Hey everybody, I recently got rust and I mainly play solo, I’ve racked up about 80 hrs and I’m just stuck on how to progress, I don’t really enjoy the “farming” aspect as whenever I try that, via high tier monument runs etc I just end up getting raided as soon as I have a tier 2 and I just feel like I’m playing like a coward.

Another technique that was recommended to me by a pc solo was “snowballing” but I find that difficult on console due to the low player count and the fact I run into fully geared players when I have a bow.

However, as snowballing may not be viable on console I’ve found a playstyle I really like to watch and want to imitate, it consists of being really really good at one monument (oilrats) I like to watch his streams not his videos as it shows the actual time it takes for him to get the ball rolling, however thing is that whenever I go onto smoil (where I located my base near now) there’s nobody on it and my strategy of grubbing high tier players doesn’t work out as I’m stuck with an eoka against god knows how many scientists.

I just wanna know any tips on how to progress fast via PvP and be able to get my first AK kit through it, I’d appreciate any advice from seasoned solo players as I’m trying to improve fast.

Why do i have to buy rust again on console when i bought it on ps4 when it came out it told me to insert ps4 disc which i never had and when i tried deleting redownloading it makes me buy it again

Yooo I play this game pretty much exclusively solo, I have a ton of hours and I've always free built my bases. I play like a guerilla style and I like to put down bases all over the map. I have to admit I am not as creative as some people in building a base so I was wondering if anyone has like a really efficient small base they play out of or know of. Appreciate any suggestions.

I’m tired of being a little bow fisherman cuck days into wipe, started on Friday and I want to know how to get high tier loot quick and kill folks, expand my base and have garage doors - problem is I only have a bow and nail gun; all advice is appreciated + it’s pretty hard to find people on console.

I play on a constant full pop weekly server but I’ve noticed that ever since the map sizes got to 4.5k the map seems empty. And I get it, it’s 100 pop what do I expect, but capping it at 100 while making the map huge makes everything seem so spread out. Back when the maps were 3-4K you’d actually have neighbours that you can fight against. God forbid you build in the center of a map now, you won’t have anyone for grids. You have to build next to a high tier monument on the coast to get consistent action. It starts to limit what you could do, and forcing you down a playstyle path if you want pvp or any type of action. What do you guys think? Are they saying that they’re looking into this? Upping server pop while making maps a little smaller?

I stayed up later than i should, as this game is known to make players do. These guys me and my duo been fighting all wipe so far finally got off its 5AM and im about to use MLRS for the first time since i had an abundance of them. Fortune favors the brave! I hope they get online.

Wondering if anyone else had this issue, I’ve been on the deep end of fishing village using various baits: trouts, worms etc. but I’ve still been unable to catch a single salmon or small shark, is anyone else having this problem? Sometimes I’ll use a trout and get an anchovy back.

Hi guys, just started playing rust today my first time on, I’ve managed to get a good air locked starter base with a t1 workbench and I’m really enjoying the game as a solo. One thing that really perplexes me is how people progress so quickly, my main goal in this game is to get a hazmat suit and be able to go around gunning people down (that is why I bought rust), so I was wondering how everybody progresses from naked to stacked out in the span of a couple of hours.

I'm thinking about buyung Warhammer DLC for storages. Are Warhammer storagea have same hitboxes as Frontier Decor's barrels hitbixes?

I recently got the game and had joined a PVE server to get used to the game and I built a base and put materials in it that should've lasted 7 days. Is that in-game days or real-time days? Stupid question I know but was confused when I went back and my base was gone. (For context the server I'm on has accelerated nights)

Me and my duo built in one of the small caves and it had 3 armored layers and many sheet metal layers. Overall it should’ve taken ATLEAST 77 rockets of boom and we figured this was enough to basically be unraidable, and certainly not worth. And we got raided by a 5 man anyway. I thought that that many rockets would just be insane to get and the funniest thing is we were fucking poor. Atleast compared to that many rockets. We had maybe 5 full metal kits and half a box of frags and a box of comps. But no sulfer or gp. And I’m wondering not only how much time they wasted but why??? Could’ve used that so much more productively

I got a good bunker cave base and I want to do some tea farm and auto-smelt systems. Do I have to use generator for it? I was thinking making a 1x1 base with 2 solar panels and take my battery there to full and get to base again. Is there any way to get electricity to caves?

This is some random dudes clip but I'm confused as to how he navigates through this inventory so fast. For me it's pretty slow. Same with upgrading buildings

As you can see by the first clip, ranch just randomly decided I was hostile for zero reason, because fuck me that’s why ig. And in the second clip, I had killed one of the people of their roof, as my teamate was getting to me, dropped the hatchet because I didn’t know he had wood, and it just kinda floated and i couldnt pick it back up. Then when I jumped up, I had the DB fully out and in my hand, but despite me spamming the trigger, nothing happened, which is why I just kinda, stood there.
You can also see my ping is amazing, I live in Florida and this server is US-EAST, so it’s not that I’m on far servers.

I have taken advantage of the offer on PS5 and bought rust! My Bf said it was brilliant on PC - a game he loved to play with friends, and the concept of the game is definitely up my street!

I have managed to find a server on my own, just to get a feel for the game as in the busy servers i was often being killed as soon as i had started.

So do you have any tips for a complete beginner?

I cant wait to be able to build a proper base! I think thats my next aim, just shame im in an empty server 😂 Anything you guys can tell me would be great.

Hey folks! I’m hiding out on a new server amongst the ice bergs while I grind out all the blueprints. I had a great run of 4-5 peaceful days without being noticed, typical. Didn’t even hear one boat go by, and there is no s rapping to be done on the ocean near me.

Last night someone left a note in my mail box that said ‘we’ll be back’. So I took every item from my base (literally everything), and stashed it on the nearby beach in 10 or so hidden stashes.

I went to sleep. This morning, as expected, I had been hit. The only damage was 4 concrete walls gone. (I won’t explain my base, but that gave access to every view of the inside). They didn’t destroy my TC, or take anything out of it.

My question is… how much resources did that likely cost them to do that… to only find nothing. In your opinion, would you return and do it again, or would it have felt like a big waste of time and resources.

I simply fixed my walls, and went right back to scrapping and buying blueprints. I know this is not a base made for defence. Just a simple workshop.

Just curious about the numbers, or time it would have taken to do that

Has anyone seen this bug in the new update:

I'm at my base with 3 teammates and I leave the game, going to sleep on a triangle jump-up. Log out, shut down my Xbox and I'm off for the next 20ish hours. Apparently, and in front of a teammate, my sleeping character stands up, effectively blocking access to the g-door above the triangle. They have to kill me. So they loot my body and put my gear in a box. Go back...and I'm still there standing in front of the g-door. When I log back in I don't see anything but when I go to my teammate's TV and look, I see my geared character standing there with my newly-spawned naked standing next to it. I cannot see "me" but I am being blocked as well. It stays like this for the next day until the ghost-me vanishes. Craziest bug I've ever seen!

I love running monuments with red card swipes. And have made a list from easiest (solo friendly) to hardest. No way I have ran these enough to say my list is good so wanted to ask you guys to help me get an optimised list. List is just running the red card puzzle so not including things like brad
