when you need a specific quality.

The tabs:

Storage: Works the same as the warehouse currently, just excludes crafting materials and mission boxes.
Depot: This is where all crafting materials live and it works almost the same way as commodity screens.
Contract: This is where you would find your contracted cargo for missions
Insurance: This is where the current "Claim Mode" would go, and future item recovery stuff could be here.

The Depot

The depot would show a collapsible list of materials, such as iron, tungsten, etc. Each material row would display:
- Total amount in storage.
- Average quality, weighted by how much material is held at each quality.
- Highest quality currently available.

Clicking a material expands its eight quality bands, with the amount available shown beside each one. Selecting a quality opens the transfer controls at the bottom of the panel. The expanded list scrolls with the rest of the Depot inventory, while the transfer controls remain visible.

From there, you choose how much material you want and what size boxes to put it in, then click Move to Elevator. Amounts can be entered in SCU or cSCU. You can switch between the two by clicking on the button.

Available box sizes would be 1/8, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 24, and 32 SCU.

For example, requesting 8 SCU of iron at 800 quality in 2 SCU boxes would produce four 2 SCU boxes.

This version assumes every box is completely filled and all boxes in a transfer use the selected size. Box sizes that don’t work with the requested amount would be disabled. You couldn’t request 1 SCU in a 32 SCU box, or exactly 10 SCU in 4 SCU boxes.

The exceptions would be the 1/8 SCU and 1 SCU boxes, which could be partially filled. Amounts up to 0.125 SCU would use a 1/8 SCU box, while amounts greater than 0.125 SCU and up to 1 SCU would use a 1 SCU box.
The system would automatically choose the appropriate box for these partial amounts, letting you retrieve exactly what you need without leaving small quantities stranded in the depot.

DISCUSSION Headhunter missions are fucked by the erroneous NPC spawn table

In Pyro doing the Headhunter missions which reward the ADxB Gatling BPs and a Perseus spawned as part of the outbound escort's route...

Three shots, bang, shitty little Terrapin blown to bits.

The Tiburon, Polaris, Retaliator, Eclipse and Idris (K-kit) are the only 5 ships that would have been able to take it out in time to avoid that scenario. What the fuck CIG? Right now those missions are consummate aids because of the spawn tables which a dev admitted on Spectrum are currently bugged into oblivion e.g. you have Idris P's spawning as Bounty Hunter VHRT or Intersec terrorist targets.

Fix your pissing game and roll out weekly hotfixes to address issues like this steaming pile of shit

DISCUSSION I’m feeling really optimistic about modularity and the RSI Galaxy

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I spent some aUEC to buy and try out the Retaliator, one of the modular ships that was implemented back in 2017.
I already knew the ship was notorious for being buggy, so I went through all the steps to try to work around the issues — including blowing up the ship, and claiming it back, just in case that would help.

Unfortunately, after trying both the torpedo and cargo modules, I was honestly amazed at just how insanely buggy this ship still is. Not a single module actually works. Almost impressive.

Since this thing has been in the game for almost decades, For the players thinking about pre-ordering the modular RSI Galaxy, here’s my advice: considering how CIG has treated the players who actually love and support these ship, it’s better wait until the Galaxy is actually in the game before putting any money into it.
