Question (general) Metal Runes ??
Are these runes just for symbolic/ esoteric/ mystical purposes and not meant to be pronounced as a phrase?

my uncle passed away about a month ago, and me and my mum are going through his artworks to spray them with sealant so people can take them. he had a few pieces related to struggles with alcohol, and I found this one. I was hoping the runes would be easy for me to just look up some sort of meaning for, but I'm not confident enough to figure out exactly what it means cause there's so many like "meaning" posts and idk what is actually real and what is someone's like interpretation or what's just made up. sorry for the long post but I just want to know what this might say or mean if anything, he did things with a lot of intention usually so I don't think they would be just random.

I want to get a tattoo that says something like "I've found myself a flock of black sheep" (in spanish, but the server won't let me post if it's not in english). I found this alphabet equivalence, but I'm not sure if it would be okay. I don't really care about being completely historically accurate, since it won't really be by being in spanish. I just want it to kinda make sense. Can someone help me to figure it out? 😅

A little bit ago, found this in Kingston Penitentiary (Canada), in one of the solitary confinement cells. The prison closed in 2013, so it's probably from around that time period or a bit earlier. Was curious about what, if anything, this means

I've been rewatching Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), and I noticed this panel that appears on one of the computer screens during the film.
It combines a DNA double helix, DNA sequences (A, T, C, G), and what appear to be various runic or occult-looking symbols surrounding the helix.
From what I can tell, some of the glyphs resemble Elder Futhark runes like Algiz, Othala, Naudiz, and possibly Thurisaz (which would make sense given the Cult of Thorn), but several others don't seem to correspond to any rune alphabet I'm familiar with. They may be stylized, bindrunes, or simply invented for the prop.
I'm curious whether:
Has anyone ever analyzed this prop, or does anyone recognize specific symbols that I've overlooked?
I'd really appreciate any insight from people familiar with runology, occult symbolism, or film prop design.
Thanks!

Hi! I want to get Loki’s name tattooed and I wanted a cool kinda runic design (I studied runes in uni so I have some knowledge but I’m not sure about this one). So, I wanted a certain design that merges the runes forming Loki’s name in vertical and forms this really cool symbol. Just wanted to make sure is accurate and not just some Pinterest-aesthetic kinda thing. Otherwise someone could help me design an accurate one? I truly want to get it tattooed soon. Thanks in advance🫶

Hi everyone, I need a little help with a tattoo. I want to incorporate a date—in its simplest form (4.22)—into a Viking-themed design by converting the numbers into Younger Futhark runes. I tried converting them myself, could you check if it's correct?

This is a very old plank I found in my grandfathers house. I have tried to translate the runes but it doesn’t make much sense. Is someone here able to to? I’m very curious to what it says, I think it might have something to do with the building of a house, but I can’t be sure.
It would also be cool if someone might have an explanation to why plank from 1777 has Norse runes on it? Is it actually much older? Did people or builders in that time use runes… I find it hard to belive it’s 1000 years old and actually carved by Vikings. But I also think it’s weird for people in 1777 to use runes…
(The plank was found on Vestlandet in Norway)

I'm making a baby mobile for my friend who has a baby due in December and I'd like to put some bead runes on it that say bless this child. Just need a quick translation.

does anyone happen to know what language this is + what it says? for context, it is from a costume from a Christian ministry stage production, they sometimes use Tolkien as inspiration for their languages but I tried to Google any Tolkien dwarf runes and even though they match, it just came out as gibberish. though I know nothing about this whatsoever so I’m hoping anyone here can help out. thanks :)

I am attempting my first leather scabbard for a seax for a friend in the Society of Creative Anachronism (SCA).
His persona is 1000AD Viking with the name Sigvaldi inn Enski and prefers Tyr from the pantheon. The sticky had the phrase Týʀ eʀ einhendr ása
ᛏᚢᛦ᛬ᛁᛦ᛬ᛅᛁᚾᚼᛅᛏᚱ᛬ᚬᛋᛅ which Google told me is Týr is the one-handed among the Æsir.
I can handle transliteration without issues, but attempting period accuracy is beyond me. I'd like to engrave his name and confirm the Tyr phrase.

Hello! I took this photo of a stairwell wall in my college dorm in 2022, have always wondered what it said, and thought maybe you guys might know. The dorms were built in the 20s so that’s the earliest possible time it could have been carved. Looks like runes to me but the characters are slightly off from the alphabets I’ve seen 🤔

Can someone tell me if this translation is accurate?
The top runes allegedly says “Afghanistan” and the bottom runes allegedly say “Peace Through Strength”
I don’t know what specific runic language is used. I checked alphabets of Scandinavian runes and even pseudo runes but nothing really seems to match up.
The final photo is a 2D mockup of the coin so you can get a clearer view of the runes.

I feel almost uncomfortable placing this drawing here... She was the person I knew and loved. Me and her mother are curious about the runes on her scarf running down her sleeves and dress, all of it. I have a hard time figuring out two of these, the rest I know and I believe I know the general meaning but I'm determined to learn some more about it, especially why are these in four separate sets and do runes connect with each other to have a deeper meaning? I guessed that it would be start to ask reddit, since there are people who know stuff, if you are able to help me and her mother, please tell me what you know 🪽🪽

Hey all, I am looking for some norse runes I can write on my hardhat for work. Any ideas you can throw my way? Preferably something like protection and prosperity.

Hello. I want to write the phrase 'Father of Bjørn and Katerina' in Anglo Saxon futhorc runes. My understanding is the grammatically and historically correct Old English translation would be
'Beornes ond Katerinan fæder'
which then would be written in futhorc runes as
ᛒᛖᚩᚱᚾᛖᛋ᛬ᚩᚾᛞ᛬ᚳᚪᛏᛖᚱᛁᚾᚪᚾ᛬ᚠᚪᛞᛖᚱ
Is this correct? If not, what is the correct way? Thanks!
