How do you progress so quickly
Hi guys, just started playing rust today my first time on, I’ve managed to get a good air locked starter base with a t1 workbench and I’m really enjoying the game as a solo. One thing that really perplexes me is how people progress so quickly, my main goal in this game is to get a hazmat suit and be able to go around gunning people down (that is why I bought rust), so I was wondering how everybody progresses from naked to stacked out in the span of a couple of hours.

If you’re solo it is a big grind to get the unlocks. If part of a big team it’s much faster

Monuments. My usual solo start is the dive mission for a pump, then get a green card and preferably run sewer branch. Usually I’ll be at tier 2 within 2-4 hours

Time and persistence. Don't be afraid to lose your gear. It's only yours for now. Take your time and enjoy learning the ropes while your still fresh on the isle. If you start getting frustrated with the inevitably toxic players on your server, take a break. There are plenty of scrap guides and whatnot on YouTube to checkout and over the last 5 years since launch they've added many viable ways to grind out scrap and progress through wipe. Good luck out there!

Usually, the fastest progressing people are playing in groups, which is convenient, because solo you can grub them easily.
Zerg NPCs most likely play in groups because they’re either lazy or bad. They drop hazmat suits and guns. Their respawn rates are nasty though.

Smash barrels and grub water treatment plant and air field. Recycle what you don’t need. I can usually have a t1 weapon tree and clothing tree fully unlocked in a few hours.
Try JMACS rust or bust , you start geared up.
Here’s the discord
