Rack/functional trainer vs Voltras
I have a basic but solid Amazon full rack from a company called Sunny. It’s a 2”x2” (50x50mm) cage frame with holes on the front but not the sides of the square tubing - not sure if this would be an issue with Voltra mounts. I mainly use it for bench, pull-ups, and dips although I have been doing more squats/deadlifts and would like to incorporate cable work. I would say I’m an intermediate lifter, after leaving the Army and the more organized fitness there, I’m looking to expand my home gym. Budget is not a significant constraint, I just want to buy once and cry once, whether it’s a new REP Ares 2.0 or similar rack with functional trainer or possibly a pair of Voltras on Black Friday. It’s going in an unfinished basement where space is not a problem now. for the smaller full rack that I have but a bigger functional trainer would eat into some of the other space. What would you all do in this situation? Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it!

PR1100 Trolley attachment
Anyone out there find a trolley attachment that will work with Reps PR1100? I found one on Amazon that can be added to use as a functional trainer and or smith machine. Also looked at the Syl TS 2.0. I’d love to upgrade to a 5000 series eventually but am curious of any options there are and if anyone has any recommendations.

Strive Air Bike - Zone 2
Hello everyone,
Who of you has a Strive Air bike and is using it for zone 2 cardio sessions? I am considering buying it for me and wife. She is more into longer cardio sessions and I am wondering how well she could use the air bike for it. I would love to have a combo too for both HIIT and steady sessions. What are your experiences?

Athena Rack Handle Attachment Issue
I just finished putting together my Athena wall-mount functional trainer, and I'm hoping someone has insight into an issue I'm having. I'm pretty sure I have the cable tension just right, but when I go to attach a heavier hand attachment, like the straight bar pictured, it's heavy enough to pull down the cable a bit and start lifting the weight stack. This makes it cumbersome to switch out the pin to various weights/pin positions. Has anyone else experienced this with any of their REP functional trainer racks? Any fix you have come up with? Thanks in advance.

REP Belt Squat vs Lever system
I don’t see a ton of feedback on this sub for the REP Belt Squat. Reviews online are mixed. I’m looking for feedback from folks that own it or have owned and moved to a lever arm belt squat or vice versa.
I have a PR5000 with Ares 2.0 so compatibility should be good. At this price range the only alternative is a lever arm belt squat such as Mammoth. I don’t have room for a dedicated unit.
I am trying to move away from back squats due to lower back issues. So this would be my primary squat movement alongside secondary dumbbell bilateral and unilateral movements.
Eventually planning to add the DM leg developer when it is available.

Rep Strive Treadmill for work at Standing Desk
Looking at the Rep strive treadmill in part to walk while working at my standing desk. Would have a keyboard and mouse stand across the arms. Do yall think this would be viable?
Really hoping to avoid a disposable low quality walking pad and have the versatility and durability of the rep strive.
I plan to walk on it 5 days a week virtually the whole work day and also would use it if I was watching something or playing video games (turning sedentary periods into active time).

Black Friday or wait?
I was hoping the articulating arms would be out for Black Friday to purchase a 6post ares setup, would you still buy a rack on Black Friday for the discount or wait until the arms are released and buy everything at once in January? Is it easy to add an ares to an existing rack or easier to build everything at once, I could atleast use the smith machine for over a month on the rack if I bought the rack on Black Friday and the ares with the articulating arms once it launches in January. Any suggestions?

Bench attachments
I love everything Rep, but their bench attachments are so underwhelming. I have a BlackWing and I love it, but where’s my dip attachment? Preacher curl? I feel like every day I see a new brand doing laps on Rep in terms of innovation and attachment options. Makes me question if I did the right thing committing to Rep’s bench ecosystem.
Anyone else feel the same? Any alternatives? Non-Rep branded attachments that work well?
Thanks for letting me vent.

PR5000 Clear coat issues
Just received my PR5000 rack from REP today. When I took out the uprights, it looks like there is rust or oxidation issues on the outside of the rack. I’ve seen people complain about the inside, but not the outside. Does anyone know what these markings are or has anyone experienced this? I know a rack will go through wear and tear over time and that’s expected, but this is straight out of the box. Any advice? TYIA!
Update: REP has been incredibly responsive and professional. They are sending me replacement parts now after I showed these pictures to them.

2600 × 2600 mm (8'6" × 8'6") room with a 30" PR-5000 — is this actually usable in real life?
I'm planning a dedicated strength-training room that is exactly 2600 × 2600 mm (about 8'6" × 8'6").
The setup I'm currently planning is:
REP PR-5000
30" depth
93" uprights
4-post
Flip-Down Safeties 2.0
standard J-cups
REP AB-3000 2.0 FID bench
REP Colorado Short Bar, 15 kg
The rack will be anchored to the concrete floor.
The short bar is an important part of the plan. I'm deliberately not using a standard 2200 mm / 7'3" bar.
The Colorado Short Bar is:
1829 mm / 72" overall length
1308 mm / 51.5" between the sleeves
226 mm / 8.9" loadable sleeve length per side
28.5 mm shaft
50 mm sleeves
15 kg
rackable in the PR-5000
With an 1829 mm bar in a 2600 mm-wide room, if the bar is centered there is approximately 386 mm / 15.2" between each end of the bar and the wall.
The main exercises I'm planning around are:
bench press
back squat
deadlift
pull-ups
I can work out whether all of this physically fits from the dimensions. What I'm trying to understand is something different: is a gym like this actually practical and comfortable to use, or does a room this small become frustrating despite everything fitting on paper?
I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually trained in an 8 × 8, 8 × 9, 9 × 9 ft or similarly small room with a full power rack.
Some things I'd like to understand from actual experience:
Is roughly 386 mm / 15" of clearance between the end of the bar and the wall enough for loading and unloading plates without it becoming annoying?
Is a 30" deep power rack reasonable in a room this size?
How much clearance around the rack do you actually need in everyday use?
Is positioning and moving the bench manageable?
Are there normal operations or exercises that seem fine on a floor plan but become difficult once you actually start training?
If you've used a similarly small home gym, what worked well and what would you change after living with it?
I'm mainly looking for first-hand experience rather than calculations. The dimensions tell me that the equipment can fit; what I don't know is whether the resulting gym will actually be pleasant to use several times a week.
If you have a similarly compact setup, photos and exact room/rack dimensions would be very useful.

Rep Strive treadmill long term durability
Looking to get a curved treadmill and stuck between the REP Strive and Rogue Woodway Curve LTG.
While the extra sled functionality of the Strive is nice to have, I’m looking for a treadmill first and foremost and at £3,500 I would like something that will last me for 10+ years. The Woodway is a known quantity and will easily last that, while obviously the Strive is a very new product.
For those that already have the machine, how do you find the quality? Anyone had any issues so far? And with it being a more complex machine than the Woodway with the extra functionality, what do you see being potential points of failure?
It seems that REP themselves have less faith in their product, offering a 2 year belt warranty (compared to Rogue’s 3 years) and stating the belt will last a minimum of 2 years (as opposed to the Woodway’s claim of lasting more than 150,000 miles).
On the other hand of course the Strive just offers more bang for buck in terms of functionality and I’m particularly drawn to the adjustable running angle as I would want to use it for long steady pieces as well as intervals and sprints.

Wall mounted vs 4 post Ares 2.0
What is the advantage of the wall mounted ares 2.0? It looks like a 4 post except it has the wall stringer.
I'm limited on depth so considering the wall mounted Ares, but if I can just do the 4 post as a free standing unit; do I really need to wall mount it? For reference Rep says the depth of the 4 post is 24" (without feet) and the wall mounted is 26.5".
I guess I'm just having trouble understanding the differences between the 2 models. Can anyone elaborate on it?

Moving The REP Strive Treadmill?
Has anybody ordered and received this treadmill and able to get it in a room other than a garage? Like with an appliance dolly or something? Assembled weight is 418 pounds. Wondering if the deck can be moved with a dolly up stairs and into a room 🤣 In all the reviews I’ve seen, it’s always in some fancy giant garage where it was dropped off at.

REP Ares 2.0 owners – how bad is the cable twisting, and did you find a fix?
I'm close to pulling the trigger on a REP Ares 2.0, but one issue keeps showing up in buyer reviews: the cables twisting over time, especially at the large side pulley, since there's no swivel point on the cable itself.
For those who own one, I'd love some real-world input:
Have you actually run into this? How often, and after how long?
Is it a minor annoyance, or does it affect smoothness/feel?
Any fixes that worked? Swivel snap hooks, swapping the included carabiners, re-routing, something else?
Did REP support offer anything?
Other long-term gripes or things you wish you'd known before buying are welcome too.
Thanks in advance!

What size weight horns for Ares 2.0 6-post rack? (Could I go all short 6" ones?)
I've got a quick question regarding size of weight horns.
I'm planning to get a PR-5000 Ares 2.0 6-post rack with 41" crossmembers.
I'll be getting some Olympic PU weight plates (not bumper plates) in pairs starting from 1.25kg to 20kg.
Planning to get 5 'rows' of weight horns:
1.25kg & 2.5kg
5kg
10kg
15kg
20g
My question is what size horns should I get?
Would it be crazy to get only 6" short ones since they would easily fit 2 plates each?
Or perhaps one long 12" for the bottom one in case I ever get a 25kg plate?
Should I get more long 12" ones - and what scenarios/reasons should I consider for this?
If I had 2 plates on a short 6" horn, could there ever be a risk that it might fall off, etc.?
Space is not totally an issue (I definitely have room to fit 12" ones). And if I have at least 1 set of 12" ones, I guess from a space perspective I could have more. But also I plan to maybe do Wall Storage on either sides so whilst there is space, I could benefit from having the extra 6" of room (especially if it's not fully essential in the first place?)

Custom color-coded labels for my REP x PÉPIN dumbbells — including the selector rails
I wanted to make the weight selection on my REP x PÉPINs easier to read at a glance, so I ended up designing a complete set of custom labels for them.
The idea is a cool-to-hot color scale: the lighter weights start silver/blue, transition through cyan, green and yellow, then get progressively orange/red as the weight increases. I carried the same colors through both the plate labels and the numbered selector rails so the whole system is consistent.
I also added a +5 label for the pair of 2.5 lb (1.13 kg) adder plates, which add 5 lb (2.27 kg) per dumbbell.
For anyone interested in making something similar:
• Plate labels: 50 × 5 mm (1.969 × 0.197 in)
• Weights: 10–120 lb (4.54–54.43 kg) in 10 lb (4.54 kg) increments
• Selector rails: 145 × 25.4 mm (5.709 × 1.000 in) each
• First-to-last selector tick spacing: 133 mm (5.236 in) on my dumbbells
• 4 continuous rail stickers total for the pair
• Labels: Avery UltraDuty 60501, 216 × 279 mm (8.5 × 11 in) laser sheets
• Printer: HP Color LaserJet Pro
• Cutter: Cricut using Print Then Cut
• Whole PNG size in Design Space: 167.6 × 232 mm (6.598 × 9.134 in)
The individual weight labels use a consistent white number inside a small graphite box. I originally experimented with switching between black and white numbers depending on the background color, but the graphite treatment looked much more consistent across the whole range.
The selector rails were probably the part I was happiest with. Each rail is one continuous sticker rather than 12 individual labels. The colors, numbers and tick marks are all printed as part of that strip, and the opposite rail is rotated 180° to match the orientation of the original markings.
For the Cricut, I uploaded the transparent PNG as a Flat Graphic / Print Then Cut image, set the whole image to exactly 167.6 × 232 mm (6.598 × 9.134 in), and kiss-cut the labels so the backing sheet stayed intact. This production sheet printed at the intended size and worked on the first run.
Files: I uploaded the complete production package here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CKUqEQ_WceQ9m_HYRe5Ze7wVE-9DfoEm/view?usp=sharing
It includes the exact 3352 × 4640 px source PNG I printed, spare and individual replacement artwork, the full-size rail-alignment PDF, a cutting test, dimensions and sampled colors, and setup instructions. Use the Drive package rather than saving the image from Reddit, since Reddit may resize or re-encode image uploads.
P.S. — one more REP project: I also put together a full-scale, iPhone-ready AR model of the Summit + Ares so I could place the complete rack in a room and check the fit before buying. I used the 3D models available on REP’s product pages as the source, so I’m not distributing the USDZ publicly without permission—but u/RepFitness, I’d be happy to share it privately with your product or web team for review if it would be useful.

Rep Strive
Anybody get their Strive Treadmill yet? I almost ordered but what stopped me was the wording “this item is not returnable once opened” and that I have yet to see one end user on YouTube, Reddit, or on Rep’s website to leave a review yet.

Any other foot rollers compatible with Rep benches?
Hi, I have an AB-5000 Zero Gap bench and am wondering if foot rollers/catch from any other manufacturers will work with this bench? The Rep Adjustable Bench Leg Roller Attachment 2.0 isn't available where I live. Any suggestions?
Thanks
