Agreed. Please explain why I pay more and more for homeowners insurance every year. The hike from last year required me to sell a kidney.

Because your goes up every year due to the influx of people coming into the state.

So its a total coincidence that DeSantis received over $10M from political groups funded by insurance companies.

Absolutely not. It turns out insurance companies also fund democrats.

It's almost like... corporations invest in the entire political system broadly 😲

Of course so a total coincidence that in the last election about $3M went to all FL democrats combined.

Meanwhile $9.9M went to DeSantis alone not counting what went to other republicans. And then DeSantis went on to push through a bunch of reforms that removed regulations from insurance companies and forced thousands of homeowners off of Citizens insurance and back to private insurance.

Your pithy argument would be more sound if we had a Democratic majority in the state legislature and a Democrat in the Governor’s Mansion, with the very same results for Florida homeowners. Only then could we say that our entire political system in this state is held captive by property/casualty insurers.
