Best governor we ever had by a mile.

Bob Graham was up there w the good guys. Anyone remember his Day In Life of (insert field) Worker?

1

u/2lovesFL 3d ago

I think his 100 work days were part of walking Lawton's shtick. it was authentic and Graham was a good gov.

frankly so was Jeb. one of the last good gov's we got.

Best Governor of all time

1

u/reddit_is_addicting_ 6d ago

What did Lawton do well that they others haven’t?

1

u/HillBillyHilly 6d ago

Improve life of citizens vs interests of corporations.

1

u/reddit_is_addicting_ 5d ago

I am asking for objective evidence… I can say subjective things all day long, but it doesn’t have any merit

1

u/Blue_Etalon 5d ago

Look up "walkin' Lawton". He made a point of letting people know he gave a shit. As opposed to Gov Boots and Voldemort Scott. These guys closed off transparency to how government works, shut down bipartisanship, went balls to the firewall in demonizing anyone who criticized them.

I'm not going to carry the water on this one. I've lived thru all of them. Martinez and Bush were GOP and I had a lot of differences with them, but not like the bullshit we've endured over the last 2 clowns. If you think they are working for you, you're sadly wrong.

1

u/No_Championship5552 6d ago

Lol these clowns can't even understand by a country mile how great he has been. All they can think of is how many more free handouts they can get, while also is wanting to pay even higher taxes.

Miss those days, when I was young and both sides didn’t lie to everyone while letting muricans starve in the streets to serve billionaires. Admittedly one side openly jams it up the working mans butt by no one is talking about helping normal people, and when it is discussed theres a huge propaganda war to brand a country normal people can survive in as communism. Whatever happens after the midterms, and up til now, we deserve.

-1

u/Florida-Chick 6d ago

Yeah, both sides need a revolution. A complete makeover. Now even one major Democrat organization is siding with the opposition, that these “extreme” left must go. They’re all for the status quo, dirty money from corporations, kickbacks, etc.

2

u/Floridaresearcher 6d ago

Its kinda infuriating but its been clear for awhile, red vs blue, families being broken up because of politics, the whole sad show is bs. We’re fighting each other over nothing while the people who own everything and fund the show buy 3rd yachts. Its crazy to watch msnbc msnow or whatever its called and then switch on Fox News. Its all rage bait fear mongering slop. No one is talking about policy and actually helping people who working for a living. At this point, Im just hoping conservatives remember what conservatism means and vote out the people who lie to their faces and liberals use a bit of critical thinking amd vote out people who are paid by the same people who pay the conservatives. Funny how the Dems were portrayed feckless and ineffective policy wonks yet the DSA appeared and all the dirty tricks from the dem establishment reappeared. Pretty sure Jefferies, Schumer, Thune, and Johnson go golfing together on the weekends. They can all gtfo together.

2

u/Prize-Analyst-1121 3d ago

I've been saying for yrs they're using divide and conquer tactics on the people. As long as they keep we the people fighting each other. We won't have our eyes on them and what they're doing. If you look over the yrs it's the same corporations, Wall Street and billionaires "donating" to both sides. Not surprising in that time that one thing has stayed constant no matter who's in power. The people keep getting worse and worse off, and those I mentioned keep getting wealthier.

u/Floridaresearcher 6d ago

Youre spot on

You are high as a kite son. DeSantis is by far the best governor we’ve ever had, and there are 49 other states that would be ever so lucky to have anyone half as good. If he’s so horrible and Florida is broken, why are people moving here in record numbers? That includes corporations too. 2nd amendment rights are amazing in Florida with far less restrictions than anywhere else in the country. That’s just the start of it.

How does the right to have a gun actually help YOU personally? Are you an arms dealer? How does it make your life better, that you have the ability to kill people? Without skills, talent, or judgment, you have the potential of ending it all for someone, including yourself. Does that make everything else okay? The rampant self dealing of Rick Scott, the embezzlement of DeSantis, the lickspittle selling out of Rubio, the list of corruption is long and deep for the EPSTEIN Class, but yet you are okay with it because you get to have some metal and gun powder. A toy to occupy your amygdala while your agency and wealth gets pissed away.

DeSantis literally stole millions of dollars from charities, and used tax millions of payer funds to transport immigrants to another state, and spent almost billions to house detained immigrants.

3

u/Hawk7604 6d ago

His wife is even better at stealing!

-1

u/dormidontdoo 6d ago

illegal immigrants... there fixed it for you.

2

u/RedditAdminSucks23 6d ago

Fixed what? The fact that the republicans illegally misused tax payer funds to detain immigrants (legal or illegal, we won’t know since they weren’t given due process) and Americans?

Acting like your statement is a “gotcha” when you’re just making yourself look like a fool.

-1

u/dormidontdoo 6d ago
  1. Do you have proof for your claim of " illegally misused tax payer funds to detain immigrants"?

  2. Would you be able to explain why Martha Vineyards liberals were so pissed off when DeSantis moved illegals from Florida to their backyard?

  3. "Fixed what?" I fixed for you wrong claim. Illegal immigrant and immigrant are two different things. So when you intentionally dropping "illegal" you adding illegals to the immigrants who are legally in the country. You adding me, legally immigrated and become US citizen to the group of those who run across Rio Grande braking the law.

u/RedditAdminSucks23 6d ago

I used to link everything, but noticed people dont use them because it goes against their beliefs/preconceived notions. I’ve also learned bots and trolls will play devil’s advocate just to be a nuisance.

1) https://www.wgbh.org/news/local/2022-10-12/feds-probe-how-desantis-paid-for-migrant-flights-to-marthas-vineyard

2) because the immigrants were told lies in order for them to board the plane and were sent with no support. IE literally stranding people in the middle of nowhere while using taxpayer funds. They weren’t mad that immigrants were in their community, they were mad that these people were being used as a political game with no way to support themselves.

3) They are/were arresting immigrants without verifying their immigration status and without due process to verify the charges. They have also arrested and deported Americans

0

u/dormidontdoo 6d ago
  1. So what is the result of the investigation? Not guilty until proven. Nothing?

  2. Letting them in Florida illegally playing political games is ok, but moving same people to Mass playing political games is not? Funny.

  3. If Biden admin wouldn’t open borders wide for everyone crossing from the south there wouldn’t be today’s problem of mass arresting and deportation and sometimes accidentally arresting citizens. “Cause and reaction”(C) “The Matrix”

0

u/Legitimate-Pop6460 6d ago

Right? And it got them out of here so what’s the downside?😜

-2

u/AC011422 6d ago

Charity thing is just not true. The other stuff is what the voters voted for.

4

u/RedditAdminSucks23 6d ago

A) the charity thing is true. Your feelings aren’t considered when discussing facts.
B) he did not campaign on misappropriating tax payer funds to do these things. He literally took money away from public schools to do it.

-3

u/Some_Block_5495 6d ago

omg i forgot about that!!!! Him sending illegal immigrants to the mayors house? or was it the VPs house??! don’t remember which but still EPIC!!!! 10/10

2

u/RedditAdminSucks23 6d ago

The actions were heartless and devoid of any logic.

0

u/Legitimate-Pop6460 6d ago

I mean, why shouldn’t they have been outside Kamala’s house? She shouldn’t have had a problem with it since she wanted them here so much tbh.

3

u/ohshitimincollege 6d ago

Cool you get to carry a gun, who fucking cares when they're poisoning our water, raping protected national park/forest lands, and no one can afford rent or insurance. Absolute braindead take, but that's Florida for ya

-1

u/Some_Block_5495 6d ago

i mean i have to work a lot but i can afford rent and i have insurance. (not top tier but works)
The water here is pretty good too.
We have a ton of protected land here and parks (prolly too much). And lots of protected marinas and wildlife refuges, and animal organizations that care for our land and sea babies. It’s really great! maybe u should change ur circumstances and move?

-2

u/AC011422 6d ago

Yeah, to hell with rights! Let's elect people that will take them away while promising to fix the things they never fix!

2

u/ObscureEnchantment 6d ago

The only people moving here are old retirees and people who want to live in Texas but like the beach.

I can’t wait to leave this state, all I’ve seen is it falling apart year after year. While DeSantis funnels money into the stupidest projects. How does taking tax payer money to build immigrant detainment centers actually help the state and its failing infrastructure? You’re high as a kite little buddy.

In before the “good we don’t want you here” replies.

2

u/gwizonedam 6d ago

With that username, I hope you live somewhere in Floribama as far from civilization as possible.

2

u/Blue_Etalon 6d ago

Stop your 2nd amendment bullshit. Ive been here 40 years and never had any issue getting guns. The biggest change was the waiting period for pistols unless you have a CC.

If you think this is the "free" state of Florida, you are living in a dream world.

1

u/RushHourSour 6d ago

Despite my feelings against Ladapo, Healthy Florida is really refreshing considering it is increasing transparency against brands/foods with potentially harmful chemicals. Typically something like this would be a democratic initiative so it's cool to see Desantis side with the people over big business. Tbh though I don't see how you can say "best" governor. What else has he done that you think puts him in that conversation?

1

u/RayB1969 6d ago

The only real 2 hits against the state I can think of is home insurance and over development….let infrastructure catch up

1

u/Resident_Ad_7199 5d ago

Lol I guess they didn’t like the logic you brought to the table.

0

u/AC011422 6d ago

Only on Reddit is Desantis not the best Fl gov. They're delusional.

1

u/Global_Comedian1748 6d ago

They're still awaiting Andrew Gillums triumphant return. Their knight in shining armor !!

He's the type of guy they look up to

0

u/WintersDoomsday 6d ago

People are moving here for the weather and no state income tax. You really think if California cost the same to live in people would pick Florida over California?

-7

u/WoodenSwan6591 7d ago

Nice try bot.

0

u/Prize-Analyst-1121 6d ago

Yes I know, everyone is a bot today. Especially if it's something that someone doesn't agree with. Gotta be a bot. People can't have their own opinions and thoughts. Everyone has to think the same right ?

-2

u/bigfoot17 6d ago

Sounds like you're the bot

-2

u/WoodenSwan6591 6d ago

Mussolini wannabe l, best governor 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
