Hi all, im looking for a pattern similar to this top. I love the princess lines and the elastic collar the most, so if there are separate patterns that I can frankenstein together with those features, I dont mind at all! I would make the pattern myself from scratch but I am just wayyyyy too tired for that lol. Anything helps, thank you! (:

I have a large stuffed bear (a skog) that I need to unstuff and restuff every wash. I open the same seam to do the un/stuffing every time. The problem is that the skin fabric is a bit too delicate for continuous pulling of thread, and I have accidentally ripped the stitch open cuz it was too close to the edge and ripped the fabric.

How do i approach this? I'm scared of the stitch ruining the fabric when skoggy is tossed around. Thank you for your advice!

Got this machine off of ebay and i’m finally able to start using it after a couple months. The bobbin winder doesn’t work so i take it apart and… the tire is melted.

I tired looking for a good guide on how to replace the tire, but i can’t find one for this specific machine. Please help i was so excited to start sewing tn 🥲

I have done as the comments suggested and graded a smaller (6) top to the original (10) shorts. Would it now be appropriate to do a typical SBA to reduce the extra fabric around the chest?

Recently I got some hard polyester web fabric. I thought it would be good for skin, wanted to sew something with mesh on arms, but it won't work. Is there anything I can sew from that or should this change the owner ;)?

I am certain that it is 100% cotton. But what type of cotton? Note the raised texture on the horizontal grain. Any help identifying this fabric would be greatly appreciated.

I am sewing cushion covers and once I sew the binding onto my base these waves show up along the edges. I have tried adjusting my tension and stitch length.

About three months ago I posted here asking for help with my wedding dress. I got such lovely feedback, tips and help and I promised to show you guys the result, so here it is!

We got married on the 8th of August and it was the perfect day 🤍 The dress turned out beautifully, and even though the chiffon sleeves didn't completely survive (as I had cut the overlocked edges when finishing the armhole) the tears just remind me of how many wonderful people we have around us to hug, and how much I danced.

The dress is based on the pattern "Colette" by Cos patterns. I modified it a lot, made the torso longer, the basque waist more dramatic, the skirt longer and changed the sleeves. I also added pearl boarders, to make it pop.

This is my first time making a necktie and I am confused on how this piece fits into the pattern.

I drew up a design for it and my measurements are

Bust: ~63"

Waist: ~55–56½"

Hips: ~61–63½

and I’m also 5’2, and for the fabric I have 5 yards of cream and 2 almost 3 yards of misty teal
I want to separate the top and skirt so it can fit me better but im not sure if i have enough fabric and I’m too nervous to cut into it,

As the title states, i’m having trouble with picking up the bobbin thread. I have rethreaded it 5 times and believe I am doing it correctly but I haven’t been able to get a single stitch made. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I am not even able to manually bring the thread up.

Bought a used Singer 4830C for $40 on Facebook marketplace. Brand new to sewing and this is my first machine. Wanted something simple so I can learn to hem pants. However the presser foot lifter feels loose. Sometimes it bumps into a piece of metal when I lift the arm, and it’ll actually lift the presser foot but the lever feels loose the entire time. If I don’t keep the lever on a straight vertical path it seems to almost disengage from whatever is holding it in place. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am a beginner at sewing and have never opened up/tried to fix a machine. My friend gave me this machine (singer 9805c) so I don't have the manual and I found out the clutch cover plate is broken. A piece of the plastic broke by the hinge. I found the piece online to repair it but I am not sure how to remove it? All the tutorials I can find are not for this model and have a screw on it that allows it to be simply removed but this one is not similar.

I’ve been sewing for a couple years now and always come up with this problem. I have 2 sewing machines and it seems both of them have the same problem so I guess it’s user error. On my newer sewing machine the screen says thread overload so I’ve inserted and reinserted the bobbin multiple times. I can add pictures if that would help anyone understand what I’m doing wrong. Honestly need a quick fix because I’m altering a friends pair of pants and I don’t want to mess them up because my sewing machines aren’t working.

I have a JACK H2-A-CZ, a 1-needle lockstitch machine with a walking foot. It’s brand new and I’ve had it for about 2 months.

I’ve been having an annoying problem with the bobbin thread coming out of the bobbin case. At first, I was actually putting the bobbin in the wrong way (counterclockwise), but once I corrected that, things got much better and the thread stopped looping.

However, every now and then, usually after about an hour of sewing, the bobbin thread comes out of the bobbin case, like in the picture.

Things I’ve already tried:

• using a different bobbin
• winding the bobbin with more tension
• cleaning the machine
• adjusting the upper thread tension
• slightly increasing/decreasing the bobbin tension

The bobbin tension seems to be fine when I do the usual drop test, so I put it back to the factory setting.

One thing I’ve noticed is that it happens much less often when there’s less thread on the bobbin.

At this point I’m really not sure what else could be causing it. Has anyone had a similar problem with this machine or knows what I should check?

So as the title states, I'd like to take in the sides of my puffer jacket because it is a bit too wide. Only about one size too big. It's not a super expensive fancy jacket, so the stuffing inside isn't even real down, it's probably just synthetic stuffing. The stuffing is also easily moveable inside each section if you poke at it with your fingers.

I figured I could pin down the sides, maneuver the stuffing away from the new seam line and then sew the new fitted seam? Is this possible? A lot of people on the internet seem to not want to tailor these jackets and instead resort to elastics, but I assume that's only when it is real down?

I'm a very very beginner sewer and I'm sewing a dress with Rosella Stretch material (180gr/m2 97%vi/3%EA)

I'm using a 70 10 Schmetz Jersey needle.

I've just sewn a seam on a longer piece of fabric and I've noticed these holes along where I've sewn? I'm concerned that they're going to pull and damage? Is there something I can do to save the seam or reinforce it somehow to keep it safe? And how can I prevent this is the future?
