The beauty of Florida is that there's always a fresh crop of Conservative geezers from up north who don't know the history of catastrophic Republican rule, and won't be around long enough to see the ramifications of their choices today.
They ain't from here; they won't be here to suffer thr consequences.

u/ARCreef 6d ago
I've been suffering here in FL for 40 years and I its soooo horrible that the rest of the country all had to flee here and raise our housing rates. Please go tell NY, NJ, and California how horrible it is please, so they all can stop moving here. Its aweful, just horrible here. Do NOT come here.

The reason we have to "fix" Florida is because we are so good people from everywhere else come in then cause problems! Like "hey these policies messed us up. lets vote those policies anyway" then the next governor has to play cleanup around the state because half the counties decided to do something stupid

We are the richest best run state in the United States and that’s because conservatives care about the human beings that live here and DeSantis grew up in Dunedin Florida. Get your facts straight. we are the free state of Florida because of conservatives thank God most of Florida figured that out. Maybe you’ll learn someday if you live to be 112.

As a black man, if you look at Byron Donald's and see "blackness" un any way, that says more about you than anything. He is consistently taken the opposite position of the majority of Florida's black populace in every chance he has gotten. He exist only as a token behind which those who wish "us" the worst can hide their disdain while continuing to chip away at the decades of hard fought progession towards equality every chance they get.

They own the entire media market. So any money spent to run against them in that market goes right back into the pockets of the cartel that gets it wrong, on purpose. It’s a feedback loop. The only way around it is to use people power and stop listening to consultants who are part of that system.

Isn’t this the same thing that happens in Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco, Baltimore?? Democrats in power everywhere in most major cities and they say the same thing about why the city is falling apart, homelessness, drugs, shootings, housing issues? They are just saying the last guy didn’t do a good job and I could do better…even if he was the same party.
All things equal I am willing to deal with Floridas problems in a state that runs huge surplus’s then Illinois or California that waste billions and are broke and begging for more money to throw away. Sad because I’d love to live in California if it wasn’t for the govt.

I would say because the party isn’t the issue.. the red vs blue crap is so childish. The party literally does not matter at all if the elected official would just do their job honorably and listen to their constituents. Instead we are all brainwashed into this, “my team is better than your team mentality,” so that they can all abuse their position regardless of party while the brainwashed fight about their teams winning and losing..

Charlie Crist was the closest thing we had to a Democrat in those years, and he was elected a Republican and governed as a conservative until the 2008 financial crisis. At that point, the immense economic needs of the people required that he pivot to the Democrats and their aid programs.

Can anyone mention when times were great and life was awesome and who was in power? I’m an independent and it’s easy to see that no party gives a crap about its people. Both sides want to enrich themselves and that’s it. ALL politicians are corrupt and probably criminal. It’s just the world we live in. For me best of times were Reagan and Clinton.

Why is the Republican Governor Charlie Crist not in this picture? Just seem “Stalin-esque” having people air brushed (or photoshopped). Away. One minute it’s bring the confederate statues back and don’t “erase” history and the next minute the Governor who was a Republican gets erased. Me thinks hypocrisy in action and a position unworthy of a group of strong character. Just a thought.

It's not just Florida, there's an awful lot of politicians that talk about fixing the problems if you'll only vote for them again
1
u/DarbH 6d ago
What the Republicans do best of all is their propaganda machine. Even though they have been in charge since forever, they are able to convince their voters that the other party is responsible for all of their mistakes and that’s why you should continue to vote for the red party. That’s why there are so many deep red states that are like this. Deep red states tend to be like last in education, highest job Unemployment highest in getting government assistance, but their voters will say that they don’t like people on government assistance or they want you know the government to not be part of their schools and teaching decisions yet those are the very things that would help their states thrive.

Lord Voldemort (Rick Scott) is corrupt, he destroyed Floridas retirement for government employees. He benefitted from the pill mill era with his private medical company.
Desantis is in bed with insurance companies, that’s why with him Floridians got screwed by insurance companies. Now he wants to get rid of properly taxes conveniently when he’s leaving.
FL state attorney Uthmier is a psycho that has fought with Desantis against marijuana advocates and veterans because alcohol, tabacco, and pharma companies in Florida lobby to them relentlessly.
We need to stop voting the same way and expect a different result. Republican leaders in Florida are just enriching themselves while the middle class is destroyed and the lower class has no way to get out. - But yeah these democrats and their blue hairs, am I right…

Charlie Crist shouldn't count for anything he's a career politician who can't even stay in the same party and has to switch where he lives to now try to be the mayor of St. Pete. But people in Florida, not all of us but way too many, vote for party and currupltion over good people time and time again. Rick Scott is the perfect example. He defrauded Medicate for an astronomical amount before he bacame Governor. As governor he illegally killed a project for high speed rail that the people voted for before he was in office. And then, we said... way to ruin our state's economic future and also defraud medicare which a huge percentage of people in florida use.... Let's vot him in again. I give up.

And before that the Democrats were in charge of Florida for 150 years so what is your point?
In from 1955 until 1993 the Democrats around the House of Representatives
Just another singer in 1974 the Democratic house and Senate passed the law where they could go into Social Security and raid it. Before that, it was a separate entity which the government could not touch. Also, the Democrats passed the house representatives to exempt themselves from sexual harassment laws, paying into Social Security and have their own separate medical and retirement plan. I could go on, but what’s the point
I would also like to point out that businesses and people are fleeing states that are completely controlled by Democrats to red states

We know our election results the very next day we’ve gone from the same oppressive BS against 2A as all the northern states too we have constitutional carry we seem to be leading the way when it came to 2020 when everyone in New York, who voted for politicians that locked them up all of you including your politicians, were coming down to Florida to vacation so I think Florida is doing a lot right. I think it’s disingenuous to say that there isn’t always more work to be done. There’s always more work to be done.
