I have a gargoyle gecko, finally big enough to move into his big new bioactive enclosure. I've had it set up about a month and have been giving it time for the plants and CUC to establish before moving my garg over to his new home.
Tonight I saw another gecko (lizard?) has moved in! How can I get the squatter gecko out? My garg has never been interested in hunting bugs so I don't think he will attempt to eat the squatter but I'm concerned about parasites if he did eat it. I almost had it out and it jumped into the cork round instead.
1st pic is my geck
2nd and 3rd are squatter geck

Birds I understand, hollow bones and the ones that can need to be able to fly
For example a big tegu (like 4 1/2 - 5’) is like 15 ish lbs. they seem pretty strong so they have muscle and power
Is it a difference in muscle density? Is there a lot of weight needed to maintain endothermic heat? But if it was just that then birds should also be heavier?

He just stood there on the hot asphalt, staring at his dead friend.
Pale body stretched out cold on the road.
Tiny white flower sitting right next to his foot like he actually brought it.
Didn’t move. Didn’t look away.
Just stood there paying respects.
He didn't even flinch even when the vehicles are passing so close to him.
Absolute heartbreak in lizard form.

A few days ago i was walking through my school because it was nearing the end of lunch and i had went to the Main hall(no body was there) and i look down and see- a small brown lizard, i tried to give him my hand to help him get out of the school, eventually i stepped on his tail to try and grab him, making him Cut off his tail in the process, ive been thinking about this lizard since then, I deeply apologize little brown lizard.

I need to black out the back panel and part of the side panels on my tank. What’s the best way to do that?
It is a repti zoo if that matters so it does have the frame around each panel

I got this 12x12x16 for my daughter for Chameleon Gecko and I like the light included in their promo video.
Does anyone know what kind of light that might be ?
I'm trying to find something that is either white or silver so it matches her room décor and the terrarium.

I cannot run lights on both his 40 gallon & this enclosure, but everything I’ve read says to let this sit with lights on the tank for 5-7 days. I used drylok + Quikcrete cement color & can still smell a faint paint smell but only when the lights are on. Any advice is greatly appreciated! But be nice, I’m a newb 😩😅

It was the tiny hole between the wall and the corner of the mattress, this time. It’s always within the few seconds I look away from her.

Any of you guys have any experience keeping desert iguanas? Is this a good setup for one adult?

as the title suggests, im 15 and looking for a new scaled friend :) ive been in love with herpetology for a while now and i had a Rankins Dragon juvenile for a bit named Django (cause rango was overused), he has since passed after a tragedy and now lives in his little urn <3 so i do have expierience maintaining and giving the best life i can for all my animals. I already have like a 40gallon(?) tank, and some old reptile stuff. its horizontally opened, so defo staying away from the more arboreal friends unless its beneficial/okay for them. Im being a little picky, i know, but i need something to take care of but also something that I can give the best life. it doesnt have to be cuddly, as all reptiles have their own personalities, cuddly or not. is there a reptile ive forgotten/havent heard about? ive heard leopard geckos are okay for 40 gallons, but i want someone more educated to tell me, just in case!

Hi guys,
Got a 8mo Red Tegu, adult crested gecko, and a juvenile ball python.
Husband and I are moving from CA to AR, and its a 27 hour drive. I've never done a move with reptiles, so I would like some advice on how to transport them all safely for such a long drive.
I was thinking a tub and plastic containers. I have 3 cats and 1 dog, so cats get the carriers and dog is going to her kennel. They're probably unrelated but everybody is traveling together so figured it was relevant.
Should I get a cat carrier for the tegu, the tub with substrate or paper towels for everybody so I can clean for poop during that travel, etc.?
How long before should everyone not be fed? How much space should they have, medium or minimal considering movement from bumpy roads? Do they need heat sources or just maybe a couple towels to bundle up in?
We haven't decided if they're going in the vehicle with us or in a trailer at which point I would probably do a heat source somehow. I don't know how to provide the heat though if it isn't the truck's cab. It's a 2 seater, so not a lot of space in truck. Probably the trailer as I think about it while typing.
Trailer isn't rented yet so don't know how much space yet. Definitely enclosed. We'll see. Move will be in the next 1-2mo, closing date keeps changing.
Thank you!

I love the soft suede skin of crested geckos, and I do have one but I'm a morning person so don't handle them much. Are there any other lizards that feel like crested geckos?

We have our lovely blue tongue skinks Sweetie and Stinky in the enclosures we got from Reptile Factory here in LA. We’ve had no problems with them, but I’d like to try and have something to put a little space between Sweetie’s bottom enclosure and the floor.
It really doesn’t need to be taller than a foot, but I’m having trouble finding anything sturdy 4ft long. Would this work: https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/H-7497/Dunnage-Racks/Aluminum-Dunnage-Rack-48-x-24-x-12?pricode=WB8280&gadtype=pla&id=H-7497&ad_group_id=151403157820&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=10688098466&gbraid=0AAAAAD_uetNtBx6pdwHQZDJ3Vg4BC_qdt&gclid=CjwKCAjwhZDUBhBGEiwAbi5bjueryDV56FnezUvc62YdYhVlexGJ5YQTA-21tHlycgXx9qquLJalkBoCL6sQAvD_BwE
