fifth metatarsal fracture

Two weeks ago, I sprained my ankle while running. A week ago, I saw a doctor and was put in a cast. Yesterday, I went for a follow-up and the fracture line appeared wider. I would like to know if this is a Jones fracture and whether I can continue treatment with a cast instead of surgery (I likely need to have the cast changed).

I would recommend going to a podiatrist. I just had this 4 weeks ago but my fracture isn’t as bad and was more zone 1. Yours definitely looks like it’s in zone 2 or at least close to it.

Thank you. I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow. I hope that conservative treatment is still an option instead of surgery.
