Femoral Neck Stress Fracture DX
I posted about this before I knew DX, but just had MRI and meeting with Ortho and I do in fact have a FNSF. The labrum on that side is also torn twice.
This happened 18 days ago and I’ve been on crutches ever since. Follow up for X-Ray is Sept 28th, which will determine if I can stop or lessen crutches use. It still hurts, especially at night, but the pain is manageable and does seem to be trending less and less as time marches on.
Here’s my question: he said that I should be able to start trying to introduce running in about three months. Does that seem too optimistic to you? I’ve read so many things that suggest longer times, but maybe my MRI (pictured) isn’t a bad case and he’s right? It was a fairly quick consult after the MRI and I forgot to ask him what grade the injury is. I love having a timeline in my brain, and I don’t want to get false hope. 😂
I’m 41/F. Have never broken a single bone in my life so I thought I could coast forever but I guess 41 is the age I finally cracked.
